Hi guys, I bought a Motorola Atrix 2 AT&T Unlocked and I have problems when I try to connect to the internet.
I can make/receive phone calls and sms, but no data. I'm from Venezuela and the carrier that I use has HSDPA 850 (It works fine with 3G), so it seems not to be the problem because atrix 2 is a "International Phone".
I tried everything, changed manually APNs and still I can't get data connection.
Toogled on/off radio and still no data.
Searching in phone info I found this:
Data
State_ DcInactiveState disconnected with last try at 7:59pm
Do you have any suggestion? Any help I'll appretiate.

Quick question do you have the me or the mb model?
Atrix 2 4G MB865
This question belongs in the general section not the developer section.
I will have the mods move this.

It is the Access Point.
Please insert your sim card in a different phone, take note of the access points, and then put the sim back into the Atrix 2.
It happens many times, that the Atrix 2 is not able to see the Access Points configured inside the sim card.
Please let us know if that solves the problem.

APN is for Mobile Internet I think... If there's no APN, he should be able to make calls and send SMS, but mobile internet (without wifi) would not access internet.
But, that's what I think

First of all you should search your latest RUU and flash your phone back to stock. So you will have all software parts in stock and htc tested condition. If it still won't work, maybe you have a hardware problem.

Your original CID from movistar Venezuela was "BSTAR301". There is no matching RUU available, but as your phone is "S-OFF" you can change the CID to
HTC__001
Thats unbranded HTC and you can use unbranded EU RUU
Feel free to ask for furher instructions if needed.

Friend, and I made the switch of CID but do not let me install the RUU (try several RUU and CID, but none works only Super-CID)
It gives me error device identification. In contrast with the Super-CID if I can.
I installed several RUU with Super-CID but it has not solved my network problem.
Discard it hardware problem because the cell recognizes the different telephone networks in my country.
But do not let me connect to either manually or automatically, gives me this error:
**** "Your SIM card not allow a connection to this network."
If possible I would appreciate you follow helping too, as I do not want to lose my HOS

Did you change the CID to "HTC__001" and flashed unbranded RUU? Sometimes you have to flash the RUU twice.
But if i get it right, you're phone is simply SIMLOCKED(such a lock will not be affected by installing another firmware). Are the phone and the simcard Movistar Venezuela?

In the CID "HTC__001" does not allow me to install any RUU.
I can only install the RUU with CID "11111111"
If both your phone and simcard are Movistar.
I've even released the phone and use it with a time of Digitel simcard.
Then I continued using it with Movistar simcard and it worked perfect.
The whole problem started after you turn the phone to leave it charging.
The location where I was had poor coverage so at first thought nothing of it but in the end never returned my connection.
Could be a blocking IMEI?

If the Movistar but had to release (as it comes with blockade by Movistar) had to use the phone Digitel (another operator).
Here in Venezuela crime is strong and to reduce thefts phones are blocked by IMEI and thus avoid the black market so to call it haha.
But it seems weird since I bought him new phone, Movistar would have to go to check they have not locked my IMEI by mistake.
I did not make him change IMEI, saw not necessary.
But if you can make, by chance know how?

