Why doesn't my One S like my WiFi? - HTC One S

So I have kind of an interesting issue with my One S and the wifi in my house. My One S hops right onto my wifi when I get home, with no issues. Runs a speed test just fine, downloads apps just fine.
But I've noticed on a few things, mainly Facebook and occasionally web pages, it will lag like there's no data at all. Pictures and comments will get stuck on the Facebook app to the point where I have to kill the app and reload it, and some web pages will stall out and I have to reload them several times. But if I turn the wifi off and hop on 4G, those problems go away.
This is experienced no where else on wifi, the Facebook app and web pages all work just fine. What is it about my wifi that my One S doesn't like?

Same problem here

Captivate WiFi issue?

My captivate has a problem. It'll connect to WiFi no problem. Unfortunatly, after a while (could be anywhere from long 30 seconds to a few minutes) the WiFi stops sending data. I have to disable/reenable wifi to get it to work again. It still says connected to network, it just won't receive data.
Anyone know of this happening, have a fix, or maybe what I should look for that might be causing this issue?
I disabled recently installed running apps, no help.
I did try a speedfix last night, and it was unsuccessful, and I uninstalled it. Didn't test enough after that to know for sure if it was the issue, but I don't think so.
It was like, I was going through google reader, started a youtube vid, paused it, restarted it, and it wasn't loading. Just wouldn't load. That's when I think the problem started, and I haven't installed anything since then, that i haven't disabled/uninstalled.
Have you tried flashing the stock OS. Maybe this will help. My wifi has been solid so far but i will see if i get a problem like yours. Try reflashing. If it doesn't work post back.

I have the exact same issue on enterprise class cisco wifi APs. The only difference is the symptom is immediate, and not after an interval of time.

I'm thinking of this, but I don't know...
I have my music on my computer, I have my .apk's in a folder and my market synced with appbrain. Anything else I need to do? Will appbrain reset, and make me go find and reinstall everything?
What about the apps that I paid for, what happens to them?
Would be my first flash, and I'm thinking about flashing one of those I9000 roms, but that would be a last ditch effort. I really hope to avoid this.

It's an AT&T U-verse router, and only started a few hours ago, as near as I can tell.
I experience the same phenomenon of dropped wifi, and it occurs at any AP, but I have an interesting twist.
One time out of twenty when I start wifi, the 3g icon doesn't go away, but stays up on the status line with my wifi icon. On those rare occasions, my wifi stays solid for days. Unfortunately, it's random and rare.
same issue
My Wifi stops sending data and the 3G still shows. Sometimes restarting the router helps and sometimes nothing helps.
For anyone that might find this later, turns out (after two rom flashes) it was the router. I found this out when connecting my laptop to it. Surprised the captivate didn't admit it lost connection though.
I wish that were the case for me. My Captivate stays connected, but stops receiving at many different APs--Home, Starbucks, airport. I need a solution or a Scotch.

I had this exact problem, I tried a factory reset and it was still broken. I exchanged my phone and now it works perfectly holding a signal (except for enterprise 802.1x ap's which are known to be broken). (Also if you run dd-wrt check your logs for "deauthenticated due to local deauth", there is a problem with the wpa/wpa2 modules in either android or dd-wrt that they are not compatible with each other).
I actually found this searching for a solution to my own issue with WiFi. I actually fixed it while I was reading this. Unfortunately I have AT&T DSL with 2wire Modem. I went into the setting and setup MAC filtering and assigned it it's own IP. It has worked flawlessly for the past hour. I know this probably will not help when at other locations but at least at home I have a good connection.

Same router type as mine that lost it originally. Interesting, wonder if there is a connection? Or random coincidence.
I'm having a wifi issue as well, but not to the extent others have.
I connect fine, but it appears as though my data download speed is capped at <2mbps for both wifi and 3g?
My wife's iPhone is getting download speeds of over 10mbps on the same wifi network and >3mbps over 3g.
Is it worth flashing back to stock? or is this a known issue?
I'm running stock JH3 with SRE 1.2.1a with lagfix
I have this same issue and it's really random. Running JH2, sometimes it works on wifi, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes disabling\re-enabling wifi fixes it, but rebooting the phone always fixes it. Really frustrating...

