jellybean root problem? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Ok so I used the sticky on the top of the android development to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974114
Go to JB. Where we odin the 99percent factory image that allows us to flash a custom recovery
And keep our data. However after I flash the recovery in part 2 I can't boot into recovery to do step
3. When I hold home power and the up button it says its booting recovery.. however simply boot loops.
So I am stuck with a stock jellybean. I have no backup unfortunately. I want to be able to get this working
Any help?
Is this happening to others?

recovery boot issues - red triangle, then reboot

I'm having issues getting recovery to work on a Verizon version xoom. I first flashed CWM version 4.0.0.4. The first time I tried to boot into it, it was stuck on the android with the red triangle for a long time before finally getting into it (coincidentally when I was hitting the volume key, don't know if that's related). Anyway, since then I haven't been able to get into it. It will be suck on the red triangle screen for a minute or two before rebooting into the stock rom (I'm running stock ICS). Since then, I've tried flashing the new TWRP 2.2.2 or whatever version it is and it has no effect. It's still doing the same thing. Any clue what's wrong?
So what I'm reading is suggesting that the android guy I'm seeing is the stock recovery. I'm not sure how that's happening. I'm installing the recovery using fastboot on my PC and being in the bootloader on my xoom. The prompts on both appear to confirm success.
I haven't tried this yet as I'm at work, but I think I've got the issue sorted. The following is what appears to be happening from what I've read.
1. I've still got the custom recovery stalled. When the Android guy pops up, one needs to press volume up to enter the options. Otherwise, it reboots.
2. The recovery flashes are taking because I'm booting back into the rom after a flash. The system's built in recovery protection is re-flashing the original recovery at that point.
3. To make my CWM/TWRP/whatever flash stick, I'll need to power down and then boot directly into the recovery.
I'll post again tonight to say if this works. Hopefully this thread can help out others who have the same issue.
If you don't get that to work fastboot img from link..

[Q] How do I revert back to stock and unroot?

I thought it would be cool to see what the fuss is about rooting and loading a custom ROM but I just dont see the point after playing around the last few days.
I followed the rooting instructions online for the HTC One S ville and then made it to the loading Clockwork Recovery onto the phone and performing an Nandroid backup like it suggested. Well thats where I ran into the issue of not being able to boot into anything else afterwards it would just keep booting to Clockwork Recovery screen. I figured out that I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds and then it will boot properly to stock android ROM. So once I figured that out I began using the tutorial to load the Viper ROM. Once I loaded the viper rom I ran into an issue at step #11
After you configured it, reboot to your bootloader in fastboot mode

I stopped there because I was still stuck at the issue of being booted to the Clockword Recovery screen and unable to get to the bootloader screen. Even now if I shutdown my phone it just restarts to the Clockwork Recovery screen and I have to do the 10 second power button trick to get around it. (remember I did not complete steps 11-20 from post #5 here on the instructions)

So I was just wondering what I should do to get back to complete stock android rom and see about unrooting my phone.

Did you wide data/cache before you flashed your custom rom?
There are several ways to get back to your stock rom... If you made a backup of your stock rom via cwm just restore it.. if you didnt make a backup just find the correct ruu for your device and flash it that way, if you dont have super cid you will need to find the correct ruu or it will not flash. If you need any more infomation please let me know and i will do my best to help you out step by step.

Keep trying to get into the bootloader with holding the power for 10 seconds then as soon you see stop flashing hold the Vol- and power then use the all-in-one kit to install TWRP recovery then you wont have this problem any more and you will still need to fastboot boot.img for the rom to work.

No i did not clear the cache or the dalvik cache....im not sure if i wiped data to be honest since it was a few months back. I still have not wiped either caches as of now either.
I'm going to try to download twrp or whatever from the android market right now

Phone boots into Recovery automatically, every time.

Yes, as stated in the subject, I've reverted to stock firmware for my specific device (Photon Q C Spire) from trying a few different custom roms, and have this issue now. It will load properly if I don't install custom recoveries. I've tried different CWM and TWRP versions, and none will load Android as the stock recovery does.... Any suggestions?
p.s. I was looking into possibly using something called an SBF file...
Reverting to the stock firmware, you use RSD Lite to flash a FXZ file - you have already done this or not?
Yes, I that's how I got back to factory settings. I lost my root and custom recovery in the process of course. But after booting Android, and doing the initial setup and activation, I decided to install a custom recovery to root it that way. Well, couldn't boot past recovery, so, had to revert back to stock recovery and root via the exploit with Android running in developer mode... sucks. But I'm currently rooted on a fully functional 4.1.2 C Spire FXZ.
So what's you end goal? Stock ROM with custom recovery?
You fastboot flash the custom recovery of your choice, boot said recovery, take a backup.. and then when you try to 'Reboot System' to boot Android, it fails to boot? How long did you let it boot? Do you get a boot animation?
No boot animation, because it boots straight into recovery no matter if I hard reset, soft reset, power/down power up or any means of trying to load Android. Also, the bootloader/fastboot screen wouldn't even load, it goes straight into the custom recovery every time. The only way I could get into bootloader/fastboot was by holding the Vol+Pwr keys. So, what I did was install stock recovery, and it then booted normally.

Well it seems like you're good then...?
When I was on stock, I installed TWRP and immediately took a backup of my stock configuration. I still have that backup, and it still works fine.

recovery on P5113

Hey guys... i've been trying to put a custom rom on this old p5113.... i've tried flashing latest TWRP on it with odin which odin claims its successful, but when i reboot the device and try to go into recovery i get back the original samsung recovery.... it's almost like it overwrites recovery at boot... i've read number of guides on this but i seem to be following the same steps they're suggesting.... am i missing anything obvious? from my understanding it's a straight up odin flash on custom recovery and then just use that to wipe/format and install rom + gapps.
Any ideas?

how are you doing it exactly, do you unplug the usb cable just as you see its "passed" with green status? or let it reboot itself? or are you rebooting it yourself? usually it will reboot itself into the recovery after it is successful, sometimes it goes to the system directly, generally the idea is to get into the recovery mode as soon as you flash it through odin. you should not let it boot and go to system( means don't let it start your rom, no samsung logo instead go to recovery first by pressing your volume up with power button. (if it's not going directly into recovery)

Your mistake is you are letting it boot into system before you boot into recovery. It doesn't work like that, you obviously haven't carefully and completely read the instructions to install custom recovery via Odin.
You have to flash the recovery and then boot immediately into recovery BEFORE allowing the device to boot into any other mode, otherwise, it reverts back to stock recovery.
Here is the simplest way to do this without screwing it up.
When you flash the recovery in Odin, make sure the "autoreboot" option in Odin is UNCHECKED, then flash the recovery. When it is done flashing, disconnect the device from PC, then, you have two options, either remove the battery then immediately reinsert the battery then boot into recovery using the button combination or disconnect device from PC then power the device off then boot into recovery using the button combination.
