how to downgrade note 10.1 from 4.1 to 4.0,(request) - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, can some one please help me with how to downgrade the firmware from 4.1 to 4.0, also would i be able to get ota after i do that by using odin...
if not how do i install updates for 4.0, i am confused about that will i go back to the official firmware and get future ota's or will i always have to use odin....

At the top of this section I have highlighted how to flash a firmware the same process needs to be followed for all firmware no matter what it is ICS or JB
Also read the warning there which is when you downgrade your device will not boot and may get stuck at the Samsung logo and you will need to do a complete wipe by going into recovery to make the device boot
So please back up all your data
If you install the rom (applies for JB & ICS) which belongs to the country of origin of the device you will get OTA

downgrade, manually upgrade.. Spen Pb.

i9023 2.3.3 to 4.0.3 ?

Hello,
I just recently got my Nexus S and now I want to Update it manually to 4.0.3.
It came with Gingerbread 2.3.3 and now I have some questions about this whole process.
1.Is it possible to directly upgrade from 2.3.3 to 4.0.3?
2. Of course I'm not that lazy and I found the files needed around here, but I still have some questions about it.
I found these files:
Code:
Android 4.0.3/IML74K/XXKI1 Radio/KL1 Bootloader
Official, signed, can flash with ClockworkMod or stock recovery. Contains recovery, radio and bootloader.
What exactly mean these words in relation to Android: "Recovery, Radio and Bootloader"?
Thank you!
hi!
i have the exact same phone as you (i9023 2.3.3) and used the stickied all official OTA flashable updates. my build number was GRI54. scroll down in that thread and u will see i9023 2.3.3. (GRI54) -> 4.0.3. i flashed this with custom recovery.
also keep in mind that for our lcd version.. there are troubles accessing the ics stock recovery as it wouldnt show up on lcd. only for amoled..
u can follow my guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20900004#post20900004 to gain root and install clockworkmod recovery to solve this
There are two ways for you to upgrade manually. The first is to get the 2.3.3 to 4.0.3 update, and the second is to remove 2.3.3 and install 4.0.3 in its entirety. You won't need an unlocked bootloader or root to do these. Fairly straight forward.
As for the second question, it tells you what partitions are included. That file will replace the current partition. Radio is for the GSM radio (or cdma for 4g) to get your carriers reception, bootloader includes the main booting files and recovery is the recovery menu where you'll be flashing pics from.
I've also bought a Nexus S recently (on 30th december) and it also came with 2.3.3. What I did was to unlock the bootloader and then via fastboot I flashed clockworkmod 5. Then I flashed via CWM the 4.0.3 update. AFAIK you can do the update without custom recovery but on i9023 the stock recovery doesn't show up.
That's right blackdeath, but it only doesn't show up once you've flashed 4.0.3. So you can see it fine while you're currently on the 2.x.x bootloader.
What's the difference between these 2 files (ICS stock): ZD3PyN0t.zip & VQ8PQk_V.zip ?

Z...zip is the full ROM package whilst VQ...zip is the OTA for 2.3.6.

Thanks! But what would be the difference exactly?
If properly applied: in the end = nothing, both will give u 4.0.3
One (full rom) just is applicable from everywhere and does a full clean install (i.e removes everything than puts 4.0.3 in place)
The second (V..) is the update from 2.3.6, meaning ONLY applicable from 2.3.6 and just updates the OS. (basicly modifies the existing OS)
Basicly the V... is what you'd expect to get over the air.
but only apply it from 2.3.6! (you'll need to apply the incremental updates to 2.3.6 first)

Thank you very much!
Allright, thank you for the replies, I feel much safer now!
(It really annoys me that I didn't knew that Radio can mean Carrier-Information/Software)
I knew that the recovery in 4.0.3 does not SEEM to work because actually just the LCD backlight does not turn on so if you use a flashlight in the right angle you should be able to see the recovery menu.
(Couldn't confirm yet but read it quite a lot.)
Well I guess ICS + Clockwork it is then. Wish me luck.
EDIT: Well this was easier than expected, actuallly easier than flashing a PSP. Im already on ICS now I just need to follow the root/recovery guide by cspader. Thank you.

