[Q] How do you recover stock/original applications prior to flashing CM 9 - General Questions and Answers

Please bare with me since I am still learning about android and so my question is, how can I recover my applications from my tablet after I have rooted it. since the stock/original applications takes up 8 gigs of space of my internal memory. I just cannot seem to access/delete those 8 gigs??
I flashed cyanogen 9 to my SGT2.10.1 and it was successful, although I am stuck on trying to recover my applications from the partition internal memory. Of course I have done a variety of steps to recover them and some of the steps I took are:
1. I tried using the spk tool - I really do not know how to use it and I am having a hard time figuring it out
2. Trying to delete and reformat the internal memory - was not successful since it only erased of what I currently had on the rooted and partitioned memory, thus my original/stock application are still within the internal memory.
3. I tried using applications such PC36IMG-AmonRA-3.07-gnm.zip - I changed the name to PC36IMG but flashing it lead to installation fail/aborted
4. I tried recovering them with titanium back up - but the application couldn't see my original/stock applications
5. Also tried using Astro File manager - Same results as TBU
6. Deleting the files from my pc via usb- it does not give me an option to reformat it
Any suggestions? this is the final step that I need to complete to finally enjoy my retarded galaxy tab 2

[Q] PLEASE I need some genius to help me urgently - internal SD nightmare!!!

Hi
I had an Atrix and used it for three months, then the internal memory (SD area) seemed to corrupt - I could not format or unmount it or access anything in there apart from copying files with Astro or ES File Manager. Even a full factory restore of the phone did not delete any of the data on the Internal SD (or Media Area). Ended up getting rid and getting an Optimus 3D.
Now, had the 3D for a month and can't believe I am having a similar problem. Android market apps kept disappearing on boot up (this is what started before), and randomly they would be there or not on each reboot. I moved some files using file manager from the internal to the external SD to create some room and my phone got stuck in a boot loop so I had to remove the battery and external SD for it to work again. Then, all of the apps on the internal sd instead of their icons had the android sd symbol and when clicked on say 'application not installed on phone'. When I look at the Sd and memory storage, the internal SD is nearly full still! I can't access it, can't factory reset it, or delete data. Surely there is some way of sorting this without yet another handset - it's gotta be a fixable glitch? In desperation rooted phone with Superoneclick which was really easy but doesn't help me because I can download from the market, etc, but can't actually install - I am stuck in the install 'candybar' for ages and it just won't work. I thought of manually deleting all of this stuff but I can't get a file manager onto the phone and the factory reset wiped out ES and Astro, I can't get them back on in the usual way.
Because I have root access now, I presume I may be able to use ADB through my PC to sort this problem - but of course would need exact commands etc, on how to do this through the command prompt? I am not an expert but think I just need to get rid of the carp on my internal SD which must have a corrupt file somewhere. Please help urgently, it is frustrating beyond belief and I almost feel like going back to Apple!!!!

This is a GUI for ADB a graphical front end. You can use it to push/pull some apk to your phone if ya need to. Hope this helps in some way.

[Q] Questions about creating 2nd partition on sdcard

Hi guys.
Samsung Galaxy Ace, Android 2.3.6, rooted, with several system apps uninstalled successfully using Titanium Backup.
2gb sdcard is about 3/4 full. It is only now that I'm considering making a 2nd partition.
1. If I copy EVERYTHING in the sdcard to my laptop, then create the 2nd partition, and copied everything back to the 2nd partition, will everything (i.e. my installed apps) still run smoothly as before? Or do I have to re-install everything?
2. Link2sd is compatible with stock ROM, correct?
3. If I use link2sd, are the 'links' copied to the first partition or second?
4. I don't plan on upgrading the size of my sdcard (2gb) since I'm not a heavy gamer, I have only 10 casual games, biggest of which is about 8mb, and about 10+ other small apps. The only thing that takes a big chunk of space is the map for the Sygic navigation app. So how big should each partition be (how big for 1st partition and how big for 2nd partition) for someone like me?
5. I don't plan on using custom ROMs, so is FAT32 the ideal format for me?
6. Is it necessary to flash clockworkmod Recovery?
7. If everything is working ok with link2sd, can I flash the stock recovery back?
Thanks guys!!!

You cannot recover stock applications and some of them would not work on CM9 anyway.
Which apps are you trying to run? Many Samsung apps and widgets require the Samsung framework lib which is not part of CM Roms.