Have a nice day
Hi. I want to share my experience with you. See, I live in Mexico and here the only available bands for LTE are B4 and B2, and it was nice to see this phone being compatible with B4, so I ordered mine as soon as it was available in black color. It arrived last wednsday, and what I found? That it was not able to connect to LTE, I though it was a configuration problem, but then I revised the manual included in the box and it clearly says it's only compatible with B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B38/B40. Damn, I felt so bad, I made a little research googling and realized that there are going to be several versions of this phone and the LTE support is going to depend of the selling area. This was hard to accept, but also the key of a posible solution. This is supoused to be a phone sold worldwide, and if there are several versions depending of the selling area I guess is easier and cheaper for production to make exactly the same hardware rather than one for each selling area, so maybe the only constraint for LTE support could posibly be something related to software. And so it was. I wanted to try to modify the NVRAM values to force the SoC to accept B4. For this as you might know you need an unlocked bootloader (for root) and a rooted phone. So, first I unlocked the bootloader, something really easy to do by the way, and then looked for a CF-auto-root zip (it is officially supported by Chainfire), then flashed the boot.img aaaaand, when my phone turned on, IT WAS CONNECTED TO LTE SIGNAL, no NV values were changed, anything else but this was done to make Mi A1 to support LTE B4. I can't see which other bands were enabled, I don't know how to see this since signal guru is not free for this feature anymore, but I assume that also other official supported bands were enabled.
Hope this can help someone else in a similar situation than me. I don't know if flashing a boot partition is enough to change LTE support, if so, its probably that the phone locks again with an update, but I guess that reflashing the boot.img or even a full ROM can make it support LTE bands again, and the worse scenario would be to change NVRAM values cause I alredy confirm that its able to support more bands than stock, I mean, the hardware is there so you just have to enable it. And yes, LTE is working fine with no issues.
Man...I just ordered on and I'm in the United States. It says "4G: FDD LTE B3/ B1/ B4/ B7/ B5/ B8/ B20; TD LTE B38:2600/ B39:1900/ B40:2300 MHz" under Network. I'm with Walmart's Family Mobile (they use T-Mobile's network). They say that you need a GSM phone with either 850 or 1900MHz band.
I hope this works...or else I have to return it...to China.
Can someone else confirm this?

When I bought mine the seller also said in description that it was B4 compatible, but when it arrived and saw the manual page with the phone specs, it clearly said that only supports B 1/3/7/8/20/38/40 (I'll attach a photo), and also the problem that it wasn't able to connect to my local LTE network.
As I said, I can't show you which bands are now enabled, I don't know how, if someone knows a way (different from Signal Guru) just tell me and I'll gladly do it
Edit: Forget about it, finally found how to show LTE bands with signal Guru without buying it. Screenshot attached showhing B 1/3/4/5/7/8/20/38/40 enabled! :silly:

I ordered my phone through Aliexpress...so whenever I recieve it...I'll pop in my sim and see. I'm pretty sure you're right...but I can still hope. China is on Holiday at the moment...apparently the entire country is shut down.
I know nothing about rooting a device. I've used my phones as is. I'm using a Nextbit Robin right now. Overall I'm pretty happy with the phone...but I want something with a better camera.

Oh true, I guess the whole country stops like for 2 weeks, you'll have to wait a little longer. And I hope your version gets B4 stock enabled, but if it isn't, is not a hard process, practically all you'll have to do is copy paste some command lines to your terminal/cmd window. Is a really developer friendly phone, is really easy to unlock the bootloader, and really easy to flash the CF-auto-root image for root, I guess it's been the easiest one I've ever had

Hello, I'm from Mexico too and the truth is that it happened to me exactly the same as you say that happened to you, I fell in love with the phone and bought it as soon as I saw a seller offering it saying that it worked in B4 and in the same way when I came to see the manual and try it disappoint me. Please kindly ask me if you managed to make it work B4 band help me to make it work in mine, help me explaining well what was your process and the steps you did.
Thank you, my friend, and if you can help me, I really appreciate it.

I have ordered this phone from aliexpress as well, I was wondering if it's possible to activate the B28 LTE frequency... Unfortunately is not listed anywhere, I am not sure about it (but could be extremely good here in Australia).
Thank you
Hello guys!
If you buy the global version you don't need to root your phone to get lte band 4, even if that banddon't appear in the manual that come in the box, this is what happened to me:
I setup the phone the first time with out the simcard, and in languaje options just appeared spanish (united states) and spanish, I selected the first one, and.... I only had 3g when I installed the sim card. So I decided to reset the phone, but this time I did it with my lte b4 compatible sim card (at&t México) inside, this time "spanish (México)" appeared in the languaje options! and guess what? now I have 4G! so to have 4g in México you need to select mexican spanish in the initial setup, you can't select it in the menu options after the setup if you select another languaje in the initial setup.
Hola chicos!

