Automatically getting restarted - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

My phone is restarting many times I am on cm7 with the original kernel this same thing was happening on ICS so reverted to cm7 but the problem did not solve the phone was suddenly restarting in the recovery even when I was installing any rom is this a hardware problem

It may be a hardware issue but first you need to rule out software, gremlin problem. Have you done a one click back to stock yet? If not you may have to do that. Also doing a sd card wipe(format) every once in while helps.
Their are two versions Gremlin Remover (oden), and heimdal one click back to stock.

Could be a few things. You'll need to take the phone aprt to check though. Here
's a guide:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+S+4G+Teardown/4977/1
The battery post are soldered to the main board. Look for cracks there. Also pull out the power button and clean it. Those are the two most likely places to check.

Ok so I recently tried to flash a rom, can't remember which one but it was CWM flashable. I followed the instructions to flash it to the t. Something went wrong and wouldn't let me restore my backup so I just wiped everything hoping that would clear the issue but it didn't. Now the phone WILL NOT boot. It is stuck on the Galaxy S 4G (exclusively from t-mobile) Splash screen and won't budge. Won't go to recovery mode, download mode (tried several ways), nothing...please give me advice. I tried making a jig but it didn't work...I think I may have gotten the wrong resistors though. Tutorials say 301kohm and i picked up a five pack of 100kohm and twisted three together, cut open and old usb cable, etc; and it won't work....please please please help. This is my gf's phone. Please don't tell me i have to send it in for repair. FYI I'm no noob, I've flashed plenty of roms to her phone and such before and never had this problem.
Look at raverx3x's how to debrick without a jig thread

If you are still in the Galaxy S/T mobile splash screen then you ARE IN DOWNLOAD MODE.
Find an Odin ROM in the SGS4G Bible to flash and you should be good. If you still have problems with setup connection it might be a problem with your drivers.
I had an issue with drivers before and just downloaded Kies Mini off of Samsungs website. Kies will install the drivers for your phone
Yeah I think that may be the problem cause I read in another post that you can flash with Odin from that screen but couldn't get the comp to recognize the phone. Downloading kies mini now. Hopefully it will work.
Thank you so much for your help. I can't believe I didn't realize the driver thing...its always the little things you forget that matter the most. Lol. Thanks a lot man. Now successfully flashed with odin and booted up.

I also ended up switching to a fancy usb cable and I think that made a difference. Lol.

From what I have read (and my experience) on our forum these few+ months is that our original stock usb cable is DEPENDABLE and that aftermarket ones can cause problems for people. Just saying.
Your fancy one might have been enough to get the job done. But our stock usb cable is Proven. If you have it use it. I can say this with certainty.
EDIT**
Unless yours is defective our broken of course.

HELP! My tab won't turn on!

OK so what happened was I had the latest CM10 build installed and wanted to try the paranoid android rom out and I flashed my device with the 2.50 build. I soft bricked it. I could still go into recovery but the device wouldnt load into paranoid android. I had an emergency so I had to leave the device the way it was in a bootloop state I came back the device was off. Obviously It ran out of juice. And now when I try to charge it i don't get any response...... could this be a hard brick?? ??
please guys any help would bbe greatly appreciated!

Happened to once with a different model. Never had it fixed, as suggested by a technician, go to someone who has a JTAG. Same with what I was thinking, but I never bothered to had it fixed.
Good luck.

Well if I'm not mistaken I don't think there is jtag for our devices. well I fixed it now thank god! I took apart another p6200 and swapped out the batteries and as soon as I swapped them the one I thought was bricked booted up! I flashed the stock rom then rootedbit ahandball that now its working great! I guess it doesn't charge whenbits in a boot loop or something? Thanks man I really appreciate ur help

I just had this problem too and couldn't find any answers about what can I do to solve it...
I was trying to flash ICS ROM over Odin (I hate it), and it always stucked on the process. When I tried to reboot, it did just not woke up again!
What may have happened? Does someone knows what to do now?
I really don't know what to tell you... for me swapping out batteries fixed it but it was a real pain to do so. You could try keeping it plugged into the charger for a while and ssee if the screen powers on. If it does just put your tab in download mode and flash from Odin. Maybe u had a llow charge when you tried flashing stock?

