Have you tired another battery? I had something similar happen to me. I put my phone on charger with about 60%battery left. When I went to check on phone after charging, it was completely dead. No charging lights, nothing! I tired to charge again but still nothing. Strange thing was this battery was fairly new. Well, I happened to have another battery. I put it in the phone and then my phone came back to life! My battery had somehow died during charging. The new battery fixed the phone. Maybe you should try another battery, just in case the same thing happened to you? It sure wouldn't hurt to try. I wish you the best and hope you get your problem solved. Good luck.

dead machine?

I have a strange problem. My reboots/backups every night. This morning, it was completely off instead of standby as usual. Wierd I thought. Turned it on. Phone was off - maybe I left it off last night, not sure. Battery was at 51%.
Seems fine.
Later in the day I need to turn the phone on. Immediately it crashes - off.
I can't turn it back on. It vibrates and shows 'smart mobility', then dies again. Removed battery, tried again, same.
Back at home, plug in USB cable, ok it boots. Unplug USB, it says 'battery!' and dies. Maybe it's a battery problem? I'll need to charge it fully to see.
It has never been modified, is on WM6.0, never had any problems, no software changes in the past week.
What's wrong?
it's ur battery body. just throw it away...
anyway, if u want to be sure about that, try to install a new Rom. if ur battery is dead the Rom installation will not start & tell u that ur battery is under 50%
Don't install new ROM if U R happy with this one. Buy new battery. Period.
How long have you had it? If it's still under warranty, HTC will replace the battery. The same problem happened to me- they replaced mine.

[Problem] HTC Inspire will not work at all HELP!!

Hey all, I just got through with this hurricane sandy business and now I find my phone not working at all. First off I'd like to say that there is no water damage to this phone and it is NOT rooted. The problem is that it just won't turn on at all, and won't charge when I try to charge the device. The day before I charged the phone and it worked fine. I can provide more details if needed but I need to find a solution to this.
Did it run down on battery completely before it did this? You might need to charge it for a bit before it turns on. Also, see if you can get your hands on a spare battery to see if it's the battery's problem. I would also try removing the battery and putting it back just to make sure it wasn't jostled loose.

Two days ago I completely let the battery drain on its own because it was draining faster than usual and I was using it very minimally due to the lack of phone signal during the power outage. And yesterday I charged it until it was 100% in the morning and at night I charged it again until 100%. Before I went to bed, I turned off my phone and it was 90% and when I turned it on in the morning it was at 77% (which I thought was weird since the phone was not even on). Now the phone will not work at all. I took the battery out and everything. I even tried turning the phone on while trying to charge it (but it would not charge). The only feedback I got was that it vibrated when I tried turning it on this afternoon and after that was nothing. (it would either get stuck at the AT&T bootup part or I would get no display at all)

And nothing happened to it in between at all? That's very odd. The only thing I can think of to try is another battery.
Please post all questions in the Q & A section. Thanks! Thread moved.

Nothing I can think of. It was fully charged by 9PM the other night and shut off before I went to bed. Next morning the batter is nearly halfway drained for no apparent reason. I think I will get another battery to test.
Also I let the battery sit out of the phone for a few days now and the phone still does not work.

Get a hold of a charged battery, then after 1 hour with no battery in the device, replace the battery remove the SD-Card and the SIM-Card, replace all covers. Reboot your PC and go to firewall tab in the control panel and turn of your firewalls, then reboot your PC, then using USB data cable not a charging cable.. with your device being OFF conect to a USB connection in the back of your PC, if it's a laptop use the one next to the intranet connection. Then wait about 1min. If nothing happwned, hold the volume down button then press and release the power button. if nothing happened, hold the volume up then press and release the power button. If nothing happened do the samething this time by holding both up and down volume buttons. If nothing happened with your device connected to the PC go to MY Computer tab right click on C>Properties then go to tools click on check disc tab check mark both options then restart your PC. Before windows tour OS starts, your PC will go through a self check. let it do its thing. it takes a couple of hours. then after its down check to see if it has seen your device. if not then do procedures above once again. GOOD LUCK.

