Hi Guys..!!!
You guys are so great, doing all those development, tweaks, porting and all that...
:good: Great job..!!!
But here I just got stuck in my stock ROM...
:crying: Please help me to get out of this boring situation.
ABOUT MY PHONE:
Model Number : LG P500
Android Version : 2.2.2
Kernel Version : 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build Number : FRG83
Software Version : V10e-MAR-28-2011
My device is rooted.
Please suggest me what to do???
It's rooted, good. Next steps are to install custom recovery, and flash a ROM. You need to decide which custom recovery to use (I think most use CWM), and most importantly which ROM to use. You want CM7? CM9? CM10? Some variant? MIUI?
Other thing to consider is that you're currently on old baseband (V10e). You will probably need to upgrade to new baseband (V20) to use most ROMs. Do this by using the official LG update tool.
Edit: Use LG update tool to upgrade baseband before you flash new ROM.
Also, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152306
Doubt...!!!

Thanks...
But little confused...
To upgrade to new baseband (V20), I need to download P500-v20G-baseband.7z OR P500-v10E-baseband.7z
v10 = old baseband
v20 = new baseband

So your installation via ROM manager isnt working
so you'll have to do it via your pc or fastboot
just read the instructions properly
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-a-custom-recovery-to-an-android-phone-device/
or i would suggest you follow the method posted by post-mortem,
i think you will find this method easier
Get this app: Flash Image GUI. Also get the recovery zip file of your choice from this page, and extract the file "recovery.img" from it. The recoveries in that link are only of Optimus One. If you are following this for another device, use a supported recovery and get it's *.img file. Put it on your sd card. Run the app, select recovery image, and browse to the .img file on your sdcard. The app will flash the recovery. This will work on the O1/Optimus T. This will also work on the Optimus V/M according to app's market page, but if you have any problems you can also try method 'd' given below.

Re-install rom manager
Instead of doing such a long procedure...first try to re-install rom manager and go into a place with good network coverage and try to download the recovery.

HY, if your question is how to flash recovery, than is pretty simple.First go to playstore, then find Rom manager, from there you will download CWM.Then reboot into stockk recovery(the one your phone allready has)/choose reinstall package (do it two times),and then reboot into recovery.IMPORTANT, do not erase the CWM file, because every time you flash recovery ,it needs the zip file. PLEASE PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED YOU!!!!

With this he could brick his device...If the phone doesn't have the recovery available or if it has a locked bootloader he can't do this. Please don't spread disinformation as it could harm other people's devices. And to the OP if you could get a stock recovery.img and if the bootloader is unlocked you could use the cwm builder to get the recovery and then fastboot to flash it.

You can't just flash any recovery on any device, doing so could PERMANENTLY DAMAGE it. I've been doing stuff like this for quite some time and I know stuff like this. And yes, he has to search about it. It will take more time but it will take a lot more if he destroys his device. And yes it IS YOUR FAULT if you give him completely wrong instructions and he destroys his phone by following them. So if you are unsure about something or you don't know something then don't post it, since it can only make things bad not help.

first of all thanks for the link...but do clarify one thing:
I have already installed drivers for my phone through pda net while rooting my phone..do i need to uninstall the drivers of the phone & again install it?
It will be greatly helpful if you mention the exact steps you have followed in your own writing rather than the pdf which you have given as it is not very clear.(no offense)
Your help regarding this will be much appreciated..ty!
If you already rooted your phone, install mobile uncle App from play.
Place the recovery in the root of SD card.
open mobile uncle and search for recovery update.
this app will install the recovery.
hope this helps..

You have to flash recovery using spflash tools
I tried many times with other methods but it always fails
flashing will void your warranty though, but you can reflash stock rom and act dumb at the service centre and they will fix your phone for free (done this twice)
Miui, lewa os, stock modified 4.2.1(by m_jani) are the only working non crashing roms I know of, let me know if you need their links
how do i...
but how do i have to boot xolo q1000 opus in org/ cwm recovery??
not working

Not working on my device
I have a rooted S-7500, with CWM recovery 5.0.2.8 installed. I (by mistake) allowed the 'software update' option to install a system update(or something) today by mistake (I know, you should never install system updates after rooting. My bad.) Since then, the phone directly goes to the cwm recovery mode on powering on, and i am unable to do anything else
I am not very well versed with the finer details of rooting bootloader recovery n all...so pls some details with steps...if possible .
Any help whatsoever...please I will be really grateful

Just a clarification...now that i have got the stock rom back on my phone...am i right in saying that I have lost root access, my phone is totally back to the 'original' state, and i have lost CWM as well? Please correct me if I am wrong.
And assuming that I am correct(above), I would like to re-root my device(need to use proxydroid to surf internet over the damned proxy server!). So..can I follow the standard method, ie, can I do it the same way I had done before, or do i need to do something different now?
And once again...THANK YOU for your help! I had ended up hard bricking my previous phone, and was really scared when this happend to my aceP. You saved me!
Easy way to ROOT your SGAP
Yes by the time you flash stock rom you loss root even any custom recovery you flashed before...
but now if you want to root your SGAP again don't follow that guide again which you done before just follow this :
Download ODIN from Downloading link below (inside ODIN software folder)
Download any one recovery which you like TWRAP / CWM v5.5 (inside Custom recovery folder)
Download Root_SGAP.zip from Root folder & place that zip inside in your sd card
Click to collapse
Download Link : GALAXY Ace Plus - Basic stuff
FOR Custom_Recovery :
Open odin, be sure your system has already install drivers & if kies is there close it.
extract recovery zip
connect device to pc in download mod (vol down + power + home) & select that (recovery) .md5 file in pda section inside ODIN software
Click start & wait to reboot device
FOR ROOT :
Now boot device in CWM mod ( vol up + down + power + home)
choose zip from sd card & select Root_SGAP.zip
DONE.

