A) Please make a useful title not just please help, as the chances are people will not help
B) The enter key is your friend....
This should be fixed by going back into recovery and wiping data/factory reset, these errors normally come up due to the ROM install not doing this itself

Picked up a used G1 with power up issues. Did my research and came to the conclusion that I needed to do a reset. Did the wipe, factory reset and then flashed RC29 with no problems. Hacked it a bit to activate with no data plan.

Phone works great.
Fast forward a day and get a OTA update (via wifi) to install. Seems to install fine, phone info says its now at 1.6 (Donut). On reboot get a (No Service) message and when I unlock the screen get the following message:
"Sorry!
The application Google Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The only option is to force close. I am then confronted by another screen:
"Sorry!
The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Again, the only option is to force close.
Done this entire routine twice now, as well as trying to manually flash the updates (can't get past the update from CRB43 to CRC1, it aborts).
Just trying to get this phone to 1.6 and operating properly. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Just recently my phone stopped working and shows the following error message: THE PROCESS COM.ANDROID.PHONE HAS STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY. PLEASE TRY AGAIN. Then, the only choice is a button FORCE CLOSE. When I click it the error message pops up again within 2 seconds. I have no clue what I did to cause this. My Captivate is rooted with Cyanogen7 MOD loaded. I loaded Cyanogen about a week ago but the error message started two days ago.
Any ideas?
Did you flash any themes, dialers, battery indicators lately? Anything at all that could have caused this?
Next time your phone does this, try plugging it into your computer and type 'adb logcat'.
Assuming you have the SDK installed, it will tell you what is causing it.
OR you could go into Titanium backup and wipe the data for that process and reboot.
Hello,
Im a newbie in what about Android is, but I already have rooted my TF101 before, so Im not so newbie in technology.
My previous installation was with ICS 4.0.3
Now, I was looking something better and I found this thread, which contains the update to JB 4.2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010903
I have installed the ClockWorkmod Recovery v5.8.3.4 and I have made the wipe data/factory reset
Then I have installed from zip the v0.5.0.zip package I have download from the upside link.
When it finish I have installed 4.2_gapps-jb-20121119.zip
And at the end I have installed the 4.2_addon.zip file
Everything looks like no one problems, but when I choose "reboot system now", the ClockWork mod recovery starts again, and again.
Then I think it was something for the recovery automatic option, then I press the down volume key when it start and I choose the Cold boot with Android to start up.
It looks perfectly, but after it apply the changes and go forward with the wizard. Before finish, when I try to add my gmail account it cannot connect or give me the error "unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped" and I can just click ok. It starts again the wizard but never can complete so I never can access my OS.
I try removing the cache, doing another wipe data/factory reset and now I when I try to complete the wizard, I go to configure gmail account and receive the error:
"Cant establish a reliable connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem. Try again or connect to another Wi-Fi network"
I have tried installing again, etc, without success. There is something wrong or there is a fix for this? For what Im learning about Android it looks like a gapps problem, but also I try installing an older version and I never get complete the wizard.
I also try complete the wizard connecting to another wifi connection without success. Im stopped in this point from the last 2 days and I dont know what to do (I have a backup with 4.0.3 but I would love to get 4.2).
Can somebody help me?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best regards,
Matias
Hi there, I'm having a major problem trying to fix this and I'm tearing my hair out!
I did a hard reset of my Alcatel One Touch 983, but I can't get past the setup wizard when I switch it on. I get as far as trying to log into my google account when I get the following message:
The application Setup Wizard (Process
com.jrdcom.JrdSetupWizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
There is no way I can skip the wizard, or get out of it - it just gives that message and when you press OK it goes right back to the start.
I've looked all over for a possible solution for this but no joy. I've tried to reinstall the firmware by using the one touch upgrade tool, but it says I already have the most recent version and won't do anything. I've downloaded a firmware, but there's no recovery menu function on the phone that I can use to install it.
I've also tried to get into recovery using cmd, but it says it cant detect the device. I've tried installing different drivers, but Windows says it already has drivers and also won't do anything.
Can any of you nice people help? It's driving me up the wall, and I'm about to throw the blasted phone through a window!
u may send an sms to the phone linking to third party launcher. open it thru playstore(of course need to have data plan or wifi). install it & open the launcher. u could get past the setup wizard at least but gonna have to use only third party launcher only. Next time u turn off the phone, have to repeat the same
Hello,
Today my rooted xperia z3 suddenly keep popping up "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" error after i soft reset
the problem is there is only one ok button on that error dialog. and if i press ok it keep showing the same error again and again
i google it and tried some suggestion like clearing facebook cache, disabling and renable the download manager, i even tried to clear the cache and dalvik cache in the recovery tools. but it still the same,
so i'm forced to reset to factory setting my xperia because i need to use whatsapp urgently
but after reset to factory setting it still show up the gapps stopped error in the language chooser, and i can't past that language chooser since i cant click continue without the error dialog keep popping up.
so is there something i could to remove this error dialog, currently im gonna try to reflash the newer rooted rom and see if that could fix the error
btw since a week or two ago, my xperia sometime pop up play store stopped working error, but it disappear after i clicked ok
my device is xperia z3 using the rooted original rom (i have used it for couple month)