Okay so I finally got it to turn on but in order to charge it, the phone must be turned off for some reason. Also, the touch screen is not working, even after I did a hard reset and erased all my data. I'm not sure if it is a hardware issue or a software issue because the display is working fine.

That same thing happened to a friend of mine. She took it to a technician tho and they sorted it out for her.
Hello every one, this just my first post here, but I have been follow the forum very very close since some days ago thanks to Mustaavalkosta and his new CyanogenMod Rom here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2533007&page=283.
I am having a similar problem with my HTC Inspire, here is my story. I bought it like it a year ago, the first thing I do was to rooted with AAHK and install CyanoyenMod cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-ace. Everything works just fine till a couple of months ago. One night I just leave my Inspire and go to sleep, the next morning I wasn't able to turn on, not charging, not turn on. Was not the battery because my brother has another Inspire and I check with his battery. I just leave the phone without the battery and Sim and SD for a day and them come back again, but at next day the same occurs. I try all that time, vol down+power. voldown+volup, every convination but nothing works. So I decide to dissensambly my phone... in the process I broke the ribbon flex cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-HTC-Desire-HD-Inspire-4G-Camera-Socket-Keypad-Membrane-PBC-Ribbon-Flex-Cable-/320925341841?pt=US_Cell_Phone_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4ab8a41891 The phone was in parts on my table like a month till I was able to buy and recieve the ribbon (I live in Colombia). Finally the ribbon arrives 3 days ago, so I assembled the phone again and...magic! the phone turns on. My next step was install the Mustaavalkosta Rom that I mentioned before.... but, yesterday, my phone was dead again. So a try all steps again, put out the battery, Sim and Sd... and again try all the combinations of buttons, but nothing works... So I do it again: dissensably again my phone: Only disconnecting the display doesn't works... I have to disconect the display and the ribbon cable, assembled again and just turn on again.... Now I am waiting for the next black out...
I know is a weird behavior, but may be some one can point me in some direction to fix it.. I am not a developer or anything like that, but I like to investigate and solve problems... any help will be wonderful.
Cheers!
PD: I dont have any apps installed, just trying the Rom as it is.
PD: The next time it happens I will try the niavaran advises.

[Q] Blank screen when turning on phone?

Hi, I'll explain what happened.
My phone recently turned off (the screen kind of fizzled away to black) So I assumed this was the battery running out. When I got home I put it on charge and as I usually do waited a few minutes, then tried to turn on, to charge whilst on, the screen lit up the phone vibrated and the start up tune played, but only a lit up blank screen appeared?
I thought it might need more charging so I removed the batter to turn it off and put on charge again, whilst it was "charging" there was a flashing amber light for about 4 seconds at a time, this never turns steady or green, when just leaving on charge.
After numerous batter removals and replace the phone still does the same thing when turned on, but now with no sound, and still appears if the screen is on but blank and the four soft keys are lit, then if I press the power button or if I leave it, the screen goes off itself until I press the power key again (this same thing that would happen if going to lock screen). All of this happening with a now flashing green light?
I tried to access phone by USB cable and although laptop picks up fact something is plugged into USB, it doesn't appear on HTC sync or memory card doesn't appear.
When trying to hold in volume down and power on it's as if it's going to the right screen but still blank.
Stock rom on phone, S-OFF
Anyone have any ideas, without replacing phone?
Thanks
its seems like your phone has bricked.
1. First try this
2. if step 1 doesnt work, follow this
read step by step. good luck!
Have you tried a new battery? My phone went completely black while charging and it showed no signs of life, no charging light nothing. It was a new battery with about 60Percent charge when I put it on the charger. I noticed like you did, I tired to charge more but not even a light would come on. I happened to have another fully charged battery I kept as a spare. When I put the spare battery in, the phone sprang back to life! I threw the other battery away and have had zero problems since. So I suggest you try a new fully charged battery before you do any thing else. Strange thing was the battery I was using was fine the day before and even had the 60 percent charge when I put it on charger. I'm not sure how it happens but somehow the battery just died on charger. So give a new battery a try and see if it will also help you. If it doesn't, then likely it's failure of your device. But please do try because the exact same thing happened to me and the new fully charged battery fixed the problem! I'm hoping it will also fix it for you! Best of luck! You can get a good battery online for under 20 dollars. I recommend Anker extended battery. I really hope this works for you! Let us know.