Noob here looking for som help with flashing JB

Hello to anyone who offers to help!
First post ever on XDA.
I just installed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893714
Jelly bean release on my TF300T, however, I seem to be stuck in a bootloop.
Stuck in the screen where it says "The Device is unlocked" in the top left corner.
On the thread above I flashed the first out of three options (untouched official latest firmware ;stock kernel ;su & Superuser for root access !).
I did wipe both cache and dalvik before flashing with TWRP.
Any help is appreciated

Were you already running jb before you flashed the ROM? If not, get the latest ICS release from Asus and flash that, then upgrade to jb. If you were already on jb, flash that again via twrp, then see if it boots fine, if it does, then begin your root process again.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
All the ROMs that are available right now for JellyBean require that you are already on the JB bootloader. If you are NOT on the official (OTA) JB update, then I suggest you read up on NVFlash before you do cause you can't go back to the ICS bootloader once you update to the official JB firmware 10.4.2.9 or .13.

Help with returning Galaxy Note 10.1 to Stock.

Okay here is the long drawn out story....
Got impatient for JB 4.1.2 to roll out and flashed the German GT-N-8010 4.1.1 onto device....ran great.
Now I want to get my device back to GT-N8013 4.1.2. so here is what I've done.
Flashed via Odin ICS 4.0.4, then rooted installed triangle reset device.
Now first I tried to flash KIES_HOME_N8013UEUCMA3_N8013XARCMA3_813049_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 however everytime I flash it via Odin it fails and I have to go back to 4.0.4 KIES_HOME_N8013UEALI3_N8013XARALI3_1081475_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 Now when I check my status after reflashing 4.0.4 I'm back to custom custom instead of all stock????
So now I tried this....I flashed 4.0.4, rooted, triangled and checked status...all was back to stock. Re-flashed 4.0.4 to kill the root, when I registered for software updates it tells me I'm custom and cannot get updates????
What am I doing wrong? I'm beyond frustrated right now. I have the latest ROM's but I cannot flash via Odin 4.1.2 as it fails everytime. How do I get this done and back to stock running 4.1.2 Please someone guide me like I'm 4

To my knowledge :
0- full reset and wipe cache
1- root your device
2- install samsung galaxy s CSC and use it to change your CSC to your country or the one you want to get updates from
3- triangle away to make sure to rest the counter
4- download the firmware you need again , maybe from another server and make sure it is fully downloaded
5- try it with another version of odin , and make sure to turn kies off ,and make sure you have latest drivers installed .

Why do you need to change the CSC? E.g. I'm using UK stock JB ROM deodexed, does it mean the region has been changed to the UK? Where else can I download the firmware? I'm in Malaysia and can't find the firmware for download.
had the same scenario....german 4.1.1.....i downgraded to the official 4.0.4 (had to wipe cash and restore device during that process as it got stuck at logo)....then rooted, triangle away, all was stock......then waited for ota update.....nd now i have 4.1.2 all stock

P3110 Bootloader Fail

I'm seeking help regarding the bootloader for my P3110:
>I can not install any new 4.1.2 roms because the bootloader fails in Odin (these new 4.1.2 firmwares seem to flash bootloader 1st)
>When I install older 4.1.1 firmware, the rom installs but the bootloader fails at the end although the device will boot normally after that.
>Codeworkx's bootloader (from CM10.1 page) will not install on odin either.. I just get an error message.
>Using triangle away on stock 4.0 and 4.1 will not work properly because of my bootloader issues.. (Modified status always comes back)
Maybe I could try flashing a CWM zip of the JB bootloader?? Could someone make or show me how to make one??
I've tried the obvious such as flashing back to ICS stock etc
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to return the device to its original form... but I cannot do this as the device will not let me achieve any OTA updates (always says device has been modified)
Thanks
Matt

n9005 4.2.2 I can not get started.

I open this topic because I need your help. I am trying to raise the n9005 filter 4.2.2 that recently.
In all cooked roms, say that you have to put first one to raise the stock bootloader mainly checking in odin "phone bootloader update". After starting, transferring the modified 4.2.2 rom, cwm to install a kikat and then make the appropriate wipes and install the new rom.
In my case I follow the process but when I install the official 4.2.2 rom does not start in the terminal. I thought the problem may be in the bootloader, but no. This marado with odin.
I tried to mater also recently leaked official rom with odin all parameters including the BL. And nothing.
Any idea?
