[Q] TF101 - wizard has stopped after flash w/Android 4.2 - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
Im a newbie in what about Android is, but I already have rooted my TF101 before, so Im not so newbie in technology.
My previous installation was with ICS 4.0.3
Now, I was looking something better and I found this thread, which contains the update to JB 4.2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010903
I have installed the ClockWorkmod Recovery v5.8.3.4 and I have made the wipe data/factory reset
Then I have installed from zip the v0.5.0.zip package I have download from the upside link.
When it finish I have installed 4.2_gapps-jb-20121119.zip
And at the end I have installed the 4.2_addon.zip file
Everything looks like no one problems, but when I choose "reboot system now", the ClockWork mod recovery starts again, and again.
Then I think it was something for the recovery automatic option, then I press the down volume key when it start and I choose the Cold boot with Android to start up.
It looks perfectly, but after it apply the changes and go forward with the wizard. Before finish, when I try to add my gmail account it cannot connect or give me the error "unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped" and I can just click ok. It starts again the wizard but never can complete so I never can access my OS.
I try removing the cache, doing another wipe data/factory reset and now I when I try to complete the wizard, I go to configure gmail account and receive the error:
"Cant establish a reliable connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem. Try again or connect to another Wi-Fi network"
I have tried installing again, etc, without success. There is something wrong or there is a fix for this? For what Im learning about Android it looks like a gapps problem, but also I try installing an older version and I never get complete the wizard.
I also try complete the wizard connecting to another wifi connection without success. Im stopped in this point from the last 2 days and I dont know what to do (I have a backup with 4.0.3 but I would love to get 4.2).
Can somebody help me?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best regards,
Matias

Problem "Sorry cannot start that application"

Trying to open PDF of office doc from file explorer and getting the error "sorry cannot start this application"
I know it worked in the past. Tried a reset, but hangs on gTablet screen. Force power off, reboot and still has all my data.
Any suggestions? running 3588 build.. should be stock ... went through new user setup when i flashed 3588. would CWM clear data help?
A reset shouldn't take long should it?
I just installed docs to go and got past this. Still don't know why I can't do a factory reset... ah well. Maybe next release.

[Q] How to get WiFi working back on Hannspree SN10T1 after Flashback 5.5 rom flash ?

Hi everyone,
I come here as an humble foe, having no idea how to sort this out
I tested installing Flashback Rom 5.5
So i install the stock rom using ADB > Download, reboot, wipe data cache and dalvir, reboot, copy update.zip, reboot into recovery and launch the install.
Everything completes perfectly. Upon first boot, i try and setup wifi after my account on the tablet is set, but does not work. Having read on some other threads that is may not work before you reboot i rebooted and retried, still the same issue.
While browsing the wifi menu and clicking on "Wifi" to enable, it says : Error" after some time, and goes back to gray with error below. Every single try results in an "Error" message.
Question : Do you guys know a simple way to port the wifi drivers from the stock Froyo rom to the FB HC rom ?
I have to admit i have close to no knowledge unfortunately in Linux/Android
If so, thanks in advance. Might be a tricky question i presume...

[Q] Setup Wizard failure (Milestone A853)

Flashed CM9 alpha. After it reboot I pressed the Android logo then something popped up "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped" can someone help me I've been finding for answer for almost a week. thank you!
Try doing a factory reset from recovery mode. If that doesn't work then try flashing the ROM again, as it could be corrupt (but that's very unlikely if it works at all).

[Q] Alcatel 983 setup wizard crashing after hard reset

Hi there, I'm having a major problem trying to fix this and I'm tearing my hair out!
I did a hard reset of my Alcatel One Touch 983, but I can't get past the setup wizard when I switch it on. I get as far as trying to log into my google account when I get the following message:
The application Setup Wizard (Process
com.jrdcom.JrdSetupWizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
There is no way I can skip the wizard, or get out of it - it just gives that message and when you press OK it goes right back to the start.
I've looked all over for a possible solution for this but no joy. I've tried to reinstall the firmware by using the one touch upgrade tool, but it says I already have the most recent version and won't do anything. I've downloaded a firmware, but there's no recovery menu function on the phone that I can use to install it.
I've also tried to get into recovery using cmd, but it says it cant detect the device. I've tried installing different drivers, but Windows says it already has drivers and also won't do anything.
Can any of you nice people help? It's driving me up the wall, and I'm about to throw the blasted phone through a window!
u may send an sms to the phone linking to third party launcher. open it thru playstore(of course need to have data plan or wifi). install it & open the launcher. u could get past the setup wizard at least but gonna have to use only third party launcher only. Next time u turn off the phone, have to repeat the same

[Q] After disabling ATT, hell broke loose.

I have the shield tablet LTE version and after connecting to WIFI it immediately installed all OTAs upto the hotfix also. So here I am sitting with lollipop in my tablet and I decide to go for rooting and CWM installation.. After rooting using adb/fastboot and installing CWM image, I decide to disable ATTall access because I read that it stops the portable hotspot from working. So, did that and then process after process started crashing. First it started with background data not being enabled (playstore wouldn't open) , NVidia hub crashing, google text to speech crashing, etc.
So, I went to cwm and did factory reset. At the initial stages itself where it asks for language setup, the google text to speexh crashes and I cannot click next or proceed forward.
I flash the Lollipop OTA once again thinking it would overwrite the system but it didn't.. and the same issue keeps happening..
Now what do I do?
Regards
Alden
An update to the mess i was in...
I tried recovery mode at the fastloader boot menu and I got the robot lying down with a red exclamation mark sign. I pressed vol + key and it opened the original recovery I think. I wiped user data from this menu and rebooted. and now it has come to the original screen setup and so far no process crashes...
What could have caused this entire mess?
I am not sure what would cause your issues but i believe your best bet is to download the full rom image for your tablet and flash it via fastboot. That should get you back up and running. (Be warned doing this will erase everything on your tablet!! SD card will be untouched)
By fullmrom u mean the one from the nvidia developer website right?
Yes that is the one! I am currently at work so I cant post a link to it but if you need it ill try to post it once im off, in about 30-ish minutes. Good luck! (p.s. last resort is RMA)
Is your shield up and running once again? Just wanted to get an update. =]
Thanks javydawg, I didnt use the one on nvidias developer website as i simply did not have enough data left in my Internet plan .. its 2.3 gb in size... after recoVery i was left with lollipop so i flashed a 750 mb file tht i gt from these forums and updated it to the latest version.. i still haven't pinpointed the reason for my earlier trouble but will shout out if it happens again... have to be careful cos not sure if RMA is possible for me in India...
