What is the best ICS custom rom for you? With the least bugs. Thanks! and kindly include the bugs if ever there is, and the battery life.. Thanks.
there is no stable ICS custom rom as of now.
each ICS custom rom have common bugs like no video recording,no video playback,no UMS(USB mass storage).
but if you're ok with these then you can try CM9 by Dhiru.
You also can try carbon aokp Ics

Hello Devs and Modders,
I Have created this Thread Just to Request All Devs to Develop their Project On Latest Builds like XXKPU.
I have Seen All Developments Are By Default Going on for XXKPQ While XXKPU is its Succedor,Updated, More Stable & Fast. Then i Dont Understand Why Devs Are Still Working on XXKPQ.
We now Have Value Packs Which Are Far More Stable and Fast than XXKPQ.
Earlier We Saw how Devs Shift their Development From Older build to Latest like First XXKPE then XXKPH then XXKPQ then Why Not XXKPU now.
Most Peoples in Community Now use either Latest Builds like XXKPU(2.3.6) or AOSP Roms. so Using Mods Based on XXKPQ causing Bugs.
So i Urge Devs to please Shift their Work on New and Stable Builds, Thanks You
Exactly same thread I was going to started. Anyway I also think developers should consider a latest build & develop a common stock rom for all of us. But I think now value packs are around us so then why to work still on old GB roms like xxkpq or xxkpu...!
Instead of this take DDLF2 as common latest build. Its fastest & latest GB rom in my opinion

Hi all !!
I'am back here and would like to create a more or less stock samsung ics rom !!
I have downloaded the stock Samsung galaxy S2 ics rom.
My aims in making it:
-Stock Samsung theme
-Porting TouchWiz (if possible!)
-Providing both odexed & deodexed versions.
Something more ??
Post your views of what can be added!!
This ROM can be a base ROM for other custom builds !!
Firstly, which ICS build should i take to build this ??
Serenity by hilleast
(or)
Rubelsollie's AOKP/CM9
(or)
icsforg3's AOSP
(or)
any other build which i forgot ???? (sorry if forgot mention your build !!:silly
On the other hand, i really cannot download the full git repository with a 60 kb/s connection. Also, i'm a noob in building things from sources !! That's why i'm using other dev's build to make this !!!
Your comments are awaited the most !!
I strongly believe that we'll get a fully working ics from our beloved, hard working dev's !!! :victory::highfive:

Serenity at top because it is active on forum!
Sent from my GT-I5801 using xda app-developers app
you can give it a go, but i'm not sure if its possible without fully working fimg gpu drivers
also i;ve tried aokp and serenity both. they're both good. but AOKP has fixed phone.apk while in serenity it crashes which was fixed.
I suggest: AOKP build 2 (camera works) or AOKP build 4 (camera doesn't work but there is a theme chooser)
Thanks for your replies !!
Currently AOKP build 2 and Serenity looks good.
So, which one should i finalize ??
Serenity is based on CM9 RC1 so camera, phone.apk and much more stuff doesn't work. A lot of people can't use serenity as daily rom. AOKP build 2 is 4.0.3 and "not working list" is the same as ICS forg3 build 4.

I think AOKP rom! That is the best rom! ....already has build 3 and build 4!

I think Serinity is better.
I dont really like AOKP but i would use Serenity providing you fix the phone.apk from crashing
I think that not working camera eliminates serenity. Serenity brings only theme chooser, but this rom will have stock samsung theme as default i think, so TC is useless. A lot of people want working camera, even without preview. On serenity it's impossible without kernel 3.0. So i suggest AOKP build 2.
I think you have to try MPICS 3.0. Quite stable and fast ROM:cyclops:

in hungary it is said that "for who the priest for who the clergyman's wife"
I think that icsforg3's AOSP is the best. Phone.apk and Camera are working. Try build 4 update 1.
It's true that in this ROM theme chooser doesn't work. For me this ROm can be used daily.
BTW Good luck with your project
AOKP is based on AOSP by ICS4G3...
Yep, and has a lot of tweaks, it's smooth, no Fc's.... perfect for a daily usage.
@OP
I'd suggest to go for Hillbeasts Serenity as he might solve some more thingys in future....he's looking towards JB
Well it's great that you are trying to port the ICS rom but personally i would suggest to try the GB rom. But yeah, it your choice so good luck! :good:
It is good to see another Samsung interface lover
I don't think you will be able to port stock touchwiz4 for our mobile. I think it can only work on arm v7 phones
But on xda there might be someone else who has tried to get it to work on arm v6 too
Sent from my GT-I5800
lots of recommendations... Thanks for that !....i have to finalize it soon so that i can ask the dev to make use of his work!!
Serenity/AOSP/AOKP?MPICS ???

