[Q] Help Needed with Thunderbird I5S Replica - General Questions and Answers

Hi There
I have recently purchased a Thunderbird i5S Golden. According to the supplier website it is the following spec;
MTK6572 Dual Core CPU 1.3Ghz*2
1GB RAM, 8GB Rom
4.2.2 OS with IOS7 Theme Pack (Loader, icons etc)
I had a couple of issues when I received it, base language installed as Chinese, although I could select UK English, the base language stayed as Chinese.
Google PlayStore wasn't installed from factory (had about 3 versions of the Chinese app markets) Had MAJOR issues trying to get this working. Well to be honest, it has never worked. GPS also doesn't seem to work.
Anyway, rooted the phone using the one button root method, cant remember the software but was pretty simple
After farting around for another couple of hours, removing some of the Chinese bloatware, found that I still couldn't use the phone as I wished (still in Chinese, still with crap app markets etc) Google Play installed but would never download anything (would say it was installing but never would)
After using rootexplorer, I found the SYSTEMfolder called APP_UK. This contained all of the UK app's and Keyboard layouts etc. Doing without thinking I renamed the old APP folder and replaced with the APP_UK, but this doesn't contain ANY of the startup procedures, files etc,
Phone now stuck on the boot screen, can get into the Chinese factory mode and factory reset but it doesn't help, it comes up with a green android man with his chest open and a red exclaimation mark (my guess is that it cant find any of the boot up files) Can also load up a menu (although upside down) which advises :> Normal Boot :> Fast Boot or :>Recovery (Tried all three)
So to the questions:
Firstly does anyone have any ideas on how I can get onto the phone drive without it booting correctly (using COM ports or something). Ive tried using various software to get onto the phone but without it booting it cannot find the drives. (Using Win7 x64) Various drivers etc.
Secondly: Can anyone suggest an ios7 ROM for the MTK6572 in UK English, Rooted, with Google Play Store.
Tried contacting the suppliers but they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Ive requested a UK ROM from them so will see if they do come back with anything.
Any help greatly appreciated. Im new to the android flash and root world so be gentle
Thanks
Jamie

[Q] Help with a Freelande PH20 / MAPAN MX713

Hello, i know it's not great one of my 1° post be a cry for help, but i'm having way more trouble then i should with my father's PD20
well... lets me start, i was trying to root the tablet because... because i wanted, wen i was using Z4root (the last one) my tablet just reset after some little time, wen he boot again i notice the all my apps are gone and the tablet was on Chinese (or Korean) i tried save some new apps on the internal memory and the system just said the my tabled was full ( but wasnt).
I did a quick search on this forum and diagnosed as a rom problem, nothing rly serious if wasn't for the fact its almost impossible (at least for me) find the original room.
another search on the forum and i saw some people with a similar problem but different tablet model, they solve their problems installing a rom from a similar model. I tried several generic/similar roms and kinda worked, some of they are way to slow, another ones had some problems with the touch, but on my 14-16 attempt i installed this rom "MaPan_MX713_Android_4.0.4os_Firmware_20121028J" for MAPAN MX713 and the system worked a little bit slow and with a huge discrepancy on the touchscreen, but my problem was for some reason that uso modified my boot system not allowing anymore the backup mode, just that screen who has no options and that kinda broke my legs
i guess i will need a clockwork for one MAPAN MX713 to be able to keep trying find the rom but im almost lost, any help will be appreciated
if i buy another one (same model) can i recovery this one ??
Bumb/Update
I menage to install adb tolls and tried a couble recovery.img from clockworkMoD, no luck fom me
if anyone knows who i could install a decent Recovery mode i will be gratefull
if i buy another one (same model) can i recovery this one ?

huawei y300-000 rom problems

hi,
firstly i'm unsure where to put this, it's not actually a question, but it may be seen as one.. so, if you prefered it in the Q&A then i'm sorry for getting it wrong.
i've got a lot of issues with the basic version of the software of my phone (huawei ascend y300-0000 is what is written on it, i think it's the chinese version, most of the base apps are chinese), till it died on me and even the recovery wouldn't solve anything, so i had to root, unlock bootloader, install an alternate recovery and finally put some mod roms;
well, i was wrong, since 3 days i can't use my phone, since apparently every rom is for "0100" version and on my phone some roms wouldn't start at all (it shows the first animation continuosly), while others works in everything but the local netwrok ! it totally don't want to recognize my sim (after the first time it also says to put in a sim, while mine is already in);
i also have been trying to install the custom chinese rom MIUI v5, but apparently this isn't booting at all, and forcing upgrade with a retail of B197 gives error while installing.
all this being said, could someone help me to:
if possible, modify a custom rom that is lighter and also has nice options like bluethoot tethering, if it's not.. find something that actually works on this version of the phone,
i'm really at a loss of what to do, i even have downloadeded this shuame program, but it's all in chinese and i'm trying to not break completely my phone
Thanks for your time
i found some chinese roms, just one seems to be working when flashed tho, and in this one the network don't seem to be working either (the phone searchs for a UIM card), is there any way to make it work? i tried flashing some european baseband, but it doesn't seem like it changed anything

