[Q] Triangle away on GT-N8013 JB - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a GT-N8013 and i flashed to it JB UK GT-N8010 Version, and i rooted it.
and i want to rest the counter, so i downloaded it. but when running there's a warning confirming my device's model " Is you device GT-N8010, if not it will brick" . so mine is N8013 but has JB of N8010. so shall i proceed or not ?
please be sure about your answer or you tried it before.
Thanks

Well it shows the message on all devices because of similarities between 8010 and 8013 it detects your device as 8010
Check on triangle way on playstore it says it supports all wifi model
It should be fine
But do it at your own risk

Worked fine for me with the an 8013. Since I'm actually running a ROM for the 8000 the warning said 8000 instead. But it worked fine.

Just done it WOW. this was breath-taking =D no binary count at all perfect =D

How did you reset it? I booted into the world custom bootloader and pressed volume up to clear it but when I try checking the status it does nothing. I booted into the bootloader again and it still shows 1.

Where you running JB or ICS on your N8013 when you flashed N8010 JB on it? And also when you flashed N8010 JB, what method did you use to root? Reason I ask is that I'm running JB on my N8013 (stock rooted FW) and I tried to flash Australian N8010 JB but it failed .

Mine still shows 1 as well

"Unauthorized Software Found" Notice -- How to reset it?

Hi guys.
So I am very new to the Verizon Galaxy S3, and I didn't see this question anywhere that I looked in this section so forgive me anyways if it has been posted before.
After flashing the cm10 nightly from 2012-10-05 (October 5) I got the unauthorized software notice and I can't get it to go away.
Does anybody know how to reset it?
Help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

You will have to Odin back to stock and start over. That message means you did not unlock your bootloader.

I did unlock my bootloader. But now that I can't tether it might be a while to download the 1.2GB file. Thanks man!
If you used ez unlock, there is a chance u had the version that wasnt unlocking properly. That message def comes from flashing custom kernel and a secure aboot in my experience. I think the version everyone said for sure works was 1.2.

I had to use 1.1 cause 1.2 wouldn't open on my phone. :/
Yep, the dreaded triangle. I had use EZ Unlock v1.4 and it screwed me. Use v1.2 or v1.0 I had to Odin back to stock and start from there. All is running well now.
This was how I got it back to stock (rooted). I had to use that special tip in the grey box to work for mine.
I remember when I had this happen to me. I was a total noob at flashing when I got my S3. Tried to install some rom with custom kernel and kept getting this at reboot. Didn't know anything about unlocking bootloader
A month later and I'm a pro... Well maybe not a pro, but no more triangle of death!
At the time, though, I nearly **** my pants lol.

That happened to me, I thought sh#%, I gotta go to Verizon and act stupid. I Messed with it for a few minutes and figured it out. Then odined it back. You learn fast thanks to the geniuses in these forums.

Had this happen to me last weekend. I thought my boot loader was unlocked but it turned out the superuser app I flashed (which I thought was an updated one) didn't have the thing to unlock the boot loader. Basically I just rooted and assumed I had it unlocked... Then flashed MOAR and after aroma froze 5 times and finally got the whole way through i met mr triangle. Haha

This process no longer appears to work after Verizon OTA'd the official 4.3 update. I tried to flash back to stock following the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
However I'm unable to flash the VRALEC bootchain successfully. I'm wondering if Verizon had a little extra magic in that update.

Don't flash anything in Odin. Once on TW 4.3, you're permanently on TW 4.3 because of Knox bootloader. You have the potential to brick your device if you flash anything in Odin.

After which step did you see this yellow triangle? Could you be very specific? Did the ICS tar flash successfully? Cuz from what I understand with 4.3 on other carrier's S3, once you're on TW 4.3 you can't downgrade. I want to tell you to flash VRBMF1 jellybean stock firmware since you've already flashed ICS firmware with no hard brick.

I tried flashing the VRALEC bootchain first, and it took, but then threw the yellow triangle. After that I tried loading VRALF2 stock firmware and it did not give any errors. I tried again with VRALEC bootchain with no success. Then tried VRALF2 bootchain and VRBMD3 bootchain. I can boot into stock recovery and Odin, but that's all.

We don't know. That means bootloader is locked. It would have to be Odin again. If got that with stock tar could be brick. If try to unlock may get hard brick. You kinda past the point of no return. Can try to Odin another newer one like MF1 and see what happens. It is saying the kernel is not compatible. Can't clear that message anyway without another stock Odin. Can't unlock with that message anyway. It's too late.