When i meant by stock apps/original applications not basically the apps that came with my tablet, the apps that i downloaded from google play which is associated with my google account. i understand i could redownloaded the apps back again but unfortunately they are still within my internal memory and i do not seem to access of those applications. they are currently taking up 8 gigs of space on my internal memory which sucks quite bad since i cannot delete them or recover it. Note that i did not back up my applications prior to flashing my rom, i have used titanuim back up pro, and the 8 gigs of apps does not show up same with using applications such as file applications on the tablet. i really tried everthing on my knowledge to recover the files or even try to format it with lilltle or no success. do you have any recommendations?

[Q] CM 10.1 internal memory low

I have installed CM 10.1 in my GT-P3113 and it works great, I like the interface better than Samsung. But the internal memory shows up as about 4.5gb with 500mb used by apps, and about 400mb free. That doesn't sound right, I don't have very many apps, but I am having trouble downloading some of the larger games, like Asphalt7. Can I do anything to fix this? Am I missing some step, like a nand flash or format? I have a 32gb sdhc card but use it for music and videos. Don't want to start moving apps to it.

now does your device initially had 11.85 GB internal memory?
if yes, then you could free up your memory.
well, i am just sharing my experience with CM 10.1 on tab 2 but p3100(almost same as p3113, with extra calling facility). b4 flashing cm10.1 i had some 7 GB internal memory with my stock ROM(4.1.2). if i would ve flashed that stock rom again, then my internal memory would ve gone to around 10.9-11.2 GB, as it formats the device completely.
but when i flashed with CM 10.1, i had internal memory less than 7 GB now, it is just because it doesn't formats your device, but removes your installed applications. let me explain you in other way---->lets go with installing windows 7 in your PC.
if you install windows without booting by using some virtual disks or some DVD, your old programs gets stored in windows.old folder, the same happens here, its just that you are using the CM recovery as your virtual disk thing, it overwrites your systems keeping your old files(BUT NOT IN ANY SINGLE FOLDER) they are kept as it is. the apps you installed earlier with your OLD FIRMWIRE WILL NOT GET REMOVED, BUT ALSO WILL NOT WORK.
in this case the only way to get rid of this memory issue is to remember those folders where your programs get installed with yous OLD OS(firmwire) and DELETE them directly(just like deleting WINDOWS.old folder if you dont need it). well for some huge games like NFS MW or ASPHALT, dont delete those folders where it got installed previously, as these are downloaded data, so with your new firwire you just install the game with the reqd apk file and your game will run without downloading data again, if you delete them, u ve to download again. but its better if you keep a backup of such huge games in your PC)
but in the other way if you install windows from the boot using your DVD, you ve an option to format and reinstall(the formatting drive option, you ll not get if you are not booting from the CD and directly running the installer from within an OS). the same happens here too, if you flash your firmwire from the download mode, your device is completely formatted(additionally u may need to clear wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache too, from the recovery).
SO IF YOU FLASH CM 10.1 FROM THE DOWNLOAD MODE YOU CAN GET ALL YOUR MEMORY BACK, but i don't know if there is any method to install CMs or AOKPs or any custom ROM from the download mode, as these files are in zip format and not *tar.md5. so we install them from the recovery mode.
LETS SEE IF THERE IS ANY METHOD TO INSTALL CUSTOM ROMS VIA DOWNLOAD MODE USING ODIN DIRECTLY(but i dont think so).

[Q] Help can't use 2Go of my smartphone

Hello,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy trend light "Fresh" (GT-S7390)
Android: Jelly Bean 4.1.2
(sorry for bad english)
yesterday i've installed foldermount in order to transfer some games from internal SD to the SD card,
when i've launched the app, it said that "some files are corrupted press ok to fix" so i pressed ok, then it said "restart your in order to use foldermount properly" so i restarted my phone.
here when i tried to open the sdcard folder, it shown that there is no folder "empty".
i've tried every thing to access to these subfolders in sdcard0, but i failed.
so i've wiped all the system, data, cache...etc, to install a stock rom downloaded from samsung-updates.com, using odin 3.09
when it finished i've turned up my phone, it said that there is no space available, when i go to the storage settings i find that :
total space 4Go
system's memory 1.6Go
apps 105Mo
Audio 0.092Mo
Misc. 2.16Go
Available space 139Mo
but the problem is when i connect the phone with pc, i see (in windows 7 x64) that the phone has only 2.84Go
4Go minus 2.84Go equal 2.16Go
tadaaaaa
so there is an unused or used (i don't know) space in my phone that i can't access to it
please help
(sorry for bad english)
