Hi everyone!
I just received a Xoom MZ601 (Wifi + 3g)
The current android version is 3.1
I downloaded the Motorola Device Manager and have been trying to update the Android version but without any success.
It tells me that I need to connect in Media Connection mode - Cant find it anywhere.
How do I go about updating my Xoom. What is the latest version available? What is recommended?
Consider me a Noob. Would appreciate links, instructions or anything that could help.
Wish you all a Happy New Year

Please aware of update this unit model Mz601 (Hong Kong Version)
I have used clockwork mod to root my unit and got the superuser on apps
then found the new release from Bigpart repartition http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506997
I was finally hoping that it would fix the Hong Kong Partition problem on this model MZ601
I followed all the instruction carefully and can access the TWRP 2.6.3.0 R.A.H BigPart Edition Recovery but it still won't repartition the device.
Hoping in the next coming week they have a fix for this problem
My device on show internal storage of 4292mb under the mount menu not the 32g as seen on forums
Also checking the cmd top right corner of the TWRP but freezes with updating partition details won't show partitions.
Good luck

If you have an Asia Xoom 3G Head to shell9.wordpress.com
There's a guide there that should help you out.
If your xoom is the wifi version then you can safely follow the US guides. There is no hardware difference on the wifi version. So there is nothing to worry about.

Hi all. I'm new to the Android & I don't have the USB cable at the moment so I'm willing to update it manually. I bought this S3 from Craigslist in great condition. However, I can't seem to update it without service because when I tried to, it says, "Service Unavailable." In the androidcentral forum, they said I have to find the official firmware for my phone, rename it to "UPDATE" then put it on my SDCard root and then boot it into recovery mode so it can automatically update, but however, I can't seem to find my baseband version which is I535VRLHE.
I've looked everywhere for this firmware to no avail. Can anyone here provide me the link to a website that has my baseband? I need to update it in order for my phone to be unlocked with GSM. I'm running on a 4.0.4 right now and wanting to update it to Jelly Bean.
PS: Phone is not rooted and I don't want to root it either

Does anyone know how to modify the TF update at Hisense AD686G? My phone can't get enter to fastmode and recovery mode, it can only use TF update metode. But the problem is that the most recent update of TF update can't be using, because there is always writing "new version only allowed to upgrade".
The last update version from TF update is 4.1.2, then is it possible that I could edit the update as if version 4.2 or above? already one week there is no solution even from the service centre. Thanks in advance
Here the link for tf update https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B0gV0zeHzF1WVlRNeWpsdWZhWW8&export=download

Hey Guys -
I've looked all through the forums for an answer, but couldn't find a concrete one nor one I was 100% would work for my specific device so decided to post the 3 questions I have...
I've got a Shield Tablet (Wi-Fi USA) which I bought pretty much on day one. Once Lollipop came out, I upgraded to it and in turn re-rooted it afterwards. About a week ago, i got the notification for the 5.0.1 OTA upgrade. I tried applying it by downloading the update then restarting when prompted, but when it came back up it was still at 5.0.0. I'm positive this is due to it being rooted and would still want (need) for it to be after the 5.0.1 upgrade so...
1. What's the best / safest way to apply 5.0.1 (from 5.0.0) to my tablet currently?
2. Will OTA not work if rooted which is why there are so many zip file links in the forums? If not, which update file do I need for USA WiFi only?
3. Once upgraded, what's the best / safest method for re-rooting again? I saw a few posts for how the bootloader needed to be unlocked. Don't know if that's still the latest info. Long way from Towel, huh?
I'm not asking anyone to spell it all out for me, but if you know what to do if you could send me links or whatever to the correct steps / files, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks guys!
Hi
I have had a bit of a disaster with my new Honor 6. It came with
kitkat, but I saw a link to install Lollipop for local update (ie don't
wait for OTA). (I am in the UK by the way)
Installed ok, but then the keyboard disappeared only voice commands,
and it seemed it was the Indian version. I tried to roll back using
B500 then to B396 but seemed to have intermittent problems connecting
to Google Play. I have had this before on a Chinese sourced Huawei
which I believe was because the firmware wouldn't allow authentication
with Google Play - well not more than once or twice, then would lose
it.
I have finally managed to get to build H60-L04V100R001C00B396 and it
*seems* to be happy with Play at the moment. I factory reset and oddly
it asked me to select the Vodafone type from a dropdown (including
prepay and postpay - wtf?) and couldn't get Vodafone data working until
I tinkered with the APN which I hadn't had to do with the original
install.
Bottom line : am I on the right version for the UK and should be ok
with google Play going forward - and will be able to upgrade to
Lollipop when it hits UK via OTA?
If not, what should I do?
Sorry for long post, but any help gratefully received.