I'll try this as a last resort and if not I'll get a new phone, cheers and I'll let you know what if anything works
So I get to the point where I have to ./brickdetect.sh and the phone isn't picked up or recognised, any idea how I can get the laptop to pick up the connection properly?

[Q] Sensation dead after pulling battery (blricked?)

Good evening,
In early december i got my Samsung Galaxy nexus to replace my (second) HTC Sensation, which i sold to a coed
I flashed the (at that time) current Viper Sense 4.0 rom and it worked flawlessly until last saturday
She wrote an exam, so she shut dwn the phone, removed the (stock) battery and put it in her pocket, though after reinserting the battery the device does not bother showing any sign of life.
The battery was at about 80-90% when she shut down the phone
i sold her my dockingstation (that can power an additional battery, i gave her my 1900 mah anker replacement battery as well which she did not use that much, dunno why) which she used to charge both batteries. though nothing worked.
The LED does not turn on when plugging the phone into my laptop, my portable anker battery or any charger, it does not boot into recovery, nothing, no sign of any life left. out of nowhere.
Do you have any suggestions what to do or where this could've come from?
it'S s-off'd (juopunutbear version, so it might be s-on'd again, if i could revive it) and i've not yet found the receiptt, so any solution that does not involve sending in the device is much appreciated. if there is no way around this would be the last alternative, but maybe some of you have a suggestion?
Thanks alot in advance

Hi,
This might be a long shot.
Remove the battery,sd card, and sim card.
Plug the phone into the wall charger, and charge for 5-6 hours.
Meanwhile charge up the battery in the docking station.
Then, put it all back together, and try again.
If nothing,look HERE

thanks!
might this be some sort of deep discharge or something? i already removed the sd, sim and battery today and plugged it into my laptop, though my USB ports only have ~500mah
will definitely tell her to try that out (as i don't have the phone with me)
/€ i've already looked up the unbricking project, but this requires the device to be reacting in any way
one thing i considered as well: i know the sensation is sensitive to bridging some connections (like the goddamn wire trick that failed so many times when i tried to s-off it in the first place )
might some dust or anything else have bridged some contact points that can cause this?
This seems very similar to the problem with my phone, you can achieve the QHUSB_DLOAD by putting a paperclip in the left hole (rather than the right that was used to s-off) and making contact with the sd card holder.
Though, i haven't been able to actually un brick my device as it still isn't being detected by the bricked script.
this is similar to my phone problem... I only clean the pin connector in phone and battery and expecially in the phone i push in four pin connector ..... sorry for my bad english i hope you understand
thanks, she pluggied it in for sme hrs without SD/SIM/Battery and when she inserted the battery the phone came up again, that did the trick
Dunno how this can happen, but thx anyways!

New battery, phone doesn't boot

Hi all,
My Nexus 5's battery was draining extremely fast and a factory reset / clean rom flash didn't help. So I decided to get a new battery. After installing the battery I found out the phone didn't boot. I opened up the phone again to double check all connectors I touched were in place and I even reconnected them just to be sure. My phone still didn't turn on so I hooked it up with my *original* charger and USB-cable. All I see is the charging screen (battery with lightning icon) and a few seconds later my phone turns off, only to repeat this cycle. I'm able to boot into the bootloader, the phone stays on but immediately turns off when I pull the charger. When trying a normal boot I see the Google logo and a few seconds later the phone turns off and falls back in its charging-screen-cycle.
I looked up some troubleshooting on the Google site (https://support.google.com/nexus/troubleshooter/3337561?hl=en#ts=3337943) but that didn't fix my problem either. What should I do?
The battery I ordered is an original LG TL-B9 battery.
Thanks in advance!
Are you sure the battery isn't shot or some hardware on your device isn't working
Try re-installing the old battery so that you can identify whether it's a dud new battery or if the phone itself is dead. A real pain, I know, but best to eliminate the one changed component before wasting time looking for possibly non-existent problems in working hardware.
I reinstalled my old battery shortly after I created this thread, and my phone worked again. There was a small tear in the flat cable from the connector, so I got a new battery and that one works.
Excellent!
