[Q] virtual video streamer - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I have a device with a CM10 build. Everything is working except video playback. Network Playback works just fine, is there a program that create a virtual stream of a video, so I can watch it normally? It has to be a actual virtual stream, without a internet connection.

[Q] Potential WiFi issue

Hey,
I just got a TF300 and I've been trying to get video streaming to work on the tab. I'm using BubbleUPNP and I've tried about a dozen video players to go with it (dice player, vplayer, moboplayer etc etc).
The issue I'm having is that the video just randomly stops. I'm not having any issues relating to video quality or file formats. I'll be streaming a video and the video will just randomly stop, and because its streaming I can't resume at the same place I have to start again.
I have not yet managed to complete a single video without it being exited at a random interval. Its not always the same place, sometimes I'll get 20minutes in, other times 10minutes of the same video file.
I'm using iSedora media center to stream across my internal LAN. I've been using this program to stream to my TV without issues for over a year.
At the moment it looks like WiFi could be the culprit however
a) I've used WiFi Analyzer to find an unused channel for my router
b) I've tested the stream right next to my router at about -20dBm to -30dBm
c) I have tried a factory reset
d) I have tried 8dBi antenna and they just made my signal worse
Any assistance here would be amazing
Thanks
FMM
Have you tried UpnPlay?
Just so you can rule out the client.
i use emitapp for streaming - works perfectly over lan and at work.
it does allow resuming from a specific point in the video as well.

[Q] Streaming television to android device via WiFi?

Would it be possible to stream my satellite television signal to an android device? The outputs on the satellite decoder are just the normal A/V variety, and I would like to be able to stream the video and audio to an android device (probably an android mini PC most of the time, but also a tablet occasionally) over my home wifi? What sort of hardware would I need etc?

[Q] Screencast erratic audio problem

Guys,
I have Android L installed and would love to use the screencast function.
Everything is working just fine when I use Youtube or Google Music and connect to my Chomecast. Perfect picture and audio as well from start. Nework is fast to handle for sure.
However, when I try to screencast and play a video from Chrome browser or play a video file from Drive and try to screencast it picture is perfect but audio is totally distorted. When I try the same video on my Nexus it just sounds fine.
I have tried factory resetting Chromecast, no success.
Any idea? Thanks.

[Q] auto play the live network stream

Hello All,
We recently launched a live tv channel on cloud and this is intended for the operators (CATV) and not for users. We gave one OTT (android stb) to the operators through which they can stream the channel and connect it to their network. OTT uses MX player to stream.
The issue is our stream at the server sometimes gets interrupted, or the OTT at the operator end gets power failure etc. In such cases the operator needs to manually go and play the stream.
We have achieved auto start of MX player on reboot of the OTT. but how we can achieve following:
1. the player automatically start streaming the last network stream
2. while streaming if the stream dies out, the player keeps refreshing and wait for the stream to be up and start playing again instead of getting closed.

[Q] audio pass through; compressed formats

Audio pass-through is a very important feature on Android media boxes with HDMI and SPDIF ports. As I understand it, this mode is currently supported but only when H/W mode is selected and the software audio decoding option is deselected. I noticed that this somehow causes the flag AUDIO_OUTPUT_FLAG_DIRECT to be set in AudioTrack.cpp which is a very helpful signal to the downstream audio handlers. Kodi also has limited support for audio pass-through, but unfortunately no such signal that I could detect. The SPMC version of Kodi uses the AUDIO_STREAM_VOICE_CALL hack to signal pass-through mode but this can cause problems on boxes that also need to support applications such as Skype.
If I understand everything correctly, then perhaps it would be easy to add an audio pass-through option when using the H/W+ or S/W video decoding modes. The H/W mode may not work with all video streams, and even when it does, some features, such as screen resizing, and screen capturing may be lost.
Yes, what ed35bc wrote is also important for me
