anyone had this before:
the touch screen responds only while charging. when i remove the usb cable the screen does not respond anymore? hard and capacitive buttons works fine.
any help please?
The capacitive buttons are part of the touchscreen panel, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Do a reboot maybe?

i even did a hard reset and still the same problem
hmm, curious
its not going to be the OS level software then, unless you flashed that ROM that's been going about.
can you perform a hardreset via the bootloader options, do the buttons work in there? if they don't then perhaps internal damage or if you flashed that ROM perhaps its been a bad flash
have you flashed that Omnia W ROM that's been going about?

This is happening to me right now... Any idea of how to fix it?
*cleaned the charger pin hole, started working again*

My screen will not illuminate. I believe its a hardware issue, but I'd like to verify if anyone can help. The soft keys will light up and I can hear notifications, but the screen does not light up when I press the top button or slide the keyboard open. Sometimes if I fiddle with the slider, the backscreen lights up, and if it is fully open the screen will show, but with illumination so dim its not really possible to use.
I can still feel the haptic feedback, but I'm at a loss. At first I thought this was due to flashing a rom, but I restored back to a prior one that worked well. I cannot view the screen in recovery either. I would like to mount the phone as usb storage to my computer to remove a couple of .zips on the sd card and reboot. Anyone point to or show me how to do this or any other restore/resets through adb, maybe re-install a .zip through adb? Is there a way to do this through adb, pushing files or otherwise, as I cannot see anything on my phone?
thanks
Reset
You have to factory reset the phone due to one of the roms you may have installed. Sorry

Give that man a Cupie Doll . Either that, or your screen went south. In any case he is correct RUU, and take it back.
If this is a duplicate issue, my apologies. My husband's phone has locked and the touch screen is unresponsive. Pulling the battery and restarting the phone does not correct this issue. It is locked when the phone turns on. He cannot answer calls. The only way to turn the phone off is by removing the battery. Help?

Has he modified the software in anyway? Has he installed a custom rom or a different radio or the phone is fully stock?

Fully stock. I'm thinking he may have dropped it and won't fess up....it was working intermittently, but now it has been frozen for a day and a half, and I'm at a loss.

Then it seems to be a hardware issue more than a software one. However, you can try to re install the stock rom and see what happens. You can go to hboot and do a factory reset, you will lose data but it will install everything again.
Do you know how to do that?..
Power off the device
Press volume down + power
When you get to the white screen with androids, you can navigate with the volume rocker and choose with the power volume. Choose to factory reset the device and see what happens.

Thank you so much! I'm doing that now! I have this same phone (this is my 2nd one) and have no problems. I love my phone...but I also take care of it!
So that didn't change anything except the wallpaper. Am I pretty well SOL?

it seems so. Maybe something got broken...that is why it sounded like a software issue. I am sorry but I guess that your best bet is a service centre
Same thing happened to mine, never dropped it either. I had to replace the digitizer which was a pain.

The hubs took it by a repair shop this morning. The digitizer had come unplugged. :victory:
First off, i apologize if this is been addressed, but if it was i couldn't find it.
my issue is, my power/volume keys are real touchy...like i have to REALLY press them to get them to work. The funny thing is, when i go into fastboot or recovery and use the hard keys then, they work no problem,
before i factory reset and/or fastboot to stock, i wanted to see what you all thought.
Thanks
maybe....

it depends, ive always pressed the powerbutton hard because i have a tpu case, and sometimes it lags to wake...same to raise/lower volume, seems like a sw thing hopefully kitkat with its lesser memory footprint will speed up our phones...
My touchscreen is not working anymore after replacing the connector of the lcd cable -> http://www.casestores.com/images/v/20120920/696/CC11CD63.jpg . I recently changed also the mainbord flex cable -> http://www.consoleplug.com/Products...r HTC Sensation Motherboard Flex Cable-A2.gif
It is impossible for me to flash it because my recovery requires the touchscreen.
What can I do ?
You Can Flash Clockworkmod recovery via Fastboot .
It requires no Touch But isnt the best in my opinion But should work.

So you think its a software related problem. The LCD flex cable 23 pins connector which is soldered newly should have no impact on the touch screen, the only function of it is making the lcd work am İ right? İ tried 2 different touch screens without succes. The volume buttons which the connector is on the mainbord I replaced like I said above are working. I want to understand why it is a software related problemen then.

I hope so. I will try it out tuesday. Thanks for the information. If someone else had this problem too, your welcome to give me some support.
Anyone with an other solution ?
I've flashed CWM but no avail. I don't get it why should my touch screen not work after replacing the lcd flex cable. It has nothing to with that.
Hi, the other day while I was using my OPO as a GPS unit in the car, it seemed to freeze and restart, but it didn't boot. I thought it was just an empty battery problem. But since then, I haven't been able to use my phone again.
Apparently, it boots correctly, but I can't see anything on the screen. I say it boots correctly because I can hear the notifications, the led blinks, and I can even feel the feedback if I touch the capacitive buttons. Also I was able to backup my data through adb. But the screen is completely black. The only moment where it shows something is at the moment of booting, where the cyanogen logo should be, but it's completely scrambled (see attachment)...
I tried going back to stock (with the help of Bacon Root Toolkit) with no luck.
Has anyone faced the same problem? Do you think it might be a software problem? Otherwise, do you think it's a screen problem that I can fix changing the screen? Or it might be a problem with the GPU and changing the screen will not accomplish anything?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers,
Capelare.
PS: Well, apparently I can't post the image since I just registered. It's here anyway: i_imgur_com/V9oH2el.jpg Just change the _ for dots, please. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
bump
Nobody knows what might be the problem?
Reflashing didn't help anything? Even with wiping all data?
Then i think its an hardware- based problem.

Try booting into fastboot (volume up and power when off) you will hear a vibration and fastboot mode should come up, if this doesn't happen, it's pretty much a dead giveaway that the hardware is broken

Thank you! Nothing happens with any of those methods. So yeah, I also suspected that it's a hardware problem... But do you know if I can figure out if it's the screen or the graphics system (I don't know how to call it other than graphic card... and it's not a card lol) before purchasing a screen replacement... Any ideas?
Thanks again,
Capelare.

I find it hard to believe that the gpu is broken, the cpu, gpu and more are all on a single chip and I don't think one part can just fail without the others failing too... but you never know, if you can still send it to oneplus for warranty do it, it saves you a lot of time. If you can't there are a few things you can do:
1. If you had usb debugging enabled and authorized to your pc, you can try to use some screen mirroring software on your pc that works via usb.
2. Contact a repair shop that will allow you to test a new or used display with your current phone.
3. Try connecting your one to a tv by using a micro usb to hdmi cable (DON'T KNOW IF THE ONE SUPPORTS THIS!!).
Good luck!

Thanks, I can't send it to oneplus because this screen is already a replacement and I changed it myself. I will try asking for another display
I didn't know the gpu and the cpu were on the same chip, but I also think it's not likely that one would fail and not the other.

Capelare.