[Completed] [Q] ROM defaults to wrong country/language

Hello all.
I've searched these forums for a bit now, looking for someone in a similar situation; after around 10 pages of 'wrong country' and a loooot of Googling, I can't seem to identify the issue I'm having.
The problem is as follows: I own a Galaxy Express 2 (a rather unpopular device judging by what I've seen across the Interwebs). It came with a stock 4.2.2 ROM when I bought it some time ago. It was rooted within a couple of days - no problems whatsoever. Then the 4.4.2 update came out and I downloaded and subsequently flashed (via ODIN) the one for Vodafone Spain (as it was the only currently available ROM that was Kit Kat). I had noticed a few problems: certain items like LED flashing as notification in Accesibility settings were missing, others didn't work (Smart stay, tap to answer). Not really a problem, but it did raise a red flag. No other problems with the ROM itself, it was very stable.
Attempting to correct this issue, I had flashed 4.4.2 meant for Vodafone Romania (the carrier for where I live seemed the most obvious choice, I was hoping the aforementioned settings might work). They still did not. A few days ago, I got a rather annoying problem where Play Store would crash every single time it attempted to update any app. Naturally, I googled a few fixes, tried those, nothing worked. I had pondered flashing a recent Google Apps pack (like the ones you'd get when flashing CM), but was unsure if I'd do more damage - figured they might not play well if flashed forcefully over the pre-existing stock apps.
I then flashed CM (the release available for Galaxy Express 2, just out of curiosity, and Google Play worked flawlessly, even when updated to the latest version).
TL;DR: Stock 4.2.2 -> Stock 4.4.2 (Spain) (first language appeared as spanish) -> Stock 4.4.2 (Romania) (first language appeared as croatian) -> CM build currently out for Express 2 -> Emergency recovery via KIES 3 flashed another 4.4.2 it seems (but also loaded in Croatian)
The issues I'm currently having:
1) Ever since the Romania Vodafone 4.4.2 install (that would be the second stock ROM I've flashed), the first language I encounter is Croatian and it installs typical bloatware in another language (which I would also imagine would lead me to download incorrect applications from the Market, so I figure if I fix the phone's localization problem, the market will follow)
2) Ghost tapping on the keyboard (not noticed before, was not present on CM, hence I've ruled out a hardware issue, or on any installation previous to CM)
I have tried various fixes: via CWM recovery, tried wiping data/cache/dalvik, formatting /system and /boot before flashing a 4.4.2 for Romania (still loaded in Croatian), via ODIN. I'm fairly certain there's something residual I've mucked up on my phone, because the device identification when I connect it to my laptop via USB is from the previous install (now it has a different name).
IMEI number is fine (read about potential corruption of EFS). Currently, I was going to attempt flashing the stock ROM (4.2.2) from Sammobile, but after so many attempts (and hairs pulled out), I'm not holding out hope that that will fix it.
CSC is fine (correctly identified as CNX, which is the appropriate code for Vodafone, Romania), as confirmed by connecting to KIES.
Eventually, I would like to have 4.4.2 on it, if at all possible. I have a basic understanding of these things - but I can't understand why the phone would be fooled into thinking it's in another country. My assumption is that such information is stored somewhere that isn't wiped between flashing.
Really clueless at the mo'. I wanna try flashing stock, but I fear doing so will fix nothing, and my last hair will fall out - I feel that the problem would affect all installations.
(I wouldn't mind using CM, but it's a big buggy, and I need stability above all else).
It does in fact seem that my problem lies in the CSC. Samsung Kies, being what it is, seems to have incorrectly indicated where I am.
An appstore app has identified my CSC as being VIP (which is one from Croatia). I will attempt to correct this issue via whatever method I can find, and see what happens.
Update: As it happens, I've successfully flashed stock ROM (4.2.2), corrected CSC (and verified it with root explorer, to confirm it's the right one), flashed 4.4.2, it installed all the proper Vodafone apps (in English).
However the odd ghost tapping problem remains: even when holding my finger on the touchscreen, it behaves as if I were tapped eratically everywhere near the original tapping point.
The device name is still read as incorrect when plugged into USB. I am certain this is software related now, or rather, some freakin' leftovers I can't seem to find and clean.
Hi,
This is from the S4 section, so don't use any files from here, but the advice may help perhaps..

