Hi ,
Newbie here looking for some newbie advice.
Apologies in advance if this has been discussed but i have had a search.
My Daughter has a Disgo 9104 (Ice cream sandwich) which i applied a hack to enable Play store ,BBc iplayer etc
The hack is even semi endorsed on the Disgo site
All is working very well with the functionality of the device. My Daughter loves it.
The problem is that there seems to be a problem with the charger or battery.
I'm hoping its just the charger as i can power up when the charger is plugged in but it doesnt charge and if i move the charger slightly the device shuts down as it has no charge at all.
Anyway , i have just purchased a new charger which will take a day or two to arrive but if its not the charger , can i factory reset it in the hope they wont notice if i send it back under warranty ?
Will the factory reset take me back before the modification ?
The modification i used was from here ---------->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690929
Apologies again for my lack of forum etiquet.
Hey man I too had the same problem but on a different tablet which is a zeki 7 tablet and yea I think its the charger or the hardware that's mess up and I did factory reset, reboot, all those and non work so its either the charger or hardware or else just look on Google and search your tablet stock Rom and try flashing it....

Hi ,
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry to sound thick but is my Tablets stock rom its operating system ? ie Ice cream sandwich ?
Yea I thinks its the charger cause am sure you didn't have any custom Rom before u hack for Google play and am sure u have stock rom so its probably the charger or your tablet plug whole probably water spilt in there?... But yea let's just hope its the charger that's broken and not some issues related to your tablet hardware.... tell me when u get the new charger.

Hi Again ,
Right , its not the charger. Have a new one here and its still not charging. It will let me use it when plugged in though but if i move it it turns off.
Can anyone point me in the direction where i can get the stock rom it ? I have had a search but i'm not really sure what i'm looking for.
Might just chance it and take it back as is. Will they check to see if its been modded ?
Any advice on this would be appreciated .
Kind regards

Anybody......please help me to my problems. I can't open (power on) or enter to recovery mode or downloading mode. I can't do anything to my device. Before happening things to my device, I left my device for 2 days without using it. I think it lack of battery power or something.
Now, can't do anything to it. My device is in ICS 4.0.4 Austria firmware and also rooted.
Please how can i cure my device?:crying:
Thanks all who read this in advance.
I had the same problem, I took it to servicing... they said the PCB(phone circuit board) was fried... got it replaced and its fine now....
Anyway, if anybody could fix it...I would be happy to learn the skill to do it myself....

Ahrrr...... Exchanging PCB??? It might be expensive. But I didn't do anything to brick hardware. :'(
Could you please tell me how much it is cost to exchange PCB?
Well I got it for free... that time my phone was still under warranty, and it was just dead, and I knew there was no way they(servicing people) would know about my rooted phone, so its dirty but I told them it just died, and got it replaced for free...lol... so I don't really know the cost...lol
If ur phone is still under warranty, maybe you could use the same technique ...
ICS stock recovery hv problem, many people have become bootloop / hardbricks after wipe using stock/temporary recovery. If u want to flash official ICS, u need to flash CWR to.
Hardbricks mean your main board dead and need to replace the new board.

One question please: If you connect the tablet to AC power for some time (at least ten minutes) appears then the green battery charging icon ? Or nothing ...
Edit : it's possible that the tablet goes to a deep discharge condition, very dangerous for Li-ion batteries...

****** PROBLEM SOLVED ******
"I decided to buy a new battery from Amazon which didn't cost that very much. My phone is back to normal so it was my battery I'm guessing like the battery exploded because it felt all lumpy & stuff."
** Thank you everyone who left suggestions & answers to help me with my problem much appreciated! **
Okay I've recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy S 4G for about 2 weeks now & I am currently having some problems with my phone. I'm not sure if its my phone or the ROMs that I am flashing. The problem that I am having is that when I'm using my phone that has a full battery my phone just shuts off completely. I turn it back in on the battery is almost dying so I charge the phone. When its done charging I unplug it & continue to use my phone, but for some reason it keeps turning off on me. I can't use my phone at all because of this the only way I can use my phone is if its plugged in to charge. I thought maybe it was the ROM that I am using which was Valhalla FINAL so I flashed it again & I get the same result. So, I decided to download a different ROM which was HebrewValhalla3.5_AROMA & guess what I get the same result. I really want to use my phone, but I can't so if someone can please help I would really appreciate it very much!
So what do you think could be the problem is it the ROMs that I am flashing or what? Please give me some tips & what ROMs do you recommend? I really need anyone's help...Thanks

It's the battery.
Battery.....can buy em all day long @Amazon.com for $5.00
It can't be the battery because it works normal when my phone is not rooted

Its not the battery my phone works fine when it isn't rooted.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
So you unrooted it and it works fine now?
Yeah it works fine like normal when it isn't rooted, but when I root it again it does the same thing
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Well if you really wanna find where the problem is, assuming it's not the battery, try running on stock unrooted for a day, then flash just a rooted kernel, and then try a full rom.
Okay I will try that, but what would you recommend I'm kinda new to this stuff.

You should read this.