This is what the vendor I bought my A1 from says: Tips: "The manual is universal and perhaps you can not find B4 bands in the manual, please update the phone and normally it can use the B4 band with 4G network."
Have you tried updating over WiFi first? I haven't received mine yet. I'm going to update over WiFi and then see if I can get an LTE connection.
Lol...the price increased since I made my order.

I received my phone and inserted my SIM card. While it does say"4G", the internet speed is extremely slow. Less than 1Mbps. I'm on Family Mobile that uses T Mobile's network. I'm in the United States.

First, sorry for my english...i´m from Ecuador....I was using CLARO Network..but only with 3G.....I installed the september update and didn´t do a full reset...only changed the lenguage to Español (Ecuador) (deleted all other lenguages)...restart...and now I have 4G....thanks a lot!!!
I live in Puerto Rico and use T-Mobile. I had to change the language to spanish mexico and now it connects to LTE Band 4. Speeds are slow right now because the communication towers are devastated due to hurricane maria. Once they restore power to the Island I show be able to see regular speeds up to 80mbps
Good afternoon! Greetings from Mexico! A few days ago I bought a Realme GT Neo 2, I currently live in Mexico and use a company called "Bait" from Altan Redes (which uses band 28), this information will help me to explain and comment on a question that I have AND I CANNOT SOLVE.
According to the Realme website, my phone is the "realme GT NeoFR(12+256)" version; what I suppose is from France and therefore a version of Europe, so far everything is fine, right?

Well, not because according to the manufacturer's specifications, this super cell phone supports VolTE and supports band 28; when inserting the sim that I have in a OnePlus 5 from the Mexican company Bait with the hope that the VolTE will be activated and I can receive calls or dial, something that for 10 days I tried in a thousand ways and I could never activate said service, call operated and they told me the following "Your equipment is not approved to work with our network" pfffffff!!, and it is curious that said activation option does not appear in the settings.
How do I "half" solve this problem, since it is a dual sim, buy and enter another "BAIT" sim with activated data and use my previous "BAIT" sim, degrading the signal to 2g so that calls can come in and out.
So far I would like to know if anyone has a solution to this problem or has had the same problem that I face.
After reading here on XDA I did the following:
Firstly, the equipment came with the firmware RMX3370_11_A.03; and when reading in detail in the forum I realized that if we use a VPN it is likely that it will release an update to be able to unlock the bootloader and be able to flash the phone and change the region (with this flashing I thought that it could activate the volte or some functions different to be able to use my phone with the "BAIT" operator).
For this first Update I used the psiphon Pro application and the country of France.
https://psiphon.ca/es/download.html
After trying a vpn and a lot of patience the phone first received the RMX3370_11_A.05 update.
After a few days I kept trying to upload the version of the phone and simply with the vpn for hours and connected to WIFI I did not receive anything, that is why I thought what if I change the country when using the VPN? and bingo I was able to update to the RMX3370_11_A.06 version for this case I used the same application but using the vpn of the country of Bulgaria.
With this update it was first possible for me to unlock the booloader following in detail the tutorial of the brother @RMX3370 (thanks for the tutorials)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...2-rmx3370-all-variants.4391679/#post-86396489
Once the bootloader is unlocked install TWRP and Magisk to root the phone; again following in detail the tutorial of the brother @RMX3370
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-realme-gt-neo-2-rmx3370-all-models-with-magisk.4392005/
After this process and with the unlocked bootloader flashie and change regions through Europe, India Latam etc.... NOTHING OR ANY version of firmware activated the VolTE.
For flashing, follow in detail the following tutorial from brother @SrCDA:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ion-relockbootloader-realme-gt-neo-2.4399223/
All this process BooLoader unlocking, flashing, firmware installation (region changes) was done under MacOS BigSur without problems; That's why I tell you to follow all the guides in detail since I see that sometimes they ask many things recursively when the same authors of the guides solve them in the publications.
After trying and trying to get the VolTE to work I have resigned myself to staying in the INDIA region and I am already using the phone for daily use; only now there is another problem THE FINGERPRINT READER DOES NOT WORK, I have tried to put my fingerprints and it is really annoying to unlock it with a code; I have disabled magisk's biometric authentication BUT IT HAS NOT SOLVED ANYTHING.
I've changed the android calling app to avoid the "This call is being recorded" announcement, and uninstalled apps that slow down the phone to leave the stock rom as clean as possible.
It is a fast phone, well configured and I really like it; but I list my problems again:
- There is no VolTE for band 28 of Mexico
- Issue with fingerprint reader shaking when trying to add them to unlock the phone.
Note: if any user requires that I support him in something with all pleasure!; If anyone can ask for my listed problems or faced the same thing and managed to fix them, I would really appreciate some tips to finish configuring my phone!
Thank you very much for reading and for your kind attention, greetings from Mexico!

