Found an easiest way to install custom recovery on Xolo Q3K with KitKat/Jelly bean, without using PC.
Things needed:
1) A rooted device
2) Flashify.apk ( u can download it from playstore)
3) Patience and .........
Procedure:
1) Download and install Flashify from playstore
2) Open flashify app, a prompt will appear, click accept, then it will ask for root permission, grant it and click ok.
3) Go to backup/restore tab and backup recovery, wait till backup completed.
4) Now, open file manager/explorer, copy your custom recovery.
5) Paste the custom recovery to folder: Android\com.cgollner.flashify\files\flashify-backup\recovery
6) Go back to Flashify app, click backup/restore tab, you will see your custom recovery listed there alongwith stock recovery.
7) Click on custom recovery, it will ask, Restore this recovery image, click yup!
8) Wait for restore to complete, a prompt will appear, click reboot.
9) It will reboot to recovery.
10) and surprise, you have custom recovery installed......
Procedure is universal and I guess it would work for all rooted android devices
Do it at your own risk, I'll not be responsible for bricked devices. It's tested lot of times and 100% successful, but still, you face any problem I'm here to help you....

First of all, sorry Dr. Avi sir, because I haven't viewed these guides before. Today I've seen both ppt, but sorry to say that neither mobile uncle tools nor flashify worked for me on kk_s005, as mentioned in this method, it always reboot to stock recovery. One day I tried this & got success, so I thought, it could help others, That's why posted it here, still if you feel it's offence, then I'll delete the thread.
Sorry again.....
@sachin.r.fulzele
Ohhh don't feel bad anyways Sir.
I just made u aware of it that its already on the thread nothing else.
And for me both mobile uncle tool as well as flashify worked well as u can see in guides.
U can go through all the guides when u have time and help me to improve them:good::good:
keep up the good work.

same was my experience, as i'd posted in other threads. but some flashable zips did the trick - after a few tries.
haven't tried this method, though. good if "procedure is universal and would work for all rooted android devices". :good:

Hi Gurus,
I have always got all my answers on XDA-developers.com..... You people are simply the best.... Thanks for your support always.
I got my new Canvas 2 two months back. I have a problem that my GPS is not responding. I have googled a lot for the same and all reply that only method is to root my phone.
Also to note that I have already upgraded it to Jellybeans yesterday, but still GPS is not responding.
Now I think of rooting my phone but I have a clear idea that it will void my warranty. But I am very sure that XDA-developers will surely have some method out here to root the phone and again unroot the same so that I can gain my warranty back.
Please do help so that I can resolve my GPS issue I am really stucked.
Thanks in well advance.

HY, if your question is how to flash recovery, than is pretty simple.First go to playstore, then find Rom manager, from there you will download CWM.Then reboot into stockk recovery(the one your phone allready has)/choose reinstall package (do it two times),and then reboot into recovery.IMPORTANT, do not erase the CWM file, because every time you flash recovery ,it needs the zip file. PLEASE PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED YOU!!!!

With this he could brick his device...If the phone doesn't have the recovery available or if it has a locked bootloader he can't do this. Please don't spread disinformation as it could harm other people's devices. And to the OP if you could get a stock recovery.img and if the bootloader is unlocked you could use the cwm builder to get the recovery and then fastboot to flash it.

You can't just flash any recovery on any device, doing so could PERMANENTLY DAMAGE it. I've been doing stuff like this for quite some time and I know stuff like this. And yes, he has to search about it. It will take more time but it will take a lot more if he destroys his device. And yes it IS YOUR FAULT if you give him completely wrong instructions and he destroys his phone by following them. So if you are unsure about something or you don't know something then don't post it, since it can only make things bad not help.

I have already installed drivers for my phone through pda net while rooting my phone..do i need to uninstall the drivers of the phone & again install it?
It will be greatly helpful if you mention the exact steps you have followed in your own writing rather than the pdf which you have given as it is not very clear.(no offense)
Your help regarding this will be much appreciated..ty!
If you already rooted your phone, install mobile uncle App from play.
Place the recovery in the root of SD card.
open mobile uncle and search for recovery update.
this app will install the recovery.
hope this helps..

You have to flash recovery using spflash tools
I tried many times with other methods but it always fails
flashing will void your warranty though, but you can reflash stock rom and act dumb at the service centre and they will fix your phone for free (done this twice)
Miui, lewa os, stock modified 4.2.1(by m_jani) are the only working non crashing roms I know of, let me know if you need their links
how do i...

Not working on my device
Well at first let me tell that that i am noob.. i have been browsing continuously for 2 days but i dont get these techy terms.
let me tell you my problem
1. i installed JB V1.11 SP based from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160609 but it is mentioned that it is prerooted. after i instralled using SP tools following the procedure in various threads, i used root checker and it said "your phone has no proper root access" i was like confused.. how can be it so since it is "prerooted rom" right????
2. i also wanted to install later the Suvi ROm. so i downloaded again this rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43178120&postcount=1510 here... but is something CWM based. and how to install using the SP tools??? and will it root my phone after i install this???
3. How to install CWM recovery?? and is it essential to do it?
Currently i am using official jelly bean 4.1.1 on my micromax a110..

