Wanting to start unlocking my tf300; i saw a cliff
If i brick it
to attack without stress, i want a second main/logic/mother-board
And i hope to buy one motherboard before to flash anything
one of you has already changed the logic board
I find one board on ebay but only for US shipping and i live in France
is this a good idea? or unnecessary fear

Just Installed one
I just installed one to revive my bricked 16GB tablet. I would not buy one until you need it. I would HIGHLY recommend getting NVFlash snapshots if you have those you cant be bricked by a failed boot loader flash.
Best,
Feend
PS provided you have ICS and not JB. It is not possible as of yet to get NVFlash access on JB.
One from ebay?
Easy to fix it?
No nvflash for me, jb 4.1.1

Took 20 min or so fairly easy. Bought a tab w/ a bad digitizer cheap off eBay.
You can get them from these guys too I think.. http://www.portatronics.com You would have to ask them to order you one.

i just unlock and root without stress
but i always want to buy another card just in case

Do you think if I RMA the tablet they can still see that it is rooted?
wooow thank you for this!in last months i used tf very rarely, because i have 2 prob:
display broken,but very usable yet
battery not charge.or i should leave it always docked or always on ac charger (and i blame asus with all my voice for putting 15v in out on the charger)

hi everyone
sorry for digging up such an old thread
does anyone have the correct part number for the tf101 lcd screen?
I am looking into buying the Infinity but am concerned about the Q/C issues that I have been reading about. I am adding a poll in the hopes that I will be able to get a better visual representation of how many tablets people have gone through before getting a tablet that doesn't have any issues. It is also my hope that this poll will help others who are in my position. I know that there are other threads detailing the problems but I am hoping for an easier way to see the actual results. Thank you for your participation!

great poll to run and showing the results that I have experienced from Asus products. I have had a TF101, then a TF201 (standard GPS issues) and now my TF700T. Also have a UX31E ultrabook that works just as great as my transformer.
Only one for me too. Never had a problem.

I didnt tick anything on the poll. But I bought one and exchanged it for a note coming next week. If i dont like the note Ill probably take another stab at the infinity when JB comes out.
Third one was perfect for me. First had badly bonded screen, second was worse still, third seems to be fault free, now unlocked running zeus 4, very happy.

Never had a problem, too! So happy with my TF700!

I bought one, returned it and didn't bother with another. After issues with the 101 and 201, I'm sick of farting with Asus.
Gave up on number five. I might try again in a month or two if I see more positive threads in here.

Check out my post on blotches on my screen..I may be selling this on kijiji when it comes back from RMA.. not impressed as the keyboard had to be fixed one due it separating on one corner..
Hey Guys!
I have gotten my second Infinity yesterday, since the first one had serious clicking issues.
Guess what? This time: clicking frame + slight light bleed AND the wrong colour!
I really don't know what to do...
Should I request a new one or just ask my money back and buy something else?
What do you think?

THank you for your reply back.. Has anyone else seen that blotching occur??
I sent colour photos along with my RMA form...
I am most likely going to hold onto the Infinity and then when the ASus VIVO Windows 8 comes out , I will get it.... you guys feel that I should be able to get a good price for the Infinty as long as I keep it in good shape..with the keyboard dock??
Anyone know the release dates for the VIVO here in Canada??
First one.. with no issues.
I want to thank everyone who has replied and voted in the poll. It's nice to visualize the results.