Other than that, I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. It could be hardware if flashing stock firmware didn't help. You can ask about it here if you wish,

Good luck!

Lenovo Vibe X3 Lite K51c78 - rom help

Hi, I got a Lenovo Vibe X3 Lite K51c78, chinese version (its also called X3c78, I think).
I need help how to flash a new rom, Lollipop or Marshmallow, does not really matter.
My device does not seem to be running official stock rom from Lenovo.
App manager is missing in system settings and its a lot of bloatware.
I have found a rom from official VIBEUI web page
VIBEUI_V3.5_1617_5.332.1_ST_K51c78_WC4D630384.zip
But it fails when i flash it in recovery mode.
And I can't find any software to flash VIBEUI rom.
It's incompatible with SP Flash tool, cause it has different scatter file and files such as "system.new.dat" etc.
Please help.
Thank you.
Just replying to bump this up - I recently got my Vibe X3 Lite and am finding heaps on this site about the next model up, the X3, but very little about this one. I can't seem to get Google Now launcher working (it says I need to go to the existing launcher's settings and clear preferences, a button which is greyed out...) and my box arrived with the factory seal broken, so I think it's at least prudent to flash SOMEthing before putting in my real details.
This is a heck of a phone for an amazing price, I'm surprised it's not getting more attention!

That filename looks like the same one I downloaded from http://www.vibeui.com/vibeui/rom3?key=K51c78
And if that's the one you have, it's the one which has worked for me. I just renamed it to update.zip and installed it from Recovery mode. What sort of problem did you have? Did you try downloading it again?
From what I can tell the Lenovo launcher lacks an app drawer, but you can add an "All Apps" widget to your home screen. Also, most manufacturers install bloatware (they prefer to think of it as value-added experiences) and you usually can't remove them without gaining root access.
I tried replacing the launcher with Google Now (simply wouldn't work) and with Nova Launcher (worked but very crashy, widgets refused to be placed, some features didn't work) so I'm back on the Lenovo launcher. Will at some point try rooting and getting rid of the extra stuff...

Do you have google services? I update mine from vibeui_v2.9_1608_5.1112.1_st_k51c78 (with preinstall google services) to the same rom you use using lenovo recovery and now my google services is gone..how to update without losing the google services?
Hey guys,
I also had the same problem with having no Google services. I downloaden a gapp app from internet and after a moment I got my Google apps and service Back. Maybe this could Help.
Hello everyone, Luckily or unluckily i bought this device few days ago. I have same problems "Chinese recovery" and "cant find anyway to root" this device. Will someone please help?
Hi I just got myself a 2nd hand Lenovo Vibe X3 Lite (K51C78), was happily flashing away with SPMultiPortFlashTool (SP Flash Tool doesn't work). After few flashing, suddenly when I try to connect the phone for another round of flashing, the phone suddenly cannot stay connected. Meaning in the device manager, I see Mediatek Preloader VCOM USB (Android) appear and disappear (connect and disconnect) many times. It cannot stay connected even though I already press Start in SPMultiPortFlashTool. It downloads FOR A WHILE then because it disconnects around 2-3 seconds after, the flashing failed.
Did I just hard brick my phone? Seems I cannot recover with attempts until now
I need the phone to stay connected. What actually caused this connect and disconnect issue?

(4.1.2)Phone Stuck On Loading Screen(Google One Time Init Problem)

This is my first post, and I am totally new to xda, so forgive me for posting this type of ques in the general section (If it is a mistake.)
Ik it's weird to be using android 4.1.2 in 2020, but apparently, I had to. And the phone I had was.....tbh not known by anyone. it is a Huawei Ascend G520 (idk if anyone of u ever heard of it). It does not have any support anywhere, not even a stock rom. (There are stock and custom roms for a MTK Version of this phone, But i have one with a Snap 200, apparently. Weird.) So, I manually installed Gapps in this, and for some reason, i had to reset the phone. And after resetting, I was welcomed with a google Welcome screen. (Normal if u reset a phone after installing gapps). So, i selected the language, and waited for it to load. Things were going well, until....the setup wizard crashed. And now, I have no other way to access the phone, not even by adb, as usb debugging is disabled by default. So, WHAT DO I DO NOW? I will be grateful if somebody comes up with an answer.
