Hello, just bought a T mobile Sensation 4G from ebay, it came SIM unlocked.
I really need this phone to stay unlocked, so my question is, is it safe to perform a factory reset without losing my unlock? Is there even anything that can possibly remove my unlock? such as rooting and installing custom roms.
Any answers are highly appreciated.
Sim unlock has nothing to do with rom or factory reset so you should be good
Hi all,
I unlocked the phone already. Now i would like to do a factory reset. Do i need to root and unlock it again? Or my phone already unlock after a factory reset?
I don't have another sim card to try so i ask the question.
Thanks
after odin u will have to root..but unlock is permanently...also to check if your phone is unlocked without putting sim card simply dial *#7465625# it should bring list of things and if ur phone is unlocked then for network lock it should say OFF....btw when you do odin to stock make sure u take out ur sim card and micro sd

I purchased a Factory Unlocked G-920i (in US) and want to use it in Europe. Is it correct that I just need to make a 5 minute call in US with a US SIM card and it will be region unlocked permenantly? Will the phone "relock" if I do a factory reset or install a new ROM? If so, is there any way around this?
Thanks!
I am currently switching our Cricket phones over to Tracfone with their BYOP kits. My daughters' phones are both stock and their phones immediately recognized the new sim. (However, their phones are LG Risio)
My phone has AlexOS 5.0, after trying unsuccessfully the first time to get it to recognize Tracfone's sim, I did factory reset from TWRP. Still no luck.
Do I need to flash back to stock? If so where can I get it?
Also, if stock is currently only on 5.x can that even be flashed over 6.x (downgraded)?
Thanks
ETA - Checked sim card in other phone and it is fine. So it's definitely my phone.
Looks like maybe Mobile Upgrade Q is the answer? Would that make me lose TWRP?
If you update using Mobile Upgrade, you'll lose root, TWRP, and go back to stock.
Does the Idol 3 need to be network unlocked in order to work with Tracfone?
I think so, we have the unlock code directly from Cricket. The problem is that the phone simply says "No Sim" with the Tracfone sim, the others phones immediately asked for an unlock code after switching sims.
Try a different sim card in the phone to see if the phone prompt's for the unlock code? If not prompted, the phone may have to be flashed back to stock.
