Hello , I just purchased the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113 yesterday to replace an Acer Iconia A100 with a dead EMMC, 4.0.4 ICS is okay but I'm wanting to flash the P3113XARCLI jellybean leak from SamMobile , I'm already on stock UEBLH2 like needed for the leak, not rooted, still running stock recovery. When i get to recovery, i select the zip from my SD, as the zip for the leak is verified in recovery, i hit this error " E: error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7) , I'm currently downloading the stock firmware, I'm thinking of trying to reflash the stock clean via Odin and then try the leak again, or maybe download the leak OTA zip again, anyone have any suggestions or ideas that might solve the issue? Thanks!
Flashed stock firmware through Odin 3 1.35, Wiped Data and cache in stock recovery, tried to update again, seems to be working, will post again with end result

Why are you calling these releases "leaks" these are official 4.1.1 OTA and why are you trying to install an older version of 4.1.1 for p3113
The latest OTA is here

i've seen a small handful of people using that newer 4.1.1 who haven't gotton past their bootscreens, they're official yes but Samsung hasn't put out a full complete 4.1.1 update as far as i know, these are only test versions
Yes, we don't have an official, but I am on the 3110 UK version, and have had no issues.

Can't seem to get it to properly connect to my wifi network on the first OTA for some reason

So i can flash the UK version via Odin and all should be good? and if i ever need to downgrade i can just revert everything just as i have to test the OTA with the stock P3113 firmware right?
Yes, flash thru Odin, use cf root to root, then flash clockworkmod thru odin. At that point, make a backup. At that point, you can flash any mods, or other ROMs, and return to the stock jellybean experience. Yes, I haven't had any problems with the ir blaster, or any problem. If you don't like it, Odin back to ICS, or a custom ROM thru CWM. The main point is to read, reread, research, and ask questions. As long as you do your homework, you will have no problems.

I used the 1-click method to root my phone. When I do the software update it goes as far as downloading the update, then my phone reboots. And for some reason when it reboots it reboots into recovery. Then I reboot my phone and when it loads it says update failed. The update is 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 I'm assuming. The reason I make this assumption is just because my wife and I got the same phone on the same day and hers updated and mine didn't. I rooted, she didn't. I read something about having to have all your original apps installed when I did a search, but I have removed any of the bloatware or any other apps as of yet. Thanks for the help in advance!
To Take the OTA you need Stock recovery, not CWM there is a thread with the Stock recovery you can flash in Odin to get the OTA to install
Check out this link to another post on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360943&highlight=stock+recovery+odin
this should be what you need to take the 2.3.6 OTA (which really isn't all that worth it, so if you're happy with 2.3.5 i would stay there until an ICS OTA comes)
Would a factory reset go back to stock recovery?

No a Factory reset just resets the user data not the recovery or system information

My understanding was that 2.3.6 implemented a new modem that improved the performance of the phone. I personally have great service compared to my Tmobile that I just bought out my contact on. Just wondering how much better that update would make my phone.

If your rooted you can just flash the 2.3.6 radio in cwm... Or even a 2.3.6 ROM (MHX superlite 3.1 final was my GB ROM of choice)
There is a radio thread and also info in the all in one sticky thread.

I am on stock(P3113 rooted+cwm)...I am getting an OTA for 4.0.4 but for that i'll need to go back to stock recovery...Should i :
1) Flash stock rom n then take the OTA
2) Flash 4.0.4 through odin [ http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P3113 ]
3) Flash stock recovery n then take the ODA.
I would like to go with option 3 cuz it will require the min. amount of downloading....But for that i need stock recovery...So what should i do n is there any other way??
On my 5113 the only thing that worked for me was to flash with Kies and then reroot. It was well worth it though.
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to get just the recovery and I think (not sure) that only Odin can unlock that partition anyway. There are some stock images in Odin format and I have been meaning to pick through them to see if I can find the stock recovery image, but since no one has posted such, I am guessing you can't.

But the problem is that i can't update vie kies...It keeps on disconnecting, so OTA is my only option n for that i need to get rid of CWM.
I am curious too, I rooted using this method, and have CWM installed.

I guess I can just flash the stock image and loose root, upgrade, then reroot. Hopefully, someone will drop a stock, rooted and deodexed 4..0.4 rom for the P3113.
Also, I have not used Kies before, so I guess I don't even know how to flash the stock image for this tablet. Can anyone help with that?

To flash stock you'll have to use the stock rom n flash using odin,,, But i was hoping that there is way around it...
I've updated today my rooted P3113 to 4.0.4
This is the only way to upgrade rooted P3113 (with CWM), because the samsung official upgrade scenario doesnt works on CWM
1. Backup with Titanium
2. Wipe/factory reset with CWM
3. Download and unzip stock 4.0.4 firmware from here, then flash it with odin (PDA button)
4. Configure your device (now it's clean stock apps and stock recovery)
5. Restore your apps with Titanium
6. Install CWM and root - If you wish so (just as you installed on 4.0.3)