I would have to say its not Valhalla final because i am running it with no problems. I have 1day 12hrs 35mins on a single charge. With 38% left on battery. Simply rooting your phone would not cause massive battery issues. Gotta be something more going on.
just wanted to chime in. i was having the same issue, but my sgs4g has been rooted with froyo 2.2.1 since i took it to a guy to root it for me(i had bricked my first one ha!) when KD1 was still the thang. and just a few months ago i started having this problem out of no where, just as used described it op, except i haven't been flashing anything on or off it, and i thought it had to do with a shetty app i had installed. i put a 'new' battery in and had the same issue, eventually the new battery(which was a very sensitive 1500mAh i bought for $20 at a local phone spot) blew up when a gf sat on me while it was in my pocket. the batteries seem really sensitive, there's a warning label to not apply pressure to the battery and it's easy to do with the sgs4g. anyway i went out and bought a 900mAh from best buy for 40 bucks :"""( but it works fine now. battery slowly creeps to zero like its supposed to. i haven't flashed anything or changed anything app-wise, still rooted.
when i was having this problem i also found that there's a battery calibration app for when you flash a new rom, but it didn't help me. worth a shot when you flash a new rom though i reckon.
hope that helps!
Sensitive? Really? Lmao
That's a load of crap.
I have 4 batteries that i charge on a continuous basis with an external charger and 2of them have been thru hell and back and still work as good as new. And for your info battery calibration apps do nothing good for your battery.
I'm not saying they don't go bad cuz I've had several that have....but sensitive? I'm not buyin that.
I am an ironworker and keep my extra batteries in my pocket all day every day and always have one in the charger.
As for rooting your phone causing the battery problems.....not buyin that either....that my friend is in your head....or there's more to it than your telling us.
Hi there, I was recently rooting my Nexus S (used the Nexus root toolkit) when something happened. I had originally dropped my phone and inside my phone it became damaged and wouldn't be able to properly mount itself when plugged into a laptop. So everything was working when I began rooting until nearing the end of the script, it stopped working due to the fact that my phone is quite delicate when it's plugged in, The root didn't work so I retried rooting it several times. My phone currently will not turn on or even show that it's charging when plugged into a wall. I know for a fact it's not an issue with the battery because I put my battery into my sisters Nexus S and there's around 40% left. Is there any solution to this problem or do I need a new phone?
Sounds like a hardware issue related to doing the device and nothing to do with the rooting process

So my only real option is to get a new phone then? :S
It sounds like you need either a replacement or repair. If you have to pay for the repair, it may be a better idea to replace it with something newer/better.

I don't know much about bricking but is there a program that could unbrick it ?
I don't know about a program, you can try, the only time i had brick my nexus s i need to do jtag

I'm not so sure it is bricked. Many people here are quick to throw that word around, but in your OP you mention doing it and not being able to mount to a laptop before starting the root process...

Hey guys
I pulled my TF300 out of the box, let it run through updating everything it wanted to update then after rebooting the keyboard dock refuses to work. The power is still there, showing up on the battery monitor and charging the tablet, and it's showing up as being connected, plus the USB port is fine, but there's no response from pressing any keyboard buttons or poking the mouse pad. Before the tablet updated to 4.2 (from whatever it came in the box with) it worked fine since I put in my gmail stuff with it, but now nothing.
I've tried reboots and reconnects and everything basic I can think of. Nothing wants to do anything.
There's so many threads about these problems, but no-one seems to actually have an answer for it, other than just poke and hope something works.
Anyone have an idea what I should do?
Hypothisising

This is just a hypothesis, but it's worth the shot.
When you updated the tablet, was the dock connected?
If not, the dock firmware might out dated for your tablets firmware version. I presume that's why on the update notice it advises you to connect your dock; to keep the dock compatible to prevent other users may end up in a situation like yours. Have you tried flashing the latest official rom via fastboot with the Tablet connected? You never know, it might be the solution.
Hope this helped.

So did you have any success? The problem might of been caused by the upgrade of the 4.1 bootloader to the 4.2 one whilst not having your dock attached.

Hi guys, I tried flashing my bootloader but it doesn't work .
Is my tf101 dead for sure?

Battery is 100% dead? Holds no charge at all ?
You probably won't be able to do anything with it at all until you have a working battery, it'll need its own power source before you can connect it to the PC successfully I'd have thought, PC doesn't supply enough power
You'll need a new battery or a dock with a fully charged battery to keep it powered on while you flash it
Once you have power sorted out, use Easyflasher to flash TWRP Recovery, then flash a ROM from TWRP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
Thanks, but why does it need battery power? Isn't the USB cable enough to power it through the flash process?
I'll check the battery right after I get my hands on a t5 screwdriver
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I know USB is not powerful enough to charge while it is turned on, and I assume it will need more power than USB can provide to Flash a ROM or Recovery, could be wrong but that's my guess
Ok thanks! I really hope the problem is just a dead battery .
Will take me some time to check and maybe replace it.
But I'll post an update when I do.
Thanks again

by the way - is it possible that the RTC (CMOS) battery is dead (and not the main battery)?
I saw them on eBay and thought the CMOS battery may also be the culprit..

Never heard of them dying so far, didn't even know they had a CMOS battery to be honest, there is no BIOS that we can access
Apart from resetting time and date, like would happen on a PC, not sure what problems it would cause anyway, there is only 1 drive to boot from and default settings would be fine as the hardware was never upgraded
In the meantime I got my hands on a tf300t with a cracked digitizer for 50$.
Now I have 2 projects on hand!
