[Q] clock in status bar frozen - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi
My clock app stop working around 8:45PM and also my phone works slow during that period.
everything works well after 4:00 AM ....?
I notice my alarm don't work in between that time and also no time update on any widget or on status bar time..
During that time if i try to install any app from app store than it also not work they will stuck at installing and never
finish that installation process...Also my phone get hotter during that period and it use more battery power
like it use 30% battery in 2 hr
Once it pass 8:45 PM it stay that time on status bar unless you reboot phone and after reboot it works for 5 min
and then again get Frozen to last state...
I have two android device (One X+ , nexus 7 both root and unlocked bootloader and has stock ROM )both device
doing same thing.
I thought it's a malware or virus so I wipe my phone and put custom ROM on it but I still have that Problem in my
phone...?
So it might be any app that cause that problem or something else that trigger at certain time
I am totally confuse how can i solve this problem...?
Any one have that problem ...?

Hmmmm just had a weird issue with a app

Came from dark and sinistar to ultimate rom. All the sudden about 2 hours in, every time I turn my phone on, the lock screen don't come up and it just is ready to play.. I was like wtf its this rom. Flashed back to dark and sinistar and now the same thing. Goes straight into the system bypassing the lock screen. So I hard reset, wiped data, dalvike and hard reset.. Now lockscreen works again. so I flash back to ultimate, check lock and its golden. Restore my tb and check again, everything is fine, lock screens there...
So about 20 mins in I realize the battery meter on this rom don't show %, so I opened my usual battery indicator app and I got my% in the task bar now...
Ok, I shut phone off to standby, turn back on and no lockscreen, I instantly think battery indicator. I delete app and check lockscreen again and it works..
So both times flashing ultimate I installed battery indicator and know that was my issue.... So weird how a app can cause so many issues, and from this little deal I believe the issues people have are app related. Could even cause reboots.. Hell this app made my lockscreen disappear and I've been using that app forever on different phones and roms..
Battery indicator is my culprit, I'm sure yours is a app also...
nm found it

Suddenly having extremely weird system issues/resets.

Hello there everyone. I've had my HTC Sensation since September and so far it has been a very enjoyable experience, with only one abnormal reset. However, in the past two days, some weird stuff has happened.
Every once in a while, I see the stock lockscreen flicker over my current screen (Even in an app). It is currently disabled by WidgetLocker as well.
The first day I had installed SweeterHome 2, StatusBar +, and also the application Faster Drawer. The first reset happened as I went to open Faster Drawer (Not for the first time, however). It then rebooted, but things seemed to work fine. Also, the app Profile Scheduler was no longer able to change the screen brightness when I clicked on a profile, just the other settings. I had to go into Android settings to do it manually. (There I found the slider down to 0 as I wanted it, and when I touched it, the screen brightness lowered to where it was supposed to be)
The second reset happened today and was even weirder. I was looking through my Minimal Reader widget when I was interrupted by the white and green HTC boot logo, and the phone took a few minutes to reset. When it came to, all of my widgets were gone, and replaced by "Tap to restore" squares (On both WidgetLocker and SweeterHome 2)
I really have no clue what is going on, though I am very disappointed by the reboots, especially for losing the widgets (Basically my entire homescreen was made of them, it will take a long time to restore). The only thing I messed with was the Accessibility applications; I had to check the one for StatusBar + and I clicked the one for WidgetSoid Notifications, but then disabled it. (Which by the way, the WidgetSoid notification toggles no longer work until I use the system toggle for data, then I can start using them)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using a stock, unrooted HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile, running 2.3.4, and it had that firmware update by T-Mobile a few months ago.

the most ugly thing is i saw it with another sensation user in my famely to before i bought my phone. it got sended away by warrenty got back prob solved but more arised it began also after couple months. mine started doing it i rooted/s-off mine and started testing roms wich one feld like i wanted to use. because of quick changing i cound watch that after an rom from here the prob got solved so here are my suggestions:
1 send it and maybe get a worse phone back(telling from experience)
2 root/s-off test some roms and away goes problem
The issue just became worse. This time, without a reset, my WidgetLocker widgets were lost again, and replaced by the "Tap to restore" dialog. I was playing music at the time with the screen off (no other apps running), and it was not interrupted. When I went to unlock the phone, they were gone.
Any thoughts? This seems like a pretty serious issue to me. I'd like to stay stock since I don't have the money to replace the phone if something were to go wrong.
Try removin the apps and see if that helps, you seem to have alot on there that removes or modifies functionality

Random system crashes and slow bootup (multiple custom ROMs)

I seem to have really strange issues with this phone.
I've tried both C-Rom and Cyanogen and both of them have these same issues.
When I first turn on the phone, it will run, but everything will stutter around at about 1-2 fps for about 2 minutes. I can confirm that this happens even with no 3rd party apps installed.
Secondly, half the time when I go to grab the phone and just check notifications and so on, I'll unlock it and try to press something and it'll be frozen. I have to wait about 2 minutes before I can do anything else on it. The only thing I can do in this time is lock the screen, but not unlock it. I can tell it frozen at a low level because I have a system setting in C-Rom to play a sound when the battery dis/reconnected and that doesn't play while it's in this state. Has anyone else been experiencing this? I've already completely wiped the phone completely once using the return to stock guide and these issues have not been resolved.
Had the same problem with stock ROM or tried with GPE? Might be a hardware problem...

