[Q] Music starts playing on phone start up and won't stop... ***W/ VIDEO*** - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Alright so here's some background info first:
Verizon Galaxy S3, OTA'd to VRBLK3, rooted/unlocked using this method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439), phone is pretty much stock other than TWRP recovery and the phone is rooted. I also froze only a few Verizon/Touchwiz apps. I've had the phone only for a few weeks now and rooted/unlocked since the OTA to VRBLK3. I've had zero issues after root.
Now onto the problem at hand:
I went to reboot my phone today after a browser freeze up and noticed a song playing when the phone booted up. It didn't go away... as I was going through App Processes looking for something that stood out as to what and why this song was playing and found nothing. Pulled down the notification bar and it stopped. Questioning what it was I went into ringtones and found out it was playing "Over the Horizon" ringtone... Rebooted again to see if it was just a fluke and again it played the song when the phone started up... This time the pull down of the notification bar didn't stop the music like I had thought. Pulled the battery and turned on the phone again to only hear the music start up again... The notification pull down stopped the music again and I've just left it alone and it hasn't started again.
I'm just wondering if anyone else ran into this issue or if anyone has any insight as to how this happened. Mind you, I've been running my current setup of installed apps/settings for weeks with no issue on reboots. Now I've got a song that plays non stop whenever I reboot my phone... Other than a full wipe and starting all over any suggestions???

Here is a quick video I just made with the issue:
*** Please excuse the desktop/lockscreen wallpapers lol they are SFW btw ***
** Also, if you hear crickets in the background... its my lizards food lol **
* Finally, sorry for sidways view... first time youtuber lol *

Wipe Dalvic and cache in recovery and reboot.

Wiped delvik and cache ... no dice. After the apps optimized the music started right up again... rebooted again just to be sure and it still plays the music

Hmm tried deleting the audio file and it still plays on system start up ... I have no idea where the file is and why it plays

I am having this exact same issue today. It is playing the stock boot up sound but it doesn't stop. I can use the phone fine but this music just keeps playing.

Any luck on solving the issue? I suddenly started to have the same problem.

Me too, on a verizon s5.

Same here. Tmobile s5

For me, it seems to be the battery full notification sound.
I can also confirm that it is linked to the notification volume.

Ok, so I noticed that it started after I updated some xposed framework modules. I uninstalled xposed and rebooted. It's now stopped.
Anyone else?

Sometimes Xposed and Wanam modules don't play well even when they aren't installed together. A lot of times its just a rogue module that interacts with another app or process.

If you go into the thread for gravitybox kk, this issue is actually addressed. They posted an apk that should fix that bug

Music player apk's

I have tried a couple of music players and they start but always freeze on me.
Only thing I could think of was I froze the drm.apk. I unfroze anything I could think of but still have problems. My phone just froze up anytime I try and use the music app. I can start to play a song but thats it.

that drm apk needs to be unfrozen me thinks
blazing through on my Galaxy Nexus via XDA app
Yeah thats what I thought.
Digital Rights Management of something like that. I unfroze the 3 I thought pertained to that and still had problems.
clear the caches and data on the music player reboot.
I lowered my memory settings and that seemed to help.
I've been freezing DRM related stuff for almost 2 years now without any harm to media playback so i doubt that's the problem. Glad you got it figured out though.

Well now that you say that I will go back and freeze those and see what happens.
Seems like the memory settings could have been the problem. Couldnt multitask because it ran out of memory.

[Q] Apps launching slow

I am on CleanRom 3.0 right now, fresh install. Now, for the problem. Today while sitting in class I took my phone out to see it was booted into safe mode. So I rebooted it back, and noticed a lot of my downloaded apps were launching 10-25 seconds after I clicked to open them. So, I rebooted again. That didn't work. I cleared cache and dalvik cache. That didn't work. So, I dirty flashed CleanRom 3.0, which still didn't work. After driving and listening to spotify in my car, the apps launched completely fine, and still are. Does anyone know why this is happening? By the way, this happened on my rooted stock rom, that's why I switched roms. I don't know if this could cause any issues, but I do use Directory Bind.
Have you checked if power saver is on?
Another possibility could be a lot of applications running the background and just slowing your phone down.
Check your task manager by holding the home button for about 2-3 seconds.
Yea, power saving is off. And there isn't any apps running in the background when it's ran slow. Most stock apps will launch fast (settings, phone, clock), but downloaded ones won't (I funny, handcent sms). I seriously can't figure out what the issue is. I've even tried messing around with set cpu, but that didn't help.

Turning volume up and down pauses playback

Hey
Whenever I open up a media player on the phone or just youtube, and i either turn the volume up or down, it pauses the playback, can anyone tell me what could be causing this? Its been happening to both me and my girlfriends One Mini since we did the latest OTA update, and ive tried pretty much everything i could think of to get rid off it, but no luck
Have you tried a factory reset? I heard this fixed another issue related to Bluetooth. If you do remember to BACKUP.

do you have xposed framework installed and sense 5 toolbox? maybe try looking in there, also what rom are you running

Music bug since the update of 5.1.1

Everytime when I turn off my screen while listening with headphones on or off, my music disrupts after a period of 6 seconds.
Now I have tried a various things to fix it, and strangely enough disabling the lock screen (any type of security ) fixes this issue)
Might any of you know a better alternative to make my life easier? I don't want to leave my phone insecured for the sake of listening to music.
Thank you.

Reflash with stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin.
Have you (TS) tried the solution provided above? I'm experiencing the bug as well. It's really irritating.
I managed to fix the problem by clearing the system cache. Just boot into odin, clear the cache and restart the phone.
(I didn't reflash the stock rom)

Thanks for the reply. When you mean boot into odin, did you mean recovery? I have done that as well, but it seems that it didn't fix the problem for me.
To add another solution to this bug, I downloaded and flashed the stock ROM for my phone. Apparently, it fixed the bug.
Yes that's what I meant, sorry for the confusion. I might as well do the same. Thanks for the heads up !

Heya, sorry to bring this topic back again to life. Apparently, the fix was only temporary. The bug reappeared after a few hours. I might try a clean install just to see if this gets fixed.
Edit: My device model number is SM-G920F

Do you have greenify installed and have the music app set to greenify? Also are you using the built in close app feature? The one found in battery stats. If so do you have the app set to auto kill? This feature kills all selected apps after a certain time of the screen being turned off.

I haven't installed Greenify yet on my S6. I had it on my S4, but it wasn't causing any problems at all. I checked the close app feature, and Music app wasn't placed there. The Music app crashes, it doesn't just close; without any warning message or whatever.
Update: I did a factory reset/data wipe via recovery mode, and used Odin to install a fresh 5.1.1. I tried the Music app, and it doesn't crash. I hope it wouldn't crash anymore.

Did the fresh install fixed the problem completely? I have it as well and it's super annoying, it will be super annoying to have to download my apps again but i will if it fixes the problem.

Unfortunately, it did not. To be exact, it fixed the problem for about a week, but the problem appeared again. Try using Power Amp music player, it's working well for me. I'm tempted to buy the full version after this trail version expires. Spending 1$ would be way better than getting annoyed all the time by the default music player.

Freezing and black screen

Frequently freezes. When listening to music, music will just pause, and when I try to wake the phone, it isn't possible the screen just remains black and buttons are unresponsive. Freezing still occurs even in safe mode. I've tried clearing cache but nothing works.
Had same issue yesterday til i hard reset the phone. MM6.0.1 stock rooted, xposed, busybox, and running some modded kernel. Not really worried it happened once in the few weeks running this. Oh i was using MXplayer watching a movie.