Whoa Whoa.. Don't panic dude.. here's what you need to know.
Replies:
1. Yes, the ROM you flashed was pre-rooted... you need to give root permissions for the Root Checker app using SuperSU app... did you?
2. ClockWorkMod (CWM) is a very important and useful recovery... it's like safe mode in your windows.
To flash CWM:
i. Download MobileUncleMTK tool from google play.
ii. Give root permissions to the app when prompted.
ii. Download recovery.img and follow this procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204785
3. After successfully flashing CWM now download the SUVI ROM and put it in your SD card.. now go to your CWM recovery.. switch off your phone completely.. then press power button+volume up+volume down all three of them simultaneously.. then press volume up button once..
voila.. you're into your CWM recovery.. it will look like as in the screenshot of the above link...
4. Then follow the procedure for flashing SUVI ROM mentioned in its own thread...

1.Has anyone come across a custom recovery?
2.Is there any way to flash a nandroid backup without a custom recovery?
3. Is there a generic custom recovery for a MTK8382 device running 4.2.2?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Well it say DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK! So its definitely your fault for bricking your tab.
What possible need is there to tell the guy this seven months after?

Good day all. I have a Lenovo A3300 (A7-30) tablet. I have downloaded and installed Online Nandroid Backup and have created a backup for restore. I have scoured the net for a custom recovery and have failed to find one.
1.Has anyone come across a custom recovery?
2.Is there any way to flash a nandroid backup without a custom recovery?
3. Is there a generic custom recovery for a MTK8382 device running 4.2.2?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

hi friends! How to root my wiko robby??
kingroot dont work.
thanks!
not available?
I tried every method to root it but it says "not supported"
hi buddy, have you found a way?
_try this
For rooting the Wiko Robby smartphone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you first need to flash a custom recovery. Secondly, you will need to install SuperSU binaries. Before you proceed with this guide, make a full backup so as not to lose any of your personal files.
Than..
ROOT WIKO ROBBY WITH SP_FLASH_TOOL
_Prepare your Device before Rooting_
Download and install the MTK6580 drivers on your PC. (You can search in google)
Download the TWRP recovery for Wiko Robby and extract it to the desktop of your computer, preferably.
Download the latest version of SP-Flash-Tool and extract it on your PC.
Connect the device to the USB port and copy the file Supersu2.74.zip to the main memory of the phone.
Disconnect the USB cable and turn off your phone.
_How to flash TWRP on wiko robby_
Open the SP-Flash-Tool and click on Scatter-loading and select MTK6580_Android_scatter.
Next click on the RECOVERY box, click on the green field and select the recovery.img file. All other boxes must be unchecked.
Click Download and connect Wiko Robby to PC via USB.
The tool will detect your phone immediately and start the task.
After a few seconds, the process will be finished and you will get the Download OK notification.
_Install SuperSU on Wiko Robby_
Hold the volume + power buttons until the phone is restarted in recovery mode.
Backup active partitions of the phone and copy it to external memory (optional but highly recommended).
Press install and load the SuperSU.zip file that we copied previously in the memory of Wiko Robby.
Accept the installation and wait for a few seconds until it is finished.
Finally we restart the device with the Reboot option.
Done! Your Wiko Robby is now ROOTED.

Hi guys!
Root Apps don't work. Even i had the same prob, until then i made a TWRP for my device and flashed SuperSU zip which finally roots the phone successfully.
Anyways for TWRP and detailed instructions, do check THIS POST AND FOLLOW EVERY STEP PERFECTLY
and for Rooting and detailed instructions, do check THIS POST AND FOLLOW EVERY STEP PERFECTLY
This is meant for my device Micromax Canvas Fire 5 Q386 but hope it works for Wikko Robby too, as both the devices are 98 % the same!
If it doesnt work, then DON'T WORRY just give me a message, I will port a TWRP for ur device!
If works please do hit the thanks button!
Thanks, but there is one Problem.
My Phone doesnt Detect USB Connections...
Only Charge, no USB Detection.
I trief it on Linux with lsusb, no detection.
Windows and the Device Manager, no detection.

USELESS AS ****!
Magisk is the most stubborn way of rooting any android.
All it does is partial root. [That means your phone is not rooted fully]
To root ur phone to the full extent, you have to flash SuperSU within TWRP.
So follow my guide.
Else happy temporary root.

Honestly you could have tried the method what i had mentioned.
Coz my device Q386 and robby are 10000000000000000000% identical.
And i doubt it will fail.
NEVER rely too much on magisk!
Trust me!
I found it useless.
Only thing what it does it, it doesnt modify system files [thats senseless], unless you have full root it doesnt make any sense.
Yeah your wish btw.
Ciao!