SOD with stay awake checked

I just got a sod while my phone was charging, to fix this I have it checked to stay awake while its charging, but it still had a sod. This is the first time its ever happened with stay awake enabled, and my phone will not go a night without a sod without stay awake checked, but now it seems that even that doesn't work. Is there any other thing/way to fix this?

Stock cm7 kernel, build 11/18. It hasn't happened since. But now all I get is dropped signals anymore. And I can't use any different kernel without running into overheating, insane battery drain, and random reboots.

I have overheat issues with as its 1.5ghz by default, so I have to turn it down after flashing.
Could you please list the kernels you have tried?

My phone has become a POS lately. Unreliable and just clunky. I've tried faux and morfics. Both eventually give me problems like mentioned before.

Well, maybe she's burned out from flashing,
If it was my phone, I'd flash completely back to stock. Make sure you use correct nandroid for your baseband. That brings another question, are you 21e or 21y? 21y fixed alot of issues with battery etc.
Anyways, go completely stock, than start fresh with nvflash recovery. I'd flash CWM 5.0.2.8. DONT use touch recovery.
Than start flashing your setup. Make sure you wipe everything with recovery. Wipe system for sure.
Choose one kernel, flash it as well. Than see how she runs.

Wipe her back to stock and start over.
I would.
Use titanium back up for important apps.
I'd go clean and let my apps download their data again though.

I don't even use titanium backup, since flashing roms I've never made it far enough in an app to save useful data haha, eventually ill do something to it.

Battery issues after rooting.

Hi I am a total newbie in android and rooting. So a few months age I rooted my s2 using an insecure rom 4.0.4 bvlph. afrer a few my phone started turning itself off even when battery is near 100 percent . when i turned the phone on again it started saying low battery. This kept happening a lot and it has now come to a situation where i can not use the phone for more than an hour doing anything. I have attachdd a picture which shows the battery drain and how quickly it happens. I have also attached a picture which describes my phones details. I was suggested XDA by a friend and was hoping that someone can point me to the right direction.
Many thanks for your help.

You can try wiping battery stats, or flashing a new ROM altogether
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Try flashing stock rom via odin
Just Google it

Flash a new custom rom..
And do a full wipe before installation..
If that doesnt work then there is something wrong with ur battery

Although if his battery wasn't having this problem before, it seems unlikely that it just developed exactly when he rooted.
Like they all said though, do a full wipe before you flash a new ROM.

I think u should go with a new ROM
Flash a new ROM
Try underclocking ur new ROM
This might help

It looks like that this rom Network and Wifi is eating up your battery the most. I would say its cause that your network signal is poor and your phone keeps searching for a good signal and that is using up your battery. You can try flashing a new rom as well as getting a new card (transfer the number to a new sim card).

I727 is Bricked ?

Hi XDA,
I have a problem with my i727 at&t, 3 days ago I upgraded to JB 4.1.2 with Kies, it's all stock ROM no root.
at the begining suddenly turned off and stayed vibrating with the dark screen, but was returning on.
But now only loads the image of Samsung and is vibrating and it does not happen there,
and try with change of battery but it seems to brick of nowhere.
any solution, or another good looking paperweight ?
Have you tried flashing the stock firmware with odin. That would be the step I'd take.

If not, I've had a similar thing happen to me several times before.
You can read about the last time it happened to me here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403022 .
It's such a weird and unexpected thing in my mind that I totally forgot about the first time(s?) it happened.
The first time was either when the AT&T JB leaked in 2012 or when the official AT&T JB UCMC1 was released. Rogers JB RUXUMA7 is also sensitive in some weird ways.
When using the AT&T / Rogers JB roms always make sure to turn phone off by the power menu. As just pulling out the battery has bricked my phone twice (or more times when I was testing out roms) with at least the AT&T rom.
Rogers RUXUMA7 has it's own quirks, a CWM (both older and newer version) backup of this rom restored will have gallery and phone forceclosing. Even with wiped data & cache for those particular apps..
