Google Now's music recognition - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have an issue with the music recognition on Google Now. Whenever I try to ID a song, it looks like its working but then suddenly the search will just crash and I'll get returned to the home screen. Sometimes "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped" shows up for a split second before going back to the homecreen. I have very rarely gotten the music ID to work, usually by searching for the same song multiple times after each crash. If I use the sound search widget, it works fine.
Interestingly, If I uninstall the latest update for sound search in the play store, I get better results. (Doesnt crash as much, IDs more songs)
Wondering if anyone on same/different roms are having this problem, or if its just isolated to me.
I am currently running CM10 stable.

I have the CM10 stable release and the Google music search works fine. Maybe clearing the data & reboot will help??
System Settings -> Manage Apps -> Google Search -> Clear data

Clearing data and rebooting did nothing to help.
Addendum: Wiping cache/dalvik and doing fix permissions helped initially, could ID a few songs, then returned to previous behavior of crashing alot.

Google Navigation causing reboots

It seems latest update to google maps is causing phone to Reboot. The phone is rebooting within 1 or 2 minutes after opening Google Navigation.
Here is the logcat. After rebooting there is a message which says new Sim Card added and phone must reboot and phone again reboots .
The phone is rebooting only when I start Google Navigation.
I tried to kill app -> clear data -> Uninstall -> clear dalvik cache -> reinstall from Google play store but no help!
I agree with you. Having the same problem. Using stock Ics rom
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
I had the same problem with Google Maps. I'm guessing they are related since Navigation uses Maps.
I just went to Manage Apps and uninstalled the recent update to Google Maps. Haven't had a reboot since.
Been facing the same problem. Any feature of Google Maps, be it Navigation, Location History, etc. causes the phone to reboot within a minute of use.
I had to restore the previous version to continue using the app.
Hope Google fixes this soon
Installing old version fixed issue for time being. You can find it here.
Same issue on my HTC Sensation, using 6.9 for 10m now with no reboots.
Also commented about this issue on Play Store
Same problem here...stock everything...
But it seems that I've managed to resolve the issue by uninstalling updates, then reboot (by powering off and with small pause to power back on), then install update again.
No crashes since then (for now)...post if it works for you...
had this happen today too.. good thing i wasent on my motorcycle.. this bug made me miss part of my movie i was going too.. =/

Uninstalling the google maps app updates seems to fix this problem.

Every time I turn on my GTab I get a notfication that Google Play Music has stopped. I also get the same notification everytime I try and use the app to play music. Any one else have these issues and a possible fix?

I'm streaming Google Music right now. I use it frequently and I've not had this issue.
I would suggest clearing the application cache first. Go:
Menu>System Settings>Application Manager>Google Play Music
Then click all of them, "Force Stop" then "Uninstall Updates" then "Clear data" then "Clear cache."
You will have to re-download any updates, and any songs you've cached locally to the phone, but it is as close to cleaning out the system as you can get without having to do a full factory reset.

I already did all that and still had the same problem. Even tired using the older version, well oldest on ICS which is only one version back. I've just disabled it for now till google comes up with another update to try. I've seen threads for other devices about the same problem with no solutions either. And it seems to be hit or miss for tehm too, works for some people but not others.

Google Experience Launcher

I've heard from multiple people that they've gotten the Google experience launcher to work on a Droid DNA like I have, but I can't even open the launcher without it saying that Google search has stopped. I've seen the fix where you change the language, do a voice search and then immediately change it back, but Google search and the default voice search app both crash before I even have time to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really love to get this working!
I have the same problem when I go to my homescreen, I am greeted with "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped."
I cleared cache and data, problem still persists.
I'm unable to see my App Drawer so anything I have to open will be impossible.
I can still access my Settings though.

'Ok Google' spontaneous open when using Google Music All access

Hi,
Recently started the trial of Google play music all access.
I have the Google Now apps installed so My Moto G has the full 'OK Google' functionality going on.
For some reason, the phone 'beeps' and opens up voice search for no reason 80% of the time when a new track starts, or if I skip a track.
Does anyone know why this is, This is usually when a quiet instrumental is playing at the beginning of a song so It's not being driven by someone saying 'ok google' in the song ..
Any thoughts whats going on. I don't want to disable voice because its actaully very useful when driving to control google maps, etc.
cheers
I had this same problem with the general Play music when listening through earphones. However after the application update a few days ago, I haven't found it again.
Maybe you can consider updating if you have not already.
its updated. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

[Q] Stock android problem with music

HI guys, I've got a real head scratcher and for the first time in every aspect of my life a Google search hasn't come through for me.
Background: Completely stock Nexus 4 - 4.4.3
Completely stock Nexus 7 - 4.4.2
No task or app killers
Problem: Out of no where when swiping away any music player (Google Play Music, Shuttle+, Wiizm etc) the music is killed!? The phone seems to be preventing the app from running in the background. I can hit the menu hot key and open other apps and music will play fine, it just won't continue playback if app is swiped.
I've also noticed I no longer get any form of mini player in the notification pull down or notification (headphones, play symbol etc) in the status bar if I have music playing unless I swipe the app but by which time the music has been killed!
What I've tried: Numerous searches, factory reset, uninstalling and reinstalling apps, cache and data clearing and even a different user account.
I could completely understand that something could corrupt or I could possibly hit a setting I've never seen before causing this to happen but surely a factory reset would resolve it? To add insult to injury my Nexus 7 has gone exactly the same way with the same symptoms. I don't even have the same music players on the individual device so I can't blame it on one particular app.
It driving me insane! Does anyone have any suggestions?
I experienced the second part of your problem, GPM no longer was in my notification bar+shade. Searched everywhere and your post was the only one I could find related to my problem. Curiously I checked the app under >Settings>Applications>Google Play Music and noticed that the notifications check box was not checked so I checked it and now everything is back to normal. Really can't remember if I turned it off myself or if upgrading to 4.4.3 had something to do with it.