My first custom ROM was Gingerbread Stable by Freddy(FxSxZx)
this rom was the coolest and very stable without any bug
it had whole ICS feel and settngs.
My current Custom ROM is unofficial CM7.2 by RishabAd.
Same like official CM7 but with few enhacments.
ICS themed speed optimizers and many more. Till now bug free.. :good:
First Custom Rom -- Creeds v3.0
Nice extension to the Stock rom...
Stable and bug free..
Present -- CM7 official
Fast, light and bug free - can't expect more!!!
****Do What U Love!!!
Love What U Do!!!****
I do not remember my first custom ROM.
My current custom ROM is [4.1.2] Cyanogenmod 10 by Yajnavalkya [RC-1][7-Dec-2012].
I am pleased with this ROM.
My first rom was creed which was full of bug. I dont remember which version was it. I chose that because of the number of viewers for its thread.
My current rom is officialy cm7 with V6 supercharger. It makes my phone increadebly fast and smooth. I use holo luncher and holo locker and link2sd to link apps to sd card. I also installed the JB theme for cm7 from galaxy mini forum. Everything's just fine and perfect. Thanks tj_styjle for developing thiw awesome rom

My first custom rom was CREEDS rom v1.5. I was very amazed by that rom. I still miss that rom very much. I also want to use it even today, but the link of the rom is not working, and i dont think anyone can be having it because it is a very old rom(if anyone has the rom pls inform me).
Currently im using cm7.2 official. Very fast and smooth rom. But still waiting for cm10 rc2
My 1st rom was unofficial cm7.2 i dnt remember the creator but i downloaded from androadvices also it was a smooth, good battery backup and stable rom and current rom is cm7 official latest nightly 9/12..i have almost tried every rom on thi forum..except some which i dont like..
creeds rom 3.0 my first
for about 7 month bug free good rom stable(for me at least)
then tried AOKP v9 Nightly for about a minute(no offense)
i didn't like the apps icon so i quickly changed to JANAS Rom v6.5
good rom also stable but have one bug or two
but it's very satisfying for me
First rom was Chocobread
Current rom .... CM10 by Yajnavalkya
My first ROM was Creed v3
Current is CM 7.2 and waiting for yajnab rc2
hehe..nice thread btw..
the first custom rom I tried was Andro-ID v3.3.1 by Tj_style, this was the rom that makes it worth to void my warranty by rooting my fit and installing CWM recovery (also made by Tj_style)..I remember it was using the first stable (no wifi tethering bug, CMIIW) 2.6.35.14 kernel with many features made by himself, the most stable gingerbread-based custom rom I'd say.
current rom is jana's rom v6.5, stable, highly customized, with many features.. with DXKT7 as a nice base, also.. and with seeders, it is lagfree:victory::good:
edit: it is cyanogenmod that has better performance than stock-based custom rom, but I prefer stock because I'm used to type with alphanumeric/ samsung keyboard
my first rom was creeds v3, it was nice in performance but i didnt like the graphics and customitation, and before that razodroid, it was excelent, but after some months i change to cm7official. so far the best except for battery life. and sometimes change to cm10 just for fun. waiting for cm10 rc3 oe stable
My first custom rom was cyanogenmod rc3 ( pretty old ) ported by asad with 768 kernel from squadzone, it was pretty stable and with a nice battery backup too.
My current rom is JANA 6.7 with ICS theme, the best stock based rom
first rom razodroid v1
current rom
cm10
Hi, I'm new to this device as a friend gave it to me. I've read a lot about flashing, stock and custom roms but I can't see a stable custom rom. As far as I've understood ICS and up roms are still not stable enough, so I may go for a GB rom but don't know what.
BTW if I go to a stock rom is there a way to maintain CWM or would I have to flash it again after flashing stock?
Best & stable Gingerbread rom:

Follow the instructions carefully.
Good luck!

You read a lot and you can't see a stable custom ics/jb ROM??? My advice: Stay at GB... Stock rom is the best for you.

Probably this is a best solution for this moment I'm using this rom. Easy to install and easy to use. I'ts smooth quick and solid on my SG I9003 SCL
Thanks for your recommendations but any of that roms have worked 'cause I'm having this problem. I've installed Bam's Custom Kernel and 4ext convertor script and I'm able to get /data working, so then I flash any of that custom roms but I'm stuck again on bootloops.
this one also very good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024076
GB ROM: The Frankenstein Mod is very good(no bugs and a lot of bloatware removed). I used it for many months and then switched to Alpha 5.
Jelly Bean: Dhiru's Alpha 5
The best of all roms for the SL cleaner faster and 4.2.2!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2299301&page=82
Try the new 4.2.2 ROM from master Dirhu with Kernel 3.0
It has some few bugs at the moment but it is working very very smoothly (better than a sock one). My phone is like a new one with this ROM.
It comes with Cyanogenmod 10.1
