Has anyone tested it yet?
I wonder if it actually plays video, or it's just browsing the site... The description is pretty bare.
Interesting...didn't they just re-block hulu on android yesterday? Since it clearly states that the developer isn't affiliated with hulu, I'd be very wary of dishing out money for something that will most likely get blocked by hulu.
Ok, so it seems to work, with a few caveats...no fullscreen?? High res takes you to the real hulu.com, which denies access based on platform.
As far as i can tell, this is the only way to successfully watch Hulu. Worth $1.50...until it gets blocked of course...

Wait, so all videos are playing? Or only a sub-set of Hulu's content?
If so, couldn't we just go to Hulu Mobile (somehow) via the browser and have it work? What URL does it take you to via the app?
I can confirm the videos do play, but this app is a mess...testing mobile site now, will report back

Use the app for more than 5 minutes then tell me its worth a penny. Need to go back to your homescreen? Good luck getting back to your video...The app opens a new instance of itself every time. No fullscreen? Tolerable. No way to exit the program? Ridiculous.
This dev doesnt deserve a dollar. Its just a cash grab. But Im sure the dev will appreciate suckers like you who think bookmarking a website qualifies as a paid app. What is it exactly that you are paying for? No thanks.
I encourage everyone with Froyo to try this out and report back here. Is it worth your money?

Sounds like it's certainly not worth it.
I'm just wondering, how are they doing this?
It must be just a website, minus the URL bar.
So what's that glorious URL that they're hiding?...

The truth is out there. Is there a way to monitor network traffic (urls) within the device? An app that will log all OS actions?
I know there are smarter men than I...

Not sure what app you're using i actually just responded to a text, googled something and just clicking on the app and it openend right where I left off. Whatever, just because I can get it to work and you can't doesn't mean you gotta get all pissy. and again let me remind you it's not even TWO DOLLARS HOLY CRAP!! that's less than a bottle of water at a baseball game.
I say it's worth it. But don't bother responding to me i wont be checking back.

It's not the money that's the problem.
It's the fact that they'll probably get blocked soon too...

Yep, identical, and its amazing how much more functional the site is when utilized through a proper browser...

good link, also you can use other browsers that allow hiding the task bar so you can get full screen. Skyfire works well for me.
Guys, please keep the flaming down. Also, no discussions about cracking or finding "workarounds" for paid apps are allowed in this site. That falls under the category of warez as well.
@FuzeAction, consider this a friendly warning.

Double tap goes to full screen too. I think it works better than regular Hulu site.

To be fair, it looks like this "paid app" is nothing more than a browser without the address bar. That's not very honest.
I would have to agree that this is not a "work around". Its just going to a website that already exists. Thats like saying going to the facebook mobile site is a "work around" for Bloo.
BTW anyone who installed this app... is it still working or has hulu blocked it?
Download it!
Hit me up. : )

why?
Cant just say don't....
Sounds like SPAM to me
Noooooo.
I just need more people to talk to!
From what I read its location based social networking app. Talk to others using the same app and find people around you. Right?
Right.
And yes, I am just that lame to come here to post to get new friends on there. There aren't enough people who know about the app.
Sort of like Waze. I LOVE Waze, but there aren't enough users yet to make it work as well as it could.

Hey guys has anyone managed to get hold of this yet?
I think it may be an amazing idea. I'd be interested to know if you can make widgets with it too.
What are your views ?

Still waiting on some kind of response as well... I remember when signing up for Voice, it took a month or two to hear back and get the invitation. I'd be interested to know if anyone has actually gotten their hands on the App Inventor yet.
im waiting still too....its nerve racking : D
Same here , lets hope for a mail soon

No sign of my invite yet either, really looking forward to this.
Just so you guys know, this isn't an app you can pass around. Once you get the invite, its done through HTML5. Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you dont get an invite, there will be no way to use it

I agree but I also think that although there will be a lot of crap there will be some really good stuff. Just that little spark of genius.
And personally I would like to build apps to help me out. Almost like macros.

I think because they are easy to code.
Fortunately I have read the Google faq and the question of apps flooding the market is asked.
This is the answer:
Currently there are technical limitations to being able to upload an App Inventor app to the Andorid Market but we are actively evaluating the best way to integrate with the Market.

Download the source from Google App inventor and find the code that gets detected and change it around a bit.
Thats how most things get past detection.
HOWEVER, I will not do this of course, I am going to use App inventor for personal apps or publish it out of the market.
I have a strange thing how I learn programming, I tend to learn more from examples of code and I have learned LUA(For Gmod) and PAWN(for AMXX) but those are scripting languages.
Some App inventor apps might be worth to be on the market.
There is already lots of messy apps out there but the rating system takes care of that.
I got my invite Monday but haven't got around to trying it out yet, but i don't think you'll be able to make complex apps with this i might take a look at it next week if i get a chance i'll let ya'll know if its really game changing or not .
I found this apk and posted it on my blog. Tested it on several gingerbread deveices.
Here is the link
http://www.freshnewsarea.com/tricks/install-google-chrome-on-android-2-3-gingerbread-devices/
Its NOT Google Chrome, it clearly says at the link you provided. Google Chrome relies on APIs introduced in ICS so a GB port is not possible unless somebody were to start a completely different project of compiling for Android from Chromium source which may not even be possible.
lol..

Ya, I've found that its not chrome so I've changed the title.
But it is a good browser if you need speed
I'd recommend Dolphin HD for Gingerbread. I don't really want to download some random browser apk off some random site with all these malware reports recently.
I recommend dolphin mini!
Seems legit.
Please don't use a misleading title. This is a skinned browser to looks like Chrome.

I don't say very much, but i don't think calling xda "some random website" is cool. I've personally been here since windows 5 days and xda has been here even longer. Xda is the opposite of "some random site". No flame, just saying.

He's clearly talking about the website in the link from which you go to download it.
Its not like this is on the xda portal, there is no endorsement from xda at all. This is some random dude telling you to go to "Freshnewsarea.com" to download and sideload a browser, and lying about what kind of browser it is to boot.
If you're not at least a little skeptical of that (because you're reading it on xda which you claim to be a safe site), then I don't know what to tell you.
No flame, just saying.

I'm not talking about xda, its a legit site I've been on for years. I'm talking about the site hosting the download which is clearly not associated with xda.

dont download fake chrome apks!
There's a fake chrome APK going around claiming it works on 2.3. Note that it's a) not chrome b) hacked to include several fake chrome logos / copyrights by Goolge c) most of all -- a security threat.. the things already been modified, how do I know it's not sending my password or credit card info somewhere?
Hey this is now proven that this is a fake apk so my thread should be closed
Hi there. I was wondering if there's an android app out there that will let me obtain WPA keys using bruteforce method. I know Reaver lets you do it in PC but I was hoping there'd be one for Android too
Lemme know. Thanks!

And the only reason you could ever really want this would be for something illegal, which means it should not be discussed on XDA.
Nothing to obtain the key (and like zacthespack said, would take foreverrrrrr). There's a pretty nifty app called Faceniff though that will let you hijack peoples Facebook, Youtube etc (lots of others) sessions by sniffing their cookies, and it can do this even when network is using WPA2.
Pretty nifty app if you ask me ^_^
Unfortunately nowadays most enterprise networks are using EAP (on which Faceniff doesn't work), but you can still have fun on your friends home networks!

But XDA is based in the USA and as such has to adhere to the laws applicable in that country for all content.