I Got screen lifting issues still waiting for a replacement Infinity. It's been 2weeks no word yet, anyone getting screen bleeding and I don't like how the tablet gets air pockets under the screen if you press a little too hard on the screen. I've had random freezing issues and the screen just blanking out for no reason. Have to reboot to get the screen going to again.....Weird.
Wow what a difference it makes!
I was running happily on stock but getting impatient waiting for jb. Anyway in a few moments I unlocked, installed twrp recovery and installed Zeus v4 lite.
Restored all my apps from tibu and one reboot to make sure.....
It's nice and smooth, lite, zippy and I can't believe I have waited this long. If you are thinking of doing it what are you waiting for?

better yet, buy squaretrade warranty and unlock it. i was happy with my infinity but got to admit, zeus rom run 2x better and smoother. I cannot go back to stock.
Agree completely - Zeus ROM runs so much better than stock that I really think it's worth it to unlock. If you are worried about the warranty, just get a SquareTrade warranty - they are much better than Asus factory warranty coverage anyway (which, from my understanding, is absolutely horrible)...

I have to completely agree with you on this. I hesitated bit I read too many good things about the Zeus rom. I have been more than completely satisfied and have never looked back

Unlocking was the best thing I ever did for this tab...its faster, gets better battery life, and is just a lot more fun to use....if anyone isn't 100% happy with it and haven't unlocked it yet then its a no brainer....root...unlock...and install Zeus.

Interesting - now I'm curious - I can't imagine getting much better performance in ICS than I do with Zeus, but I may just have to try it now!
Have you ever ran Zeus 4.0?
Has anyone else ran both Zeus 4.0 and the ROM that @lafester speaks of? If so, any performance comments?
Thanks.
EDIT: @lafester - I can't seem to find the version of this ROM that has the tweaks added (I do see the original). Do you have a link to it?

Look into getting a SquareTrade warranty - that way if you do brick your tablet, you'll be covered! They aren't that much money - with a discount code, I got a 2 year plan (which includes the optional coverage in case I would break the glass, drop it in a swimming pool, etc) for about $80! Can''t beat that for total piece of mind!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
Can I still get square trade warranty if my tablet is more than a month old?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
It depends where you bought it. If you bought it at a retail store, I believe that you have up to 90 days to buy a SquareTrade warranty. If you bought it off of Ebay, I think you only have 30 days.

I must say, im very pleased with Amazons replacment\refund policy, my new tf700t is on is way. Mine currently is experiencing a random line through the screen when doing online reading ( not very often but enough to piss me of on a 500 dollar device) and the screen is starting to pop up around the bottom edge. So I talked with Amazon's customer service and they are very pleasant, and got the replacement on it's way and I get to use this one till it arrives. Pretty sweet deal all without leaving my chair sure am glad I didn't unlock my boot loader!!!

But anyway, its good to know Amazon honors its return policies with lenience. I usually go with BestBuy but their stock and selection is always so limited!

So I just bought this and I love the look and feel of it, but I can't get it to work. All of the physical buttons (all three of them lol) work fine; the screen comes on fine..it just doesn't accept touches. But, weirdly, I left it alone for a while and let it charge, and it worked fine for about five minutes. Got to the part of setup where I would normally put in my account info, and the touch screen stopped working.
Is this possibly a defective unit?

Just sent a message to Amazon Warehouse Deals. Waiting to see if I can get lucky and get a replacement (doubtful). Till then, I suppose I'll admire the beauty of what could've been :<
I'll update this post with their reply once/if I get one.
Edit: they messaged me back saying they would give me a full refund back for the defective unit. Me, being the impatient person that I am, will probably just turn around and just buy a new one from walmart.

If you take it to a ups store, they should be able to box it and everything, but if all you're shipping it in is the actual Asus box and handing it off to the driver..I'd be willing to bet he'd look at you rather funny. To be safe, I'd throw it in a small brown box and attach the shipping label.

Just got it 2 days ago if i again start having problems with this one I'm just going to return it for a refund and get a brand i know n trust. Samsung. This tablets are not made well. Even when I hold it it cracks on me. Not well put together like I know Samsungs tablets are just as well made as my note 2. Bought this tablet thinking it was the best. Now it's all but buyers remorse. Rather pay an extra 100 to 200 if it meant my tablet will be well made and no problems. The little time ive had with this device and already messing up. Plain Stupid