[Q] Not sure what to do next after rooting Galaxy Note 10.1, help unroot?

My device: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - 16GB
I'm pretty much very new to modding and everything but I did the rooting from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152 I used the first method and once I rebooted my device it was freezing and every few seconds it would say "Unfortunately, S Note has stopped working". I restarted my device and the same thing kept happening. Next, I tried using the second method of rooting but nothing seemed to be working still, so I did a factory reset. Everything seems fine now but I think I just want to unroot eveything altogether. Is that possible?

Flash a stock Rom with Odin and don't root.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk 2
If everything's working fine now and it's rooted why do you want to get rid of root?
Also, as you used ODIN to flash cf-root you will need to run the triangle-away app to reset the flash counter before flashing a stock rom otherwise your flash counter will be more than the "0" it's supposed to be and you may have trouble if you need to return under warranty...

Well I'd actually would just want to get rid of the clockworkmod root because it increases binary count and doesn't let updates through, as least thats what I read.
You need to use triangle away to reset the flash counter. You can flash the stock recovery after to get stock recovery back but you won't be able to flash a new custom rom using this. You will retain root access though if you want to use TB or change system files....
If you have the cf-root though you can flash when the devs release the update.
You can also go to sammobile and download the update too to flash through ODIN though you will loose root after doing so and will have to have reset the flash counter 1st anyway...
I used the same method to root that you mentioned as the first try. What did after that was to download mobile odin (can be purchased on the play store) download my original firmware from sammobile. Use mobile odin to flash my original firmware, injecting rooting by using everroot in mobile odin.
So I end up on my original firmware rooted. No need to triangle away since still on stock recovery.

Yes but what you don't seem to understand is that the 1st flash you did into CWM raised the flash counter by 1.... If you return under warranty you may be refused and have to pay for it to be repaired fully...
Go into download mode to check, hold volume down and power together, when the samsung logo appears release the power button. When prompted press up volume and you should see if the flash counter reads 0 or 1... Hold down power button until tab turns off to get out of download mode...

Didn't realise he had used the cwm method to root. If that is the case, it may be in your best interest to reset the flash counter.
I used the pre injected stock firmware, so was no need for cwm.

[Q] changed my n8010 to n8013 by mistake, how do i get back? help please

hi, to try the new 4.1.2 i flashed the usa rom for n8013 on my n8010 uk, afterwards i flashed back the stock 4.0.4 uk one, but my device now says that the device name is n8013, and i have a custom binary count, i used odin through out,
now when i look for updates i get a message saying that the device has been modified and i am not eligible for updates, i cant understand what has happened, can anyone help me getting back to n8010 and a official rom
thanks
If flashing the N8010 rom didn't fix it, it should - make sure you are using an N8010 rom, then the only other way I know of is to edit the build.prop. But you need to be rooted to do that.
Hi. Yes i tried it but didnt work. I got the firmware from sammobile. Now when i used triangle away it left me with 1 count which probably means that i am still on n8013 stock recovery. Any ideas where i could get the n8010 stock recovery from..

Yes i had root but was able to flash original firmware back to it so it said official thankfully sammy didnt notice it was rooted but when i took it back to shop they knew lol but as it under warrenty and i pointed out hardware showing them that it didnt happen every boot only most of them they sent it off and it came back.
unfortunately they put jellybean on it even though it had ics which is what i said to put back on it.

paranoid android on new tf201 running 4.1.1 out of the box

So i have been reading about and trying to figure out why i cannot for the life of me get paranoid android installed on my transformer prime tf201 running 4.1.1.
Ive already unlocked the bootloader by using the apk provided by asus and thas fine.
Now i tried to root it and no matter what root method i try (ive tried pretty much everyone i can find) it doesnt work.
i tried instaling CWM and whilst in fastboot mode it says its completed succesffully but then when i boot into recovery (pressing vol + on RCK) it just freezes on "booting recovery kernel image"
I am lost as to what else to do and would appreciate some advise from anyone if you can help
I have also never rooted this before, its brand new and its running the 4.1.1 OS.
Thanks
Hi sean, I have the tf300 and I initially unlocked mine (some time ago) with the asus v7 unlock tool. I went from 4.1.1 to v4.2.1 then I downgraded back down to 4.1.1. For the CM10.1 goodness. I also use twrp 2.5.0.0 and have had ZERO problems with any of my CM 10.1 installs...and ive tried them all. Out of curiosity, have you tried twrp?
