Hi there. I was wondering if there's an android app out there that will let me obtain WPA keys using bruteforce method. I know Reaver lets you do it in PC but I was hoping there'd be one for Android too
Lemme know. Thanks!

Not that I know of and it would take for ever anyway....

And the only reason you could ever really want this would be for something illegal, which means it should not be discussed on XDA.
Nothing to obtain the key (and like zacthespack said, would take foreverrrrrr). There's a pretty nifty app called Faceniff though that will let you hijack peoples Facebook, Youtube etc (lots of others) sessions by sniffing their cookies, and it can do this even when network is using WPA2.
Pretty nifty app if you ask me ^_^
Unfortunately nowadays most enterprise networks are using EAP (on which Faceniff doesn't work), but you can still have fun on your friends home networks!

But XDA is based in the USA and as such has to adhere to the laws applicable in that country for all content.

Yeah... I too would like to "test my own network security" so would be interested in a similar app.

of course, of course... i forgot that most people want to know how to crack WEP keys in order to test their own network security...how short sighted of me.
Also, if anyone has a link for an IMEI-changing tool, can you PM me a link please? I want to, um, test the security of the um, flash chip? and my eh phone network? and junk?
Yeah, just for testing, not for anything illegal. Honest guv.
If you SEARCH the forum, you'll see a tool that is capable to do such things.

I can not find any reason why that would be legal.
dark side
the dark side is not far... little jedi
This should be possible given the chipset.. and with the 1ghz cpu it should get the code within minutes
Guys,
I am going to close this as there are a few threads around that already cover this ground.
Thanks

Hi,
I have been reading about Google's Openspot app these days and would like to give it a try, but apparently it's not available in my country yet. Would someone care to upload the .apk file?
By the way, do you guys know the reason for the geographical restriction? Being crowd-sourced, there should be no restricted data or reason not to use it just everywhere should there?
Open Spot
I was looking for that app too. Since I could not find it on the internet I faked a US provider and installed it from the market. And now I share it with people who don't have root.
Have fun. But I think nobody is actually using it ^^

This app is developed by volunteers at Google. It's not an "official" Project.
Visit their forums: groups.google.com/group/openspot-discuss

+1 ... help me too.... first i need to know what this does....
you install it and input ur information. If you have to ask then you probably dont need it. It acts as a handshake between you and your ISP. For example where i am at the internet is provided via wifi, however you must log in with a pppoe connection (that is what this does).
wow you're right... i prolly dont need this... thx anyway!!
WiFi PPPOE
I tried it on my Galaxy S (running 2.2.1), IT DOES NOT WORK...
it works on mine i am using a HTC Nexus one with Cyanogen 7 RC1

you can try to ping your computer's ip address via pppoe.
but you cannot visit the webpage like xxx.com

I am a chinese. I join XDA for my pppoe problem beacause most of people can't use pppoew-1.70.apk (Actually no one use wifipppoe.apk and it didn't update for so long, pppoew is the mainstream) if you don't trust me it's your business and it is your loss. I just wanna help you. because wifipppoe and pppoew is written by chinese. I see someone say he can't read the software's languare so I decide to register.
I just feel strange why XDA no one know the better pppoe software.
maybe the reason is pppoew hasn't english vision
you can search pppoew in google and decompile is OK if you can.
it is based on rp-pppoe too,
you can download the software by search. pppoew 1.6 or 1.7
organized skepticism is good. but i am still feel

It haven't.
and wifi-pppoe is the same.
but they are based rp-pppoe in linux
and rp-pppoe is open source.
In compared. pppoew doesn't request the busybox and it can custom the DNS.
wifi-pppoe can't not define the DNS make me can't visit the website but can use the QQ. (like msn)
The new Xfinity TV Go app replaces the old xfinity player. This app still requires Wi-Fi and will not work on the cellular data network. I post this because I know many want this ability.
I really hope some devs can look into the possibility of modding this app or finding another workaround to enable us to stream via our cellular data connection. Please note that this is a free program so I am not asking for warez. Anyone up to it? There must be a way.
I will be de-compiling this thing and looking for a way to achieve what I want. Don't know if I am skilled enough to do this since I really don't know a lot about .xml. Hopefully there are more experienced users and devs out there that can figure this out or maybe find a workaround. Cheers!
Bump!
Bumping this as I edited the OP. Dunno if I can do this myself or not but wish me luck on my attempt.

I'm also looking for a solution. Maybe an xposed module that tricks the app into thinking all data is WiFi?

This would be nice. In the little time I have had, I have not been able to examine the app close enough and have failed to find anything on the few occasions I have looked at it. Hopefully a dev will happen across this thread and have some interest in fixing our little problem.
EDIT: I forgot that Verizon customers have the ability to stream using cellular connection due to Comcast and Verizon being in bed together. Maybe there is a way to fool this app into thinking we are on Verizon. Might have to try some temporary build.prop edits later when I have time just to see if it works. One caveat may be that Vz is CDMA where T Mob is GSM. I also recall seeing something in the feature.xml file in the csc folder referencing VZW. Wish I had more time to mess with this.

I've been living on the Tor Network for a little bit. Mostly working on a private cloud and blog.
I'm planning on releasing some WebApps for Android that require Tor + Transparent Proxy and was wanting to know what services you would like to see as web apps.
