[Q] Help with a Freelande PH20 / MAPAN MX713 - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello, i know it's not great one of my 1° post be a cry for help, but i'm having way more trouble then i should with my father's PD20
well... lets me start, i was trying to root the tablet because... because i wanted, wen i was using Z4root (the last one) my tablet just reset after some little time, wen he boot again i notice the all my apps are gone and the tablet was on Chinese (or Korean) i tried save some new apps on the internal memory and the system just said the my tabled was full ( but wasnt).
I did a quick search on this forum and diagnosed as a rom problem, nothing rly serious if wasn't for the fact its almost impossible (at least for me) find the original room.
another search on the forum and i saw some people with a similar problem but different tablet model, they solve their problems installing a rom from a similar model. I tried several generic/similar roms and kinda worked, some of they are way to slow, another ones had some problems with the touch, but on my 14-16 attempt i installed this rom "MaPan_MX713_Android_4.0.4os_Firmware_20121028J" for MAPAN MX713 and the system worked a little bit slow and with a huge discrepancy on the touchscreen, but my problem was for some reason that uso modified my boot system not allowing anymore the backup mode, just that screen who has no options and that kinda broke my legs
i guess i will need a clockwork for one MAPAN MX713 to be able to keep trying find the rom but im almost lost, any help will be appreciated
if i buy another one (same model) can i recovery this one ??

Bumb/Update
I menage to install adb tolls and tried a couble recovery.img from clockworkMoD, no luck fom me
if anyone knows who i could install a decent Recovery mode i will be gratefull

if i buy another one (same model) can i recovery this one ?

identify problem?

i have a samsung captivate i897.
i bought it sim free and unlocked from the states but i'm in the UK.
i recieved it already rooted running cyanogen mod and miui and have had it for 8 months. its worked perfectly the whole time.
until the past month i'd say its been radomly forcing closs on nearly everything.
i havent installed any new software or roms or anything or even dl any new apps so i cant figure out what would be causing the problem.
i tried checking for updateds on the muiu and it runs android 2.3.7
i'm not a tech person at all so i spoke to one of the tech guys at my local phone shop and he said i should try a factory reset.
so i guess i'm asking a few questions here:
1) does anyone have any idea what might be up with my phone?
2) can someone elplain to me the easiest/safest way to fix it?
please bear it mind i am a total noob at this tech stuff. i'll try to understand and cooperate as much as i can with those so kind to help me, but i'd really appreciate if people would help/point me in the right direction instead of giving me a short blunt answer which assumes i know all this tech stuff then locking my thread.
If it's already rooted & running a custom ROM, then you probably already have a custom recovery installed (probably clockworkmod). 1st thing would be to boot into recovery & do a backup. Then, you can try flashing any ROMs you want / factory reset / whatever, and restore your backup if you don't like the results.

how do i know if i have clockwork mod installed (i've never seen it before, but then again if its on the boot menu where i've not been before)
for booting into recovery i just long press the power button (at least it works like this on my phone) > reboot > recovery > ok
then what should happen after i press "ok" ?
also just to state (if it helps) the options i get for rebooting are: normal, hot boot, bootloader & recovery.
i dont really feel confident to be flashing roms (mainly because i dont really know how/which are stable etc) on the other hand i do need to fix it. guess i'd like to try the factory reset first though..... under the assumption its slightly easier.
i thought factory reset would restore the phone back to stock settings? but the guy in the phone shop said it wouldnt? (not sure how reliable he is ;] )
found this thread here which seems kinda similar
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264177&page=3
have tried uninstalling some apps to see if it helps.
the thing is with the problem is seems to occur randomly. the phone will work like perfect again for a few days then boom starts forcing close yet again.
only time will tell.

[Q] Help Needed with Thunderbird I5S Replica

Hi There
I have recently purchased a Thunderbird i5S Golden. According to the supplier website it is the following spec;
MTK6572 Dual Core CPU 1.3Ghz*2
1GB RAM, 8GB Rom
4.2.2 OS with IOS7 Theme Pack (Loader, icons etc)
I had a couple of issues when I received it, base language installed as Chinese, although I could select UK English, the base language stayed as Chinese.
Google PlayStore wasn't installed from factory (had about 3 versions of the Chinese app markets) Had MAJOR issues trying to get this working. Well to be honest, it has never worked. GPS also doesn't seem to work.
Anyway, rooted the phone using the one button root method, cant remember the software but was pretty simple
After farting around for another couple of hours, removing some of the Chinese bloatware, found that I still couldn't use the phone as I wished (still in Chinese, still with crap app markets etc) Google Play installed but would never download anything (would say it was installing but never would)
After using rootexplorer, I found the SYSTEMfolder called APP_UK. This contained all of the UK app's and Keyboard layouts etc. Doing without thinking I renamed the old APP folder and replaced with the APP_UK, but this doesn't contain ANY of the startup procedures, files etc,
Phone now stuck on the boot screen, can get into the Chinese factory mode and factory reset but it doesn't help, it comes up with a green android man with his chest open and a red exclaimation mark (my guess is that it cant find any of the boot up files) Can also load up a menu (although upside down) which advises :> Normal Boot :> Fast Boot or :>Recovery (Tried all three)
So to the questions:
Firstly does anyone have any ideas on how I can get onto the phone drive without it booting correctly (using COM ports or something). Ive tried using various software to get onto the phone but without it booting it cannot find the drives. (Using Win7 x64) Various drivers etc.
Secondly: Can anyone suggest an ios7 ROM for the MTK6572 in UK English, Rooted, with Google Play Store.
Tried contacting the suppliers but they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Ive requested a UK ROM from them so will see if they do come back with anything.
Any help greatly appreciated. Im new to the android flash and root world so be gentle
Thanks
Jamie

huawei y300-000 rom problems

hi,
firstly i'm unsure where to put this, it's not actually a question, but it may be seen as one.. so, if you prefered it in the Q&A then i'm sorry for getting it wrong.
i've got a lot of issues with the basic version of the software of my phone (huawei ascend y300-0000 is what is written on it, i think it's the chinese version, most of the base apps are chinese), till it died on me and even the recovery wouldn't solve anything, so i had to root, unlock bootloader, install an alternate recovery and finally put some mod roms;
well, i was wrong, since 3 days i can't use my phone, since apparently every rom is for "0100" version and on my phone some roms wouldn't start at all (it shows the first animation continuosly), while others works in everything but the local netwrok ! it totally don't want to recognize my sim (after the first time it also says to put in a sim, while mine is already in);
i also have been trying to install the custom chinese rom MIUI v5, but apparently this isn't booting at all, and forcing upgrade with a retail of B197 gives error while installing.
all this being said, could someone help me to:
if possible, modify a custom rom that is lighter and also has nice options like bluethoot tethering, if it's not.. find something that actually works on this version of the phone,
i'm really at a loss of what to do, i even have downloadeded this shuame program, but it's all in chinese and i'm trying to not break completely my phone
Thanks for your time
i found some chinese roms, just one seems to be working when flashed tho, and in this one the network don't seem to be working either (the phone searchs for a UIM card), is there any way to make it work? i tried flashing some european baseband, but it doesn't seem like it changed anything

[Resolved] [Q] Elephone P6000 unresponsive screen after Chinese fix

Hello all,
I would like to ask a question about a problem I encountered with my Elephone P6000. I’ve been reading and searching for similar situations and solutions for 3 straight days now, and my motivation as dropped to a minimum.
This week I got the P6000 from a friend, and it was running on the 8.3 stock-ROM from 26-12-2014. I read about a screen lag problem, and went on trying to fix it. I tried several methods, a app made by lidmiloff, a .bat file by the1024 (and zOrgent? Not sure..) and finally a Russian/Chinese application provided on 4PDA.
This last method had an effect, although it was not the effect I was expecting. When I tried to operate my phone after the application was done, the touchscreen had become unresponsive to my touches. The volume buttons, and power button still work and I can boot the phone as it would normally.
I’ve tried to flash several ROMs (using SP Flash tool) to repair the touchscreen: a stock-rom provided by Elephone, a stock-ROM provided by s7yler (from needrom) and a backup (20141228) rom provided by (the1024). Unfortunately, flashing another ROM does not fix the problem and I’m still stuck with an unresponsive touchscreen.
The plan I wanted to try next was to flash the 8.4 ROM from 31-01-2015 and after that try the .bat file by the1024 again. However, I’m not really sure anymore if it would help and if I can break the phone any more than that it already is. It seems that flashing a new ROM with SP Flash tool does not affect the change that was made by the Chinese application. Does anybody know why this is the case?
It would be great if you guys could give me your two cents on my problem. I’m stuck, and to be honest getting quite insecure about the whole thing.
Kind regards,
Tom
PS: I've asked this question in multiple (relevant) threads. I hope this is not a problem, please let me know if it is!

[Completed] [Q] thl 5000 flashed a rom and touch screen doesnt work

Hello there
I have a thl 5000 and recently i tried to change to a custom rom. I wiped data, erased dalvic and nvram but in the end the rom couldnt install so I could no longer open my phone (since everything was deleted)
After that I downloaded the stock rom and flashed it in my mobile. It booted fine but since then my touch screen is ruined... I touch it and it reads the touch half screen away making it almost imposible to navigate through the phone.
I've tried a lot of things and im running out of ideas so anything would be welcome
Ps. i made a backup for my rom and nvram with mtkdroid but it doesnt work when i try to restore it. And also seems i cant root my phone something must be corupted in the su binaries... (wierd since I wiped everything)
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately I can't find anything specifically about the problem you describe, but take a look at this thread:
THL 5000 OctaCore MTK6592T,ROOT,RECOVERY.
I'd suggest you ask your question there so it reaches other people who are experienced with your device.
Thread closed, thanks.