I would imagine this is just like the 5113. If you use Keis instead of the OTA update it works. Apparently Keis uses the USB instead of the recovery. However, a lot of people are having trouble getting Keis to stay connected. But I used it with no problems. Just reflashed CWM and rerooted as you say, but did not have to reflash to stock.
Just updated manually from 4.0.3 + Rooted + CWM 5.5.0.4 (GT3113)
Sorry too young to post links
Went very simple (10 minutes)
Returned to Stock Recovery: h://theunlockr.com/2012/06/02/get-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-7-gtp3113-back-stock
REBOOTED
Applied Update (not 4.0.4, not sure what it was)
Downloaded 4.0.4 from Samsung directly: h://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P3113
Unzipped to Desktop
Updated to 4.0.4 using ODIN (PDA)
REBOOTED
System applied update on startup
Asked me to select language, date, Goodle backup, etc
It loaded all existing Apps, Wi-Fi, etc automatically no TiRestore needed
Up and running, seems faster- smoother, new keyboard (old keyboard was good, this one is as good better for big fingers?)

I downloaded the file from the Samsung site, launched Odin and updated. It kept all my apps and settings since I did not wipe. Flashed recovery, then rerooted, did not take long. If it gets yucky, I will do a factory reset.
Very helpful!
Very helpful guide.
On a semi-related note, I really like 4.0.4 it's certainly an improvement over the last and seems to have cured the stupid interface lag.
Ok flashed mine using mobile odin...no need to wipe data..

Your steps are so easy. I wish I could follow you on this, but I can't figure out how to revert back to stock recovery only. The theunlockr.com link shows how to completely revert the entire firmware. How do you revert recovery ONLY?
Hasn't someone made a .zip file that can be flashed with CWM? Why is it different than flashing a 3rd party rom?
i see this firmware in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074458

no, my question is if I need to install the recovery or I can use the recovery that brings the tablet without root or other recovery
if you're installingnstock Samsung firmware, or those leaked OTAs, you only need stock recovery, i'd advise you to odin flash the UK 4.1.1 version for the 3110 instead, those OTAs are unstable and odd, the first 4.1.1 ota boots and gives wifi and autobrightness issues, the latest 4.1.1 ota does not go past the tab 2 bootscreen, I'm running the uk 4.1.1 for the 3110 from Sammobile on my P3113, overall, everything works smooth.

those are test firmwares, and if arent sure how to install them then perhaps you shouldnt. if there is a problem you are gonna have a hard time fixing it.
RESOLVED: the ODIN flash did work once i got the right tar file.
I tried flashing one of those firmwares for 4.1.1 which was only 357 MB and it got stuck at the boot screen, It seems I had bad instructions I followed with a link to an incomplete flash file, perhaps part 1 of a 2 part download. When it flashed it last said it was updating remaining files and then went back to the recovery, When I rebooted it stuck at the recovery even after a data wipe. I tried flashing a 3113 rooted stock rom and it gives me an E:signature verification failed. I used odin to flash the 4.04 stock rom which passes, but it still freezes at the boot screen even after a data wipe. Should I try flashing CWM recovery through odin to get around the signature verification or does someone know another procedure that has worked to get back to stock 4.04 from this condition. I have seen this mentioned a couple of times in the development threads with users indicating that they got back to stock, but without details of exactly how.
The firmware I apparently partially flashed was GT-P3113_P3113UECLI4-OTA-P3113UEBLH2_XAR_374372839
Also I was not able to see if usb debugging was enabled since I could not do anything but recovery or download modes on the tablet.

Well the only work around I can see is to wipe the tablet, install the stock ROM then let it grab the update from Samsung. I've tried just flashing back to the stock N8013 ROM but downgrading from JB to ICS it hits the boot cycle and just hangs.
I believe you need to just flash the recovery from the 8013 and you should be able to flash the ROM. Someone would need to verify though.

I would also really appreciate if anyone could explain a way to get the N8013 4.1.2 file on a UK N8010.
I tried to flash the new US N8013 4.1.2 file (KIES_HOME_N8013UEUCMA3_N8013XARCMA3_813049_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5) to my UK N8010, but the flash failed. I was previously on the German 4.1.1 version.

That's completely unmodified. (I tried just installing it in CWM. Think I probably bricked doing something silly...)
I pulled this as well, but I'm curious if you had to flash back to stock firmware and recovery to get it. I tried using a rooted stock rom and the software update screen would give me a "modified devices don't get updates" message. I actually had to have stock recovery and system installed so that it would download. Did you have to do the same thing?

I have a modified boot.img- perhaps that blocks the ota?
My device is rooted.

What can I do to update OTA?
I played around with this a while ago (my flash counter is at 29 last time I checked).
I think you have a few options:
1) maybe unroot and that might remove the modified status
2) use heimdall or odin to flash back to unrooted stock, including stock recovery and boot.img
3) flash one of the rooted JB roms, either stock, cyanogen, or our very own Teamapexq rom
4) download the OTA or the JB rom from the web and repackage it yourself to a flashable zip.
Option 1 might not work. Option 2-4 will work, 4 would be the most fun.

OMG, I would like to do it with no hassle.

Option 2 would probably be the most straightforward. Essentially, you are unrooting. I just remembered, Samsung has Kies which might restore it to stock. You can download it from their website.

Anyway, I used the directions here:

Now it all completed successfully, and the phone is chilling at the SAMSUNG screen trying to boot. Not sure what to do at this point. Its been sitting there for a good 5 minutes.
Please help!!
