[Q] Sent email stuck in local Sent Items folder - HTC Sensation

Hi... I've been using the stock Android email client to access my email on a standard IMAP email server and I've never been able to get the emails sent from my phone to sync with the server. I've even tried copying them to another folder which does sync', but they stay local and do not appear in that folder on the email server.
I've just bought myself a Galaxy SIII and having tested the stock Android client on that, I am relieved to report that emails sent from the phone DO appear in the server Sent Items folder.
The problem is how I save the many hundreds of emails I have stuck in the local Sent Items folder on my Sensation? For legal reasons, it is critical I retain them somehow. Even just exporting them to the MicroSD would be better than nothing. Can anyone help please? Thanks in anticipation...

"Sent box" of Push Email?

I was trying the mail2web OWA service but I found the email I sent from Pocket Outlook account would NOT be retained. I checked the Sent Box and nothing inside. But the email was sent out successfully though. Any advice please?
Just sync again, and your email must appear in your sent box.
from manage folders menu did you selected the send box to sync with other folders...
I have my 8125 sync'd up w/ my exchange server at work with direct push. The only mail I can "see" on my PDA is in the Inbox folder. Once I move it to another folder it dissapears on the phone.. but it does actually get moved where I tell it too... same with sending mail, it sends it fine.. but once its in the sent items folder I can't see it unless I'm using OWA or Outlook on an actual machine.
Probably set this way by default to save space?
... what sajib said should allow you to see mail in other folders...
Sorry about the somewhat-late reply.
My Sent folder doesn't sync, as well. When a message is sent from the device, it'll briefly appear in the Outbox then disappear completely.
It used to work correctly. I could send an email from my PC and within seconds have it appear on the device. Now it doesn't. I did restore from a backup since it was first setup, and that could be the problem.

No I did not, until I got the reply from 4smartphone support
Now it works flawlessly !!

Hotmail (Windows Live Mail) Sync question!

Further to my last thread (this is a separate issue so i thought i'd make a separate thread)....
How does Hotmail syncing work on Windows Mobile? i'm mostly asking about the sent items.
When i send an e-mail from my phone, it's saved into my sent items folder, which is then synced with the Hotmail 'server' so i can view that sent item regardless of where i log on....
But when i delete my sent items from Hotmail (via my PC etc) the sent items don't sync, and i'm left with loads of sent items on my phone (if i forget to delete them regularly).
Initially i thought it was because syncing wasn't enabled... but it must be if they're appearing on the hotmail server.... !?
if anyone can shed some light (maybe i'm just being dumb!) i'd appreciate it!
Thanks!
(I've just got a Kaiser, running WM6 and i notice that i've had to manually go into 'folder management' to enable syncing for sent items... so i'm wondering if it works differently on WM6!?)

Sent items sync issue (not your common sent items goof up)

Guys,
I searched around for this problem on this site and the ppcgeeks site, but really didn't find this documented anywhere, so here goes. Please don't flame me it this was solved somewhere, I looked, promise...
I am running WM6 (from helmi/rob mayer) and I use exchange server to sync email to my ppc6700 (over the air).
I've been just fine for the past 2 months, when all of a sudden (lat night) my "sent items" folder does not sync right. (I did not change any settings)
But this is not the common "sent items" goof up that other people make:
My problem is that when I send an email FROM my device:
1. I never get a copy of it in my handheld's "sent items" folder
AND ALSO
2. My laptop (also connected to exchange) never gets the copy of this email in its "sent items" folder.
Just for a sanity check, whenever i send an email to myself (from handheld), I DO get it in my inbox (both laptop and handheld).
And if I send an email from my laptop, it DOES appear on the handheld's "sent items", so that part is working.
Even deleting email from the handheld does delete it from the exchange server. Furthermore, when i delete an email from the handheld's sent items folder, it DOES delete from the exchange server. So all of that is working just dandy.
The ONLY problem is when I SEND email from the handheld ONLY, that the message never appears in the "sent items" of both the handheld and the laptop. (The message does get sent, but the server never somehow retains a copy of it!). This part seems broken.
Of course I have the setting "keep copies of sent items in sent folder" ENABLED and also i have made sure the "sent items folder" is enabled for SYNC on both the handheld and the laptop (its a common setting anyways)
My hosting provider uses exchange server 2007
Any ideas?
EDIT: I went ahead and deleted the activesync relationship and created a new one (this wiped the emaill off the device and re-downloaded it). This did NOT solve the problem. I still can't get the email in the sent items folders...
EDIT: My hosting provider told me they upgraded to the Service Pack 1 for Exchange Server 2007 over the past few days, anyone know if this might be the cause?
Same here
I'm experiencing the exact same issue with a Cingular 8525 with WM6 using a hosted exchange account with Hostway. Items sent from my device items do not appear in the sent items folder in Outook on my device and they do not appear in my sent items folder in Outlook on my PC. I'm assuming that means they aren't saved in my sent items folder on the Exchange server. However, the messages are being sent because I see them quoted when a recipent replies. It's unnerving because I have no confirmation that I sent the email until I see it quoted in a recipient's reply, which isn't very useful for business purposes.
Have you found a solution yet? TIA.

Synchronize Sent Items in Pocket Outlook w/Desktop

If I send an email from pocket outlook it is never synchronized to the sent folder in the desktop version of outlook. Anyone have any suggestions? What a bad design! If I ever have to do a soft reset or phone upgrade (= YES at some point) then all those sent emails are lost?
Partial Solution - Sent Mail FolderSynchronization
I do not want my emails left on a server, so I use POP3. "Profimail", a third party PPC prorgram - is the one I use. It is the only one I can find which allows automated BCC copies to be sent that are not listed on each email - and copies are automatically sent to a different email account I use for this purpose. I also have profimail set up to hide emails sent to that addres in it's sent folder that have been sent to that BCC addres..I have outlok set to receive emails from that BCC address as we'll, but with a rule to automaticaly move any emails sent to that addresss automatically moved to the sent folder in outlook. This works perfectly except for one gap left... showing all the emails sent from the desktop only - on the pocket PC. Any ideas?

[Q] IMAP Sent messages not being saved

I don't know if this problem is Inspire-specific, or applies to Android in general, but messages sent via IMAP from my phone are not stored on the server. Is there a setting I neglected to apply somewhere?
Interestingly enough, I notice that the outbound server settings on the handset don't match my ISP. The server requires port 26, the phone is set to port 25. Also, I see the following folders, which don't correspond to anything I see on my server:
Inbox
Trash
Sent (messages sent from desktop Outook are here)
Drafts
Outbox
[the below folders do not appear on my server]
INBOX.Deleted items
INBOX.Drafts
INBOX.Junk
INBOX.Sent (nothing in here)
INBOX.Sent Items (some messages in here which were sent from desktop)
INBOX.spam
INBOX.trash
Should I just delete and recreate the accounts? Is it possible that this mess has occurred from various ROM updates without wipes, or restoration of TiBu data?
It's just confusing as hell and I need to be able to have copies of stuff I send from my phone. After all, isn't that the whole idea behind IMAP?
Hope someone can help.
