Just wondering if it's possible to use the xt925 with the stock ROM on AT&T's network. I bought the phone from someone on CTO and they had already put a custom ROM on it and it is working on AT&T. The problem is that this ROM is not very smooth so I wanted to try put the stock one, but I don't want to lose the AT&T radio. Thanks

Yes, you can put the factory firmware on your XT925, pending on what's on it already. If it's on 4.1 Jelly Bean, you will need to unlock the bootloader before reverting to an older 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware.
In either case, you can use the RAZR HD firmware from Rogers to restore your phone and keep compatibility with AT&T network.

Thanks for the reply. I've actually decided to stay with JB for now. I'm just wondering where the hell the modem is that flashes it to us AT&T. Is it the same as the Rogers one?

Correct, you need to use the Rogers modem for AT&T. Yo can use any XT925 firmware as long as you move over the Rogers modem, fsg and the correct XML files to that firmware.

If you flash 2.3.6 for the I9020T you can flash the stock ICS ROM that was uploaded last night for the I9020T. All you need to do then is flash the radio for I9020A and you have fully functioning ICS .

I keep hearing people say that. It seems weird, though, doesn't it? If that's really all it takes, why wouldn't Google have just packaged them together and released it for the I9020A? I'll never understand corporate politics...
they may just have an ota schedule to keep from taxing the servers, or maybe they are working on a different radio for the at&t version. In any case there is a rooted version of the t version without the radio in the development section that works on the a version just fine. I have been using it all afternoon with no problems what so ever.

do you have to be rooted to do that, and if you apply the t-mobile version will at&t and google still send you the real ota?

I don't think you need to be rooted, but you'll need an unlocked bootloader. And no, if you install modified firmware, you won't get future OTAs.
So I have upgraded my Nexus S i9020a (AT&T) with ROM from the google dev site....
(I cannot post links yet)
developers.google.com -> android/nexus/images
I installed the JRO03E base OS from the T-Mobile / Global version (sojujro03e)
and just the radio from (sojuajro03e)
For the most part things are working fine but it does seem to crash on me while on calls a couple times a day (which is like and 1/4 of the time) so far.
I guessing this crashing is due to my mixing of roms but I figured I would ask if
1) Has anyone else tried this and what is their experience?
2) Is anyone seeing crashing with the sojuajro03e or sojujro03e as is?

You installed the T-Mobile/9023 version for AT&T? Maybe that's your problem. You need to flash sojua for AT&T as far as I know.
I have a 9020 on AT&T and I installed it a week or so ago... been running great.
Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info yes I can go back to that to a the pure AT&T rom. I am just saying there may or may not be some benefits to having a rom that does not call back to AT&T so they can double charge you for the same data you already pay them for.
4.1.1 performance on I9020a?

hello
well to make it short i bought the atrix 2 from the US early when it came out and then i came to Dubai and all the annoying bloatware for AT&T have became more annoying by (NOT WORKING) when i was leaving i called them and they gave me the unlock code so im using the phone in Dubai, UAE and its working great, im on Victory Rom (Best rom ever) clean and elegant.
---------
now i found there is official ICS firmware for UAE Retails and it has the same number as my phone MB865 so my question is: can i flash that firmware to my AT&T phone ? and incase that is not possible, if i want a clean ICS ROM (made from the official OTA update not the leak) where i can find it ? and lastly if all is not possible what is the cleanest quickest and best ROM and will it work if i update to OTA ICS ?
sorry for taking too long and Thanks in advance
----------
that was what i wrote earlier but now i tried to do OTA and the phone stuck on the dual core technology screen so im thinking to Fxz but i dont know if i should do it for GB 2.3.6 or ICS ?
thanks a lot

To be very honest with you and AFAIK no one had tried to fxz to ICS from GB.but in theory it should work.
But this is what I'll suggest fxz to 2.3.6 and try OTAing.it should take you to ICS directly.

Ok so get this very clear if you phone it's AT&T one(it has AT&T written on the bottom) then you can't flash any other firmware.your only option is the AT&T firmware( from here).
And there are lots of ROMs that you can try.
StockyEd is pure OTA version of ICS.
Others are Numa, swifty trix ,scv7.Also we have CM10.