Are you still having these issues or did you find a fix for them? I have the Boost Mobile one, but are you suggesting that I could/should put the GPE ROM on here?
Isn't this a memory usage ( ram ) problem that's been mentioned?
Sent from my XT1032 using xda app-developers app
The first part (FPS issue) happens to me, whe the phone boots, the FPS go down, bad, but the phone works ok, if i put the stopwatch app (CM11) time runs normally but the screen refreshes every half second or more.
Now, the second problem, about the phone freezing whan it wakes up, never happened to me, but i have to recognize that i had a few (2 or 3) reboots just when i waked up the phone and one time it just freezed with the screen off.

mm-qcamera-daemon on 4.4.4

I had this on 4.4.2 but 4.4.3 fixed it. I'm on 4.4.4 now and have been since it came out, but all of a sudden last week, mm-qcamera-daemon came back and I'm not alone.
With L just around the corner, I doubt there will be any fix for this from Google, so what's the best way of finding out which app is keeping this service alive?
P.S. I have neither Skype, Instagram, nor Snapchat installed - and never have done - so it's not them.
Did you have a camera app running in the background? ie. minimized it without swiping it away.
Nah, nothing like that. I'll even get it when I boot my phone, open no apps at all, and charge to 100% before unplugging from the charger - this action seems to be the cause of the daemon, like some of the other users on that issue report are saying. Never mind, I guess I'll just wait it out until L.
I have never had this problem on my nexus 5 until today (I bought the Nexus 5 on day one)!
This process is draining all my battery!!
The only app I installed in the past week is "Google Opinion Rewards" which was installed 6 hours ago.
Please help if you find a solution
UPDATE 1: I just noticed, via CPU-Z, that all 4 cores are continuously active at high frequency and the phone is overheating
UPDATE 2: Problem is still there even after removing "Google Opinion Rewards"
Just reflash the stock firmware and see if it continues.
Best thing to do with any issue that a solution can't be found for easily. ?

the camera daemon is supposed to appear. its not supposed to stay around, draining battery. especially at 100%, you will see it, as the phone uses it a little bit, and you havent used the phone at all. it will show up. the question is, if you dont use the camera at all, and it appears in your battery stats, after a full cycle of use, how much battery does it take? chances are that by the end of your battery cycle, it wont even be in your battery stats.

I actually fixed it now by flashing the system image and restoring all my apps via Titanium Backup, but I swear I'd never even open Camera for it to occur, and I don't have any third party camera apps. It would constantly be active without opening any camera apps at all.
edit- also Google have restated that they're looking into this bug and have marked it urgent, so anyone else getting it - don't panic too much, it's most likely not a problem you've caused.
I suspect the Hangouts/Hangouts dialer. I updated the app few days ago (no other installs), today was the first time that I got this issue (got my Nexus in February). Also first time since updating I used the camera, followed by battery drain/ daemon/ "failed to connect camera" etc.
I think its because of android wear
With android wear u can access the camera, hence u will be seeing the camera drain for sure. i unpaired my watch for few days and i didnt have this problem till now
I had this problema today morning, my android version is 4.4.4, In my case I used yesterday the camera to attach a photo inside the facebook messenger, maybe this buggy app make this mess in my case.
I reboot and waiting for the results
Same here
Everything was ok from 4.4.2 till 4.4.4. But suddenly week ago discovered mm-qcamera-daemon issue, tried many things without success. I am using phone in safe mode (facepalm).
Waiting official Android L or fix from google.
I got the same issue now!
Started today, what the hell?
Some apps will keep the camera wakelocks going. Freeze anything that can possibly use the camera and see what happens.
Or just clean flash stock, and see if its OK. If so... Install a handful of apps per day.... Then if it goes nuts you know it's an app you've just installed.

I think i had this fixed. Ihave a rooted nexus 5 stock rom. Installed greenify, pirchased the donate version and had the camera app greenified. No more mm-qcamera-daemon showing up on my battery stats. No more "cannot connect to camera" issues. (So far it's been 2days without it.
camera block app
i see this issue occurs when i use skype or any camera related app in my grand 2 4.4.2 / only way i keep the issue at bay is use camera block app.. which i keep it turned on when i am not really using the camera.
this seem to keep this daemon under control and not drain my battery .

[HELP] Time stucks when screen locks.

Hello pro bros,
my friend has a sony xperia L running stock android 4.2.2, NOT rooted, and no calendar or clock or lock third party apps installed.
and here is the problem,
When screen is locked Time Freezes! (like when an app suspended)
lock screen Clock shows correct time, but clock in notification (right-up corner) freezed.
and suddenly after unlocking screen clock will be OK.
Things I done:
restart phone
Run without SIM
Run with different SIM
Change Time settings (24/12, Automatic/manual, ...)
connect to any other wifi router!
Run in SafeMode
Only thing I did not Done is Factory reset or reFlash, because the main problem for him is that "Alarm clock not working but its not matter because I have a real dock clock! "
but I really want to know where is the problem, its no matter to fix.

sounds easily like SystrmUI.apk is freezing.... have you any battery saver app that could maybe force close it?
SystemUI.apk is a system apk that manages the Statusbar, notifications on bar, and the buttonts on downside...(back,menu,app-drawer)
if this app got freeze or force closed by battery saver (wakelock detector etc) the showed time will freeze also
edit: another cause could be the using of a Theme
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks @SdtBarbarossa , I will check it out and will post the results.
till I now there was no battery saver app but not sure about themes.

Rather than a solution, this is wiping out (or erasing, or covering over) the question, He done the Factory reset!!!!
restarting the phone 3-4 times did the job for me