Unresponsive data connection in Android

I've had this issue with my Nexus S on CM7 for a while now (well I've only had the phone for about a month) but only recently realized it was probably Android or my phone that was the problem.
What happens is I'll be browsing web sites whether it be in the stock browser or Dolphin HD and internet just stops responding. I would open 2-3 sites and after that, nothing else would load. The green loading bar would go about 1/8th of the way and just stops. Eventually, it typically starts working again later on as I usually just give up and go on with my day.
I always figured it was my providers data connection being unreliable but the other day, I set it to wifi and it did the same thing. I would even load the same sites in my iPhone4 side by side with my Nexus S and the iPhone would load the sites just fine while the Nexus just seems stuck.
These other threads seem to have the same issue without being resolved

I rooted and installed CM7 pretty much as soon as I got the phone so it's hard to say whether the issue is with this ROM or what exactly. I also use the TEUV-Trinity kernel by morfic.
I realize this is a fairly broad issue. Was wondering if anyone else as experienced this and if you could help pinpoint the issue, that would be great.
I'll also add that shutting down and removing the battery for a few minutes seems to fix the problem for a while. Browsing is nice and quick afterwards.
Thanks

[Q]T-Mobile 3G

Hello,
I am on T-Mobile on an Android phone and I've noticed that, at random times, downloading via 3G stops working. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or whether it is just me.
For example, it happens when I am using the browser. I'll go to a page and the page will be continuously loading. At the top notification bar, I see a constant up arrow signifying that some data is being sent, but no down arrow. After 1 minute or so, the page fails to load. If I wait a while, downloading returns to normal and I can then load the page.
Am I going crazy? Or is this normal with 3G or normal with T-Mobile?

I get the same thing on my Note. Occasionally it will just 'hang' while downloading or browsing. Refreshing a Facebook feed seems to be the biggest culprit for me.
It's generally a sign of a possible issue with the radio. Flashing a new one may help, as may re-setting your APNs and starting over

Sorry for bumping up an old thread, as I didn't realize there were new replies to this thread. But, yes, I tend to also have troubles with refreshing a Facebook feed. I am positive that it's a T-Mobile problem, as I didn't seem to have issues on AT&T.
Yea as of late ive noticed terrible connections on tmobile. I currently get no service in my apartment and i live in a 4g zone. I use to have service and it seems to have dissapeared. Im currently making a short video of this bull**** and going to find a way to get out of my contract. Verizon will be my new home soon. Ive been with tmo since 2004 and ive seen the service grow to be fast and great and as of the past 3 months its turned into ****.

Lollipop: After flash, Wifi lag

Hello! I flashed the stock image two days ago, as I was not part of the initial wave. Everything seems to be working great, but with one exception. When connected to wifi, anything that must pull information from the web has major lag. For example, opening facebook (or facebook messenger), or instagram, or twitter. You get the idea. Opening facebook messenger, for instance, takes around 9 seconds to load a conversation.
I did a ping test through my phone, using google.com, and found that it took around 9100 ms.
If I disconnect from wifi, which switches me to LTE, this issue disappears.
Switching from wireless 2.4 ghz to 5 ghz makes no difference.
While I have found bug reports about problems connecting to wifi, I haven't really found anyone with this specific issue. If anyone has any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate them.
Update:
Speed test shows that my wifi connection is running at normal pace. Ping test showed a delay, so I am assuming that is where the problem is. This problem does not occur on any other of my devices using my wlan.
I'm experiencing the same thing, unsure of what's going on. Facebook is so sluggish and everything else I do on the Internet seems to be so slow...
Same for me
I am also having issues with WIFI on Lollipop. I always seem to be connected to the network but when I open apps that use the internet connection, it takes forever to load. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other mainstream apps are having a real hard time loading images
I am having the same problem.
Weird thing is that I was at a different location today and used the wifi there without any problems. Didn't have time to figure out what was different with their network configuration.
Same problem here.. both on my phone and my wife's. If anyone here hears of a solution... please post back.
Fixed

Actually... I fixed this.. I have a D-Link-655 Router.. I had a firmware from 2012 on it.. I updated to the latest from 2013 and I no longer have problems with wifi-lag on mine or my wife's phones with Lollipop. Something to consider before fussing with IPv6 settings.

Wifi Issues

OK I am hoping a few network techs can help me with this issue. While on Wifi my phones internet works I can browse the web and using any app I want. The issue I am having is with Facebook and Instagram Alone. I can not upload photos to either app while on Wifi. As soon as I disconnect from Wifi it uploads just fine.
I have a Nexus 5 completely Stock running 5.0.1
My Wireless Router is a Buffalo Nfiniti WHR-HP-G300N running DD-WRT (came pre installed on the router when I bought it brand new)
I can post status updates to Facebook just fine as long as they do not contain a photo.
I can post pictures to Google+ while on Wifi without any problems.
My phone backs up my pictures to Google+ Automatically without any problems. ( I have it set up to do it only while on WiFi and charging)
Other Apps like Google Drive, sheets, slides, docs all work fine on WiFi.
I cant figure out why Facebook and Instagram are having issues this has only started happening with in the last 2 weeks. All Android devices while on WiFi have this issue (My Phone, Friends N5 running exact same Android and my Nexus 7 (2013))
Facebook and Instagram both work while on WiFi when I am at work.
Any Help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
