[Q] Please HELP ME - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi Guys
I have an samsung galaxy sl gt-i9003 it had stock rom 2.3.6 ddlf2 ,after i tried to root it with CF-Root for most I9003 firmwares DDLF2_CFROOT-05-07-2012.tar (CWM 5.0.2.8) it flashed succesfully and my phone booted then i copied the RemICS-JB v3.1 File to memory card after i tried to flash the rom according to the instructions it went to an boot loop
then when i factory reseted many times no use the i tried to come back to stock rom ddlf2 after it completed it showed this error
E:format_volume:rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10
somekind of that error

try to flash with odin 1.83

it's using MTD partition layout, first flash will format your phone partition and reboot itself.(based on CM10A4 instruction)
After that flash again with the same file, then flash gapps.

[Q] Please help, ODIN stuck in recovery. Force close errors.

Ever since I tried the T-Mobile ROMs, I have been experiencing force close issues and random errors.
I tried getting back to stock, followed the thread in the sticky. It is just stuck at recovery.img step (as shown in the picture). I flashed the recovery from ODIN and it passed just fine, but not the 618 MB stock tar. Not sure what can possibly be wrong. How can I bring my phone back to normal?
after u flash stock .tar go to stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset for three times and reboot you will be OK after.

But it is stuck in the recovery step when I try to flash this stock tar : SGH-I727-UCKJ2-k0nane.tar.
Hi,
was this ever fixed? I'm stuck at the exact same place (recovery.img) on the same device. Help?
Thanks
flash cwm. Then put darkside flash on an sd card and put it on your phone. Erase system, data, and cahce partitions, 3 times. Then flash darkside. Reboot phone back into cwm. Flash a rom. You should be good
Looks like I fixed it by using an older version of Odin (1.3).

I was going to say, ODIN Version plays more into this than we ever think. I was stuck in a similar situation on my SGT and took me a few days to find out that i was using the wrong version of Odin. So now I have 3 devices and 3 versions lmao had to use "folders" even.

stock zip

Hi!!! I m having bootloop problem been trying to flash through odin but not successful getting all kinds of errors or unable to mount, in the 3e recovery. I have manage to install CWM recovery so now I wanna try to use CWM to update or install zip through sdcard, the problem is I m unable to locate stock 2.2 in zip format.
Would appreciate if anyone can give me a link.... Thanks
Been trying for 2 days to get this damn phone to function, probably have to sit in the drawer with my hard bricked SGS. After this I hope my Skyrocket won't join them

You cannot flash stock firmware through odin.Neither Froyo nor Gingerbread.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA
If you have correct single file rom like .tar file for this phone go to download mode and flash the from with odin in PDA only.
I have been using odin to flash DXKF1, XXKPE and i can't remember whatelse over the last 36hrs. The trouble is, after odin passes the phone does not load, it shows a whole lot of red line errors and it boots into bootloop. I think its a problem with the internal memory chip cos CWM can install Posiedon rom but i get the same bootup problem.

Had the exact same problem... Worked perfectly, and I had no faith in it working. Very useful to read this post.
I'm going to summarize my experience:
1. Repartition with PIT file (take out battery, put it back in, and again to downloading mode with combination buttons)
2. Flash XXKPE
3. Then flash the gingerbread firmware you desire. DONE !!!!
rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10

Maybe I wrote it wrong again... I CAN get into Download Mode and Recovery Mode... I also tried to flash a Stock-ROM and then restore the backup... but the phone cant start after I flashed the Stock-ROM or after restoring the backup...
Maybe my way is wrong...
I do it like that:
1.Start Odin
2.Open PDA and choose the XXLE4 Stock ROM
3.Start
4.After this was done I try to restart...
I think there must be a wrong step...

I tried it... I flashed Latona pit with those settings, and then, after I removed Battery one time, I flashed the Stock ROM, but there was a boot loop again.
After there was a boot loop, I also tried to flash CWM and then restore the backup, but at the end I saw again:
Restoring datadata...
Error mounting /datadata!
Skipping format...
Can't mount /datadata!

OK it's time for you to flash stock firmware threw Odin 3.12.5 an start over !
when you install twrp you have to factory reset first then flash twrp in download mod an boot right into recovery an flash superSU zip or magisk !

Okay thanks for the reply!
I realized i was using an old version of odin.. maybe thats why it wasnt completely flashing the firmware before.. it would get to almost a full bar and fail. then i would have to flash BL or twrp to get it to boot again.. got the latest odin and it flashed fully this time.
still waiting on my phone to boot up though idk if its stuck on bootloop or not..
Edit *looks like im stuck in bootloop now* ill try formatting and flashing again
Edit #2: I booted into default recovery and wiped data & cache and the phone booted up just fine we'll see how this goes *fingers crossed* lol

Tried it still not working.. i even factory reset before flashing twrp. it still reboots immediately when trying to flash anything
Step 2
I presume you're flashing from an SD card. Please backup its data and format it.
Then re-download one of the zips and test flash in TWRP.

Ok do the firmware thing then factory reset in the stock recovery ! Then flash twrp in Odin with auto reboot unchecked in options ! Then pull an replace battery ! Then boot right into twrp an flash superSU SR5 2.8.2 zip an reboot ! Or you can boot twrp an Rom instead !
Glad to be of help. Peter's tricks should solve your final hurdles.