Just 1 more qstn...is it necessary to apply a custom recovery before rooting? If no, is it recommended?? Because the last time i rooted, it made me put a custom recovery before rooting.

if you are going to stick on stock rom forever & only want to root device then stock recovery is ok for you...
but while dealing with custom roms, custom recoveries are smart choice.
it has lot of additional options than stock recovery.
so my opinion yes use custom recovery

Hi Guys,
Before you guys shoot me down, Just wanted to say, i searched XDA for 2 hours, couldn't find the exact reply. And a few topics are open since a year with no reply, So thinking that someone will reply to me. I am opening this "Need Help" Ticket.
I have a micromax a110 with 4.04 - as i got no update ever! So what i did was
Rooted the phone properly as per the procedure.
Downloaded the CWM 6.0.4.9 recovery [selinux] and flashed it with Recovery Link :http://forum.xda-developers.com/mic...opment/recovery-cwm-6-0-4-9-recovery-t2789175
Downloaded the [ROM][4.2.2] CanvaS5™ V1.1 Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775553
After flashing the rom properly, when i reboot the phone, it gets stuck on the boot screen forever. Am i doing something wrong? Should i have flashed a kernel? or something. Please note, i am not looking into going back to stock, as i have moved into the dark side of the root world .
Since i have just been a Read-only user of XDA for all this while(more than a year), with no posts ever, i cant request for help on the Developer Thread as it requires privileges. Requesting someone to please post this topic there so i can speak to the dev or please give me a answer to help me:silly:

Hey shreyas,
I have tried it with SP tools, it doesnt work, man. Drivers, Softwares, updated all of them, i keep doing everything. I know i am doing something wrong, but its hard to identify, spent like the entire night trying to make it. Can't i get a flashable zip for CMW instead or know that on which rom did the CWM selinux work on? This boot looping is now killing :fingers-crossed:
Finally, i found a way, thanks 4Shreyas for all the help. Gave me knowledge and helped me identify the errors.
I couldn't flash the rom or the cmw recvoery through the pc as the drivers for SP tools never worked on my Win 8.1 x64. Finally applied the stock jellybean file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160609 . It updated my CMW since that was the problem i was stuck in bootloop.
After that i flash the phone with my desired rom.
In the end, all good:laugh:

Cheers bro !!!! Yes getting MTK drivers in win 8 is a challenging task and as SELinux CWM recovery is concerned you can flash 4.3.x and 4.4.x roms . Google it , if any rom is available then use that recovery to flash those roms .
Enjoy !!

Found an easiest way to install custom recovery on Xolo Q3K with KitKat/Jelly bean, without using PC.
Things needed:
1) A rooted device
2) Flashify.apk ( u can download it from playstore)
3) Patience and .........
Procedure:
1) Download and install Flashify from playstore
2) Open flashify app, a prompt will appear, click accept, then it will ask for root permission, grant it and click ok.
3) Go to backup/restore tab and backup recovery, wait till backup completed.
4) Now, open file manager/explorer, copy your custom recovery.
5) Paste the custom recovery to folder: Android\com.cgollner.flashify\files\flashify-backup\recovery
6) Go back to Flashify app, click backup/restore tab, you will see your custom recovery listed there alongwith stock recovery.
7) Click on custom recovery, it will ask, Restore this recovery image, click yup!
8) Wait for restore to complete, a prompt will appear, click reboot.
9) It will reboot to recovery.
10) and surprise, you have custom recovery installed......
Procedure is universal and I guess it would work for all rooted android devices
Do it at your own risk, I'll not be responsible for bricked devices. It's tested lot of times and 100% successful, but still, you face any problem I'm here to help you....

First of all, sorry Dr. Avi sir, because I haven't viewed these guides before. Today I've seen both ppt, but sorry to say that neither mobile uncle tools nor flashify worked for me on kk_s005, as mentioned in this method, it always reboot to stock recovery. One day I tried this & got success, so I thought, it could help others, That's why posted it here, still if you feel it's offence, then I'll delete the thread.
Sorry again.....
@sachin.r.fulzele
Ohhh don't feel bad anyways Sir.
I just made u aware of it that its already on the thread nothing else.
And for me both mobile uncle tool as well as flashify worked well as u can see in guides.
U can go through all the guides when u have time and help me to improve them:good::good:
keep up the good work.

I think, you haven't pointed out the difference between your procedure and what I've written?????
Anyway, I've searched to delete the thread, but can't find. So, please, will you report to admin to delete this thread????

same was my experience, as i'd posted in other threads. but some flashable zips did the trick - after a few tries.
haven't tried this method, though. good if "procedure is universal and would work for all rooted android devices". :good:
