I know that these are largely software forums but does anyone know how to put a new screen in one of these please? I just picked up one and a spare and have got the back off but cant see how to get the front off it to plug the screen into the logic board
or can someone move this message to the appropriate forum please?
HI,
The otherday i was cleaning and changing the case of my Magician.
I made a wrong move and pulled out the camera, lucky the camera was connected by what it looks like a socket.
So yea, im just wondering, would it be possible to buy another camera module, coz the camera is just plain crap.
im just looking at ways of improving my magician lol.
whitemoo.
if its a standard conection id say yes i did a cam change on an old nec e808y it worked so i cant see why not id head off to maplin and pick up a cam let me know how you get on or if you get stuck
Actually the Magician's camera is a bit... weird. It hangs off by a thin parallel connection instead of being soldered to the board, which I don't think many other cameras do. I dunno, I've given up all hope on that terrible camera
ive just about given up hope to, im only wondering cause my real digicamera is in repair, and im itching to take photo's.
I was looking at aftermarket parts for camera phones, and saw camera modules which looked like they had similar connections, so there might be hope.
When i do get my real digicamera back from repair ill take some high res shots of the connector, and aftermarket case's for reference on this forum.
Whitemoo.
yer get some shots of where it connects to the phone as well
Can anyone give me a detailed description of how to change the case of O2 mini. I have tried to open the case many times but failed. iam afraid i might void the warranty.
Hi maharishi_b,
ill be giving my detailed photo's of the inside of the xda mini soon, and photo's of aftermarket cases i bought off ebay, compared to the original. This will all come soon.
you will need a plastic case opener similar to what they use to open the ipod's, and a torx screwdriver.
Theres a post with pictures on how to open it, but i cant seem to find it.
Whitemoo.
Torx size 6 to be precise. Stupid seller who sold me my casing shipped me a size 5, and I almost made the bottom two screws round before I realised.
Also I dont use the plastic case opener - I find a thin metal thing to be more effective, though I dont know what its called - it holds the binding thing... nevermind.
If anyone remembers, I had made a post about me dropping my Triumph, and I mentioned that It would no longer take a charge. Anyways I wanted to know if I had broken the glass or the lcd. Now before you ask why the **** did I scratch out the serial numbers. I thought there might have been a hidden screw under that plastic. Of course I'm a noob at this, and honestly I just took pics of the serial numbers as backups. So yeah I just need to find a screen replacement/digitizer. Here are some terrible pics hahaa.... http://imgur.com/a/3sa6z
Did you happen to notice if we can do anything with the antenna?
Would you mind elaborating a bit. In terms of messing with the antenna and changing it? Just let me know I would gladly take more precise pictures.
I didn't even manage to find an antennae there.... Am I blind or is it hiding on another side of a PCB?
Check out Repairs Universe .com for the digi!!
too bad. you could have warranty exchanged it
Okay, so, I cracked my phones camera lens while at work. Don't know how, don't know when. I just know that it was at work. I'm placing pictures of how it looks and what it looks like to take pictures, below. taking pictures and videos looks foggy and and leave a halo effect on the corner. Also, I don't think it will focus anymore when touching the screen. My question is, what replacement part do I need to get this fixed? I have a NA Nexus 5 (not that this type of problem should matter whether or not it's NA or not) Also, does anyone recommend a place or a link that they have for the replacement part? Thanks for your help.

That's the part you need. It has the lens embedded in it.

Hi, I'm a new member to this forum! I've been looking for OPO's styleswap cover forever but it's near impossible to find it now in 2020. So, I looked around oneplus's forums and found the .stl file for the phone with the correct dimension. Maybe I can 3D print it?
I've never learn how to edit a mesh, or anything related to 3D modeling and was playing around with Fusion 360 (Apparently Undergrads can get a educational version so I used that) to edit the mesh so that only the back cover and the important hinges are intact. I've done the editing last year and posted onto the OnePlus subreddit, but the post was buried...
Attached is my Google Drive folder to the original .stl file that was used for some peripheral contest for the OPO (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-x-ultimaker-creative-contest.270990/) and the one that I've edited. I can't seem to fix the bottom left hand corner hinge as it was model in a way that Fusion will delete that face too...
I hope someone can help me check if this cover is acceptable, give me some advice on how to fix it and maybe help me improve on a bit?

The OnePlus_One_Back is the one that I've edited.
