Hi all,
I unlocked the phone already. Now i would like to do a factory reset. Do i need to root and unlock it again? Or my phone already unlock after a factory reset?
I don't have another sim card to try so i ask the question.
Thanks
after odin u will have to root..but unlock is permanently...also to check if your phone is unlocked without putting sim card simply dial *#7465625# it should bring list of things and if ur phone is unlocked then for network lock it should say OFF....btw when you do odin to stock make sure u take out ur sim card and micro sd

I got a unlock code for my t mobile my touch 3G so I can use another carrier. When I tried to unlock it would not even show me the unlock code screen. I did a factory reset. did not help. I took battery out, out back in and restarted. first with no sim/ next with sim that I got with new carrier. Screen that should come up to unlock sim WILL NOT appear. Can someone please help me unlock sim on my phone? Thanks in advance.
Ok so i tried the unlocking method 1 for my sensation and found my 8 digit unlocking code, however when i put in any other sim card rather than the one the phone is locked to is says no sim card in phone so i have no way of inputing the unlock code.
Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance
i think it states in the unlock thread that it wont work with ALL sensations
Thanks for the reply, yes for some people method 1 just shows a date, but mine gave me the 8 digit unlock code.
The problem is the phone is locked to Meteor but when i insert any other sim then a Meteor one it says no sim card in phone, it should ask to enter the 8 digit network unlock code which it doesn't because its not recognising the sim card for some reason.
mine too, not detect the sim card..
Did you solved the problem?
regards

Did you put the code in with the meteor sim inserted?
you could always just flash another ROM and that should fix the issue, I know it's a bit drastic but if you really want to use another carrier...

Sorry for only replying now, still not resolved, how would i put the code in with the meteor sim in it?
Ive already tried changing the rom and tried the method 2 unlock but it still won't recognise any other sims apart from meteor ones.
I switched my Infuse over to MIUI from stock, first time ever trying to flash a rom, got it all done, put in my pin to unlock my sim card and it won't go past the unlocking sim screen it just sits there won't let me do anything, i take the sim out and phone works perfectly just can't text or anything.....any ideas how to fix it?

you have a pin to unlock your sim? sounds like a carrier thing...should still see and id your phone...try a new sim card...
My brother sold my mum his old phone and used factory reset, forgetting that he installed where's my droid, it was locked. He hoped that flashing (only updated so far to ICS), would unlock the device.
Unfortunately it did not. And I believe I need to be able to access the device to root it, with the method I'm following.
Is anybody familiar with where's my droid and whether the locking is permanent? Does the control panel (if there is one? for WMD) allow you to manage devices like Google's device manager?
This is really stressful, I am at a loss with what can be done.
Oh wow, I feel like a right sod.
Apparently you can't unlock this device without a sim card, after a factory reset. Once a sim card was inserted, it just worked.

i feel you! :crying:
I found a j700t1 a little while ago. I noticed that there's no SIM card in it so I don't know what to do with it. I have a couple old MetroPCS sims from older phones but I doubt that would help any. I want to unlock it so I can sign it up to Cricket but from what I check there is no way to do it without having the account info and etc.
So does anyone know of a way I can unlock the phone?
I don't think you can unlock it otherwise than using the device unlock, unless your device asks for the network codes.
Perform these steps and check what does it asks you to do:
1. Insert a non-accepted SIM card in the phone (check if your new SIM Card is activated, if not contact your Mobile Operator in order to activate it).
2. Turn ON your phone and wait for it to load
3. Read the message displayed
Mod Edit
Also, check your device IMEI on the T-mobile db to see if there are any issues with it