I already did a search, I found the version rmx3370_11_a.06, but the instructions themselves I didn't understand very well. I tried to do it in OTA, but I couldn't find the file. I can even try to do it in EDL, but this is not considered root? Apart from that I came to look for update patches after the wi-fi gives problems of not finding the network, being that other cell phones are connected to the wifi network

I just got the phone myself so I haven't started with modifications or unlocking bootloader but considering its a SD 870 I would assume it might be similar to a Oneplus 7 Pro EDL procedure which requires a different button combo and different USB drivers from Qualcomm. The page I found here seems to show similar steps https://realmefirmware.com/how-to-flash/ and the download for global a.06 and india 1.07 [https://realmefirmware.com/realme-gt-neo2-5g-firmware/]
But I won't be doing that yet but from my own experiences on other phones it looks like the right path. Lots of people in other threads are mentioning inconsistent functionality so there might be more to it too. I guess it might be beneficial to keep watching and waiting.
My phone is from Banggood I'm on a.06 from purchase. I am in Australia.
I understand, well I even thought about buying from Bangood, but I didn't have it in green, lol, apparently it's the right way, but MSM doesn't accept my login credentials.Even if I were to do it now, I wouldn't notice, and even because I have to back up all the files, Irati get my old cell phone for this and format this one and try to do it. Even a Poco F3 has a similar method, however instead of Qualcomm EDL Mode, it uses a similar but branded Xiaomi tool and within Fastboot Mode to flash the device.
I'll be reading up on Stock flash methods for myself before I get to a stage where I unlock bootloader and root.

Wouldn't be the same no, as Xiaomi's tool only supports a fastboot type package.

Hi, I bought this phone 3 days ago (with no volte option) and Im also with BAIT. The thing I did is to download Vozapp, so far I can receive phone calls without any issue. When the phone stay along time without usage (like going bed) you may need to wake it up again (just double tap to wake the screen) so the app resume receiving calls.

¡Buena tarde!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...2-rmx3370-all-variants.4391679/#post-86396489
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-realme-gt-neo-2-rmx3370-all-models-with-magisk.4392005/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ion-relockbootloader-realme-gt-neo-2.4399223/

I hope to keep in touch with you, as you seem to be experienced

ok brother I understand, I don't use voice app better buy another bait sim and with that I have activated 4G and my main sim (also bait), what I was able to investigate with a friend who works at Altan Redes IS THAT THE VOLTE FOR CALLS WILL NEVER WORK ON THIS PHONE UNTIL REALME OR ANY MEXICAN TELEPHONE COMPANY SELL IT IN THEIR OFFICIAL STORES SO THAT THE TAXES ARE PAID AND IT CAN BE APPROVED

Hello brother, a pleasure! I recommend you try to flash it yourself to upload the firmware, when my phone arrived it had the same RMX3370_11_A.03 and it uploaded by itself without vpn or anything to RMX3370_11_A.05, from there I unlocked the bootloader and I was able to flash it by trying different regions, India, CN, Global etc...