Hey,
Can I flash a Canadian Fido model with the French SFR ROM? It's not a US Droid, so I'm assuming the bootloader is unlocked?
It looks like the Euro model is getting quicker firmware upgrades (they got JB late November, whilst the Canadian model is pending for Q1 2013), so I would prefer to be on that ROM!
Cheers,
Su

Your bootloader is locked, but can be unlocked. I wouldn't recommend going to European firmware though since I've been seeing a lot LTE issues when users switch off of the Rogers ROM. What's another month (or 2-3 weeks) anyways? You might end up spending a lot of time getting your phone to function just how it did on the Rogers firmware.

Hey,
I'm actually based in the UK, but thinking of picking up a Fido RAZR HD because they are much cheaper over there!
We have only one LTE network at the moment, and I'm not on it I'd prefer to have JB and HSPA+ if possible!
I've just come across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35085808
Looks like the Australian ROM is using the new(er) version of JB?!
Thanks,
Su
JB "should" be out at the end of January for our phone claims Rogers. I would at least wait till Feb 1St b4 tinkering

I flashed the Fido Razr HD using an Australian JellyBean sbf with the Rogers modem_signed and fsg_signed files from ICS. Works a beaut, not sure which rom you would use the files for to get it working in the UK though. The Australian rom had minimal bloat and I didn't feel like waiting a month for Rogers/Fido to release JB.
Does the Rogers/Fido ROM have a lot of crapware in it?
Not too much... Nothing compared to Verizon! I saw like 7 or 8 bloatware applications when I first got my phone and was able to disable all of the apps I.don't use. Heck, they didn't even pre-load an ebook software!

Do you know if you can revert to the fido rom if you ever wanted?
Thanks in advance

I got them from the Fido/Rogers ICS rom. I opened the JellyBean rom with 7-zip and dragged and dropped the files along with an xml file found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054906
I missed a step when doing it and missed putting the fsg file in there and was without LTE, I was then able to use a fastboot script to flash it after. I have attached the script and fsg file. The modem file can be found in the referenced thread. You also need to have an unlocked bootloader.
I'm fairly certain we are able to SBF to the Rogers/Fido JB when it comes out safely. I would not SBF to a prior firmware like ICS myself....and why would you want to?

I have the fido one,
crapware, honestly about 4 apps, just like myaccount, vvm, ringtones and shop.
But when they sold me my phone it was apparently a Fido/Rogers verison, and i had to return the phone, then i got my new one i never hit SIM CONFIGURATION when it booted and now my rom is completely stock from factory, no crapware whatsoever! not even a fido boot screen.

I did, warranty's are made to be broken right?! lol
If I ever had a defect; I would return it to Fido anyways...they have no idea if it's been unlocked nor would they care to check.
Just a little warning for you ...
if you use a rogers/fido on UK :
you can flash any firmware with any radio file ... but YOU NEVER GET LTE ( NOT SAME BAND IT S HARDWARE NOT SOFTWARE )... and Rogers/Fido phone don't have dual carrier chip (42mbits)... only hspa+ chip (21 mbits)
if i have the choice i prefer pay 50 $ more to get lte or dc hspa ...

Hmm, well I assumed there would be physical hardware differences, but got different info from another thread:
EdwardN said:
Not exactly true. The XT925 firmware is what determines which radios are active. Having 700/800/1700/1800/2100/2600 all active at the same time would drain the battery like woah. Currently you can merge the radio you need into the rom you want to use, and make it work that way.

I have all ready tried there only one I have seen and tested is rogers. The only reason I am looking for it is that I need to update to kitkat and get the 4.4 boot loader so I can get the latest version of CyanogenMod. any other way to do it would work to but It needs to be for the XT925 Not the XT926.

I have flashed CWM fist and tried to install CM12 but it failed and displays that I need 4.4 bootloader, which I found out while searching that I need to install kitkat fido update first but I installed CWM before doing the up date and now I am unable to get 4.4 bootloader without removing CWM and from what I can find I need to flash the stock fido rom in order to remove CWM.
Just flash and then OTA update to 4.4.2 from http://web.archive.org/web/20130817...12.2_CANADA_VANQJBLTEFRCI_P004_CFC_fb.xml.zip
Rogers or Fido, it shouldn't matter.
