I Have rooted my phone, and have the clockworkmod. I havent paid for the full version, but have verified that my binaries are up to date.
I am trying to create a nandroid backup, but when I go to the clockworkmod, then backups, then create backup, my phone reboots, then I get a triangle with an exclamation point that is rotated slightly counter clockwise, and a green android man standing to the right of it. at that point, nothing happens.
There are no menus, no options, nothing. I then have to restart my phone as usual.
I have scoured to internet and the forums but have not seen this issue or any related problem. How can I create a useful backup that I can restore from.?
I have mybackup Pro, and have created data backups, but when it comes to backing up my apps including APKs, the backup begins, then all the sudden my phone restarts and when I check the manage and restore areas, there are no backups for my apps.
Before I rooted my phone this program worked fine. Now all the sudden I cannot backup my apps.
I have also restored quite a bit from my previous backups, but the personalized settings for each app were not saved nor recovered.
At this point I have been unable to create any sort of useful backup, which means I do not want to risk downloading a new ROM such as ICS.
Im not sure how to procede, but my main question is why wont clockworkmod work to create a backup? it seems to easy to create a nandroid backup when browsing the forums, but for whatever reason my phone either freezes or reboots on its own when attempting to do so.
All other functions on my phone work correctly.
By the way, I have a samsung galaxy s2 epic 4g touch if that helps at all.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I really want to try some other ROMs, especially the newer versions of ICS since I am doubtful that anytime in the near future I will get an upgrade for it. especially with the s3 coming out with ICS already on it, I suspect it will be months before ICS becomes available for the S2, if it ever becomes available at all. I think manufacturuers and Sprint, Verizon and the like just want people to spend the extra money upgrading to the S3 and they will forget about the S2 alltogether.
Please advise how I can create a nandroid backup.
I have also downloaded titanium backup, but dont have the funds for the pro version, and on top of that, I have read that its a lot easier to brick your phone using that program since it is so much more powerful. Id rather stick to clockworkmod, but cannot create any sort of backup using it.
Any ideas? any suggestions? you guys seem very useful and intelligent when it comes to this stuff, and I literally just rooted my phone last weekend not more than 3 days ago and have had nothing but problems since. The root worked fine, my phone works fine including all functions, but I cant create a backup for the life of me.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe you can try to flash a different kernel with different clockwork recovery or install a different clockwork recovery. Myself I always used Titanium backup and never had any problems (just took backup user applications not system applications), but I had an international galaxy s2. There is also rom toolbox which takes backups of your applications.
Try in the forum for your phone specifically in this thread

Hello!
A few days ago my phone got wet.
After that I can no longer use the touchscreen. Everything else works fine, including unlocking it using facial recognition.
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S Plus (i9001), with a replaced screen (Crushed it 6 months ago..).
The phone has been dropped many times, but it always worked fine afterwards.
I've already decided i'm buying a new phone, but I still want to try to recover all my data on the phone (messages and appdata is important to me).
So my question is: Is there some way I can access my files? The wifi is off, and so is 3G. usb is set to mass storage mode, so I can't use kies.
Maybe I can upgrade the rom with something that automatically activates some form of filesharing?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Also: Do you think there is still hope to get the screen working? When It is unlocked I see that one of my apps is "selected" so it would seem the touchscreen is frozen - not necessarily defective.
I've read that a factory reset can help with this kind of trouble, but I don't want to do that before I have my files..
Dear all,
I have a Samsung Note 10.1 GT-N8010.
Through Kies I recently upgraded it to 4.4.2. After I did, I discovered that Kitkat imposes constraints on the use of the SD card.
I use DROPSYNC a lot to sync dropbox folders to my external sd card in the tablet and I also use MyBackupPro for backup purposes.
So, I read that you can use an app called SDFIX to address this issue. However, this app requires root. So I followed this guide:
How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Safest & No loss of Data) - Cursed4Eva.com --> video on youtube I am not allowed to post the link
Everything went according to the instructions but after reboot the tablet always seems to forget the password for the WIFI
Essentially I always have to type in the password. It is as if I had never connected to it.
It is not a router problem because I have no issues with the Samsung Galaxy S3 or with my wife's Samsung Note 10.1 GT-N8010 (which is still running 4.1.1 I think) or the laptops we have at home.
Also, I have more than one connection at home (as I use a Netgear WN3000RP Wi-Fi-Extender/) and the issue is the same with all the connections.
Also, I do have SuperSU now, I could run SDFIX and now DROPSYNC and MyBackupPro both work on the SD card.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Did you ever fix it ?
I have the exact same issue of my note not remembering wi- fi passwords but i am the official rom and have not rooted or anything non-standard.
So the problem may be a general one. This has happened to my Note over the last week, there had been no updates or anything ?

Hi there
no actually the problem escalated into something much worse
I could not bare the wifi problem and I realized that the "fixes" to the sd card had not solved any issues
Essentially, it would appear that I could write on the sd card but at reboot any change I made disappeared
So I went back to the OLD OS only to discover that these "fixes" to the SD card had ruined it completely.
Now it is unwriteable. I cannot write on it/format it with the tablet, with the PC, with specialized software (sd format) and I have to buy another one
I recently received updates notification in my S3 and disabled updates. SGRUNT!
Hope this helps

I just got a Note 4 developer edition and am almost fully "moved in". The problem is moving the Gear 2 Neo from my Note 3 to this phone - it was a pain setting it all up just the way I like it and am afraid I will miss something if I had to set it all back up on the new phone.
I wish there was a way to "image" the watch and just reload the setup as it is now.
Does anyone know of a way to do it? I would be willing to root the watch to do that - I haven't had any reason to do that previously.
Hi, i have a Galaxy Note 2, but i had a boot loop that make me reset everything and install the Stock Rom with ODIN, so i did it but months ago my wifi got broken, the Antenna Wifi of my Galaxy 2 is broken and i don't know how to fix it and i don't have enough time to go to a center that repair my phone, so i start downloading my apps with my mobile data, but there is some apps that are to heavy and my plan of mobile data is running out, so i decided to download my apps with tools that are on internet like the APK Evozi and APK Pure and somethings like that, but i had pay for apps that i want to download but i can't because my wifi is broken, so i want to know if there is any tool in which i can download my payed apps in my pc.
