Im not to bothered about cost, but im looking around £400-500 ish mark, and i defo want a quad core, "i play Games alot"
also what about the overheating on tablets?, anyone run into this yet?
thanks, amatris

I dont think overheating will be much of a problem on either of those tablets. The nexus 7 and 10 are well built, I can't say anything about the note, but I would go with the google standard.

The Nexus 10 is a dual core but it is a Google standard tablet so it is zippy, the Nexus 7 is a quad core. Both tablets are running hardware from nvidia so they are very good.

I have a galaxy note n7000, so the nexus 7 is kinda out, just for the pure fact that it wil give me 2" on the screen and 2 more cores, thats why i want a quad core, its a shame that asus have not got any 10" quad core tabs :-\ , but ill look at reviews for the nexus 10, but while im doing that , any other tabs out there anyone would recommend ?
Thanks amatris.

you should take a look on the microsoft surface. i have it and it's quite cool. it runs fast and smooth, it has office 2013, so in my personal opinion it is the ideal tablet

Why do you want quad core so bad?....it won't necessarily be better for gaming. GPU is something you should be more interested in. Quad core just eats a ton more battery and isn't going to necessarily give better performance. I say Nexus 10 all the way....plus you get the highest resolution screen on a tablet by a long shot.

Have you looked at the Asus Transformer Infinity? It has a Quad-core NVIDIA Tegra-3 processor @ at 1.7GHZ. There are quite a few ROM's for it too. And an Micro-SD card slot.

The Transformer Infinity (TF700) Vs the nexus 10?
im not sure what one to get but iv got it down to them, im looking for performance, and GPU,
im thinking about the The Transformer Infinity, for the quad core/Gpu, but then the nexus 10 has a faster clock speed, Any info guys? Or maybe the nexus 7?
thanks. amatris

I own an Asus Slider, but I recommend you Nexus 10.

The Nexus 10 wins hands down. Samsung has proven time and again how slow they are to keep up with Google in the Android Race. I would rather put my money with the company responsible for Android that Sammy who trips over their own broken promises. The specs are close, the price is better and the tablet will destroy anything you put in front of it.
Cheers.

Wait for tegra 4, it has a 72 core gpu

id like it to be on verizon w/lte, 7 inch HD screen option, and tegra3.
id settle for the samsung galaxy tab 7.7 but as a google tablet.
I Heard It Will Be Running On MeeGo
That would be nice. I would like it to compete with the kindle fire for price, it would bring android much closer to being the every day device that some people think that the ipad or iphone is. I would love ice cream.
I'm just looking for a wifi version. I don't need another tie to a carrier.
I think there will be a WiFi and a carrier version. Now that Motorola deal is approved the rumors will soon become true.
Here is some leak pictures...

I do hope they bring out a 10 inch as well...
well, it will most likely come with a Tegra 3 cpu and jelly bean. However, I was hoping for an exynos processor though, but since they are going to release several tablets, at least one of them should have it. (optimist)

I highly doubt that Samsung will give away Exynos chips for devices with this price tag. When they'll release a tab with the latest SOC it will cost no less than 600-700, it makes more sense this way IMHO.

New Nexus if your looking for a smaller device. First device to have Jelly Bean 4.1 and you'll get good software updates by going with a Nexus device.
One thing you might consider is the weight and size of the 10.4 inch tablets. I have an Acer, I really like it but it's heavy. Not bad for around the home but I wouldn't want to carry it everywhere. A 7 inch is much nicer for portability.
And as others have said, look at the new Nexus.
if you can find one the HP touchpad is very nice and cyanogenmod has it already hacked with dual booting.
Love it

Yeah the OP couldn't have asked that question at a better time. I agree with the above comment. Nexus 7 runs the faster jellybean 4.1. It'll get updated roms before other manufacturers. U may as well spend a few bucks more than one of those crappy Chinese imitations and get the nexus. It will be far better quality!
Definitely give the Nexus a look! If she will be using it for school then check out the HTC Flyer, it's about the same specs and uses a stylus that has great handwriting features!
Nexus 7 is a pretty sweet deal for the quality of device. Although if she is using it for school, it might be a good idea to look at the ASUS Transformer w/ keyboard for taking notes during class. Also, as was previously mentioned, the HTC Flyer has excellent handwriting support
Oh, And MS Surae RT or Pro is also nice.

I managed to get a try of the nexus and it was really nice and worth every penny, I was almost going to part with my cash to get one and then I got chance to check out the super pad, for the price of £98 I was sceptical it would be any good but it was amazing, although a bit hard to use with finger touch it has no trouble with the pen and also came.with a keyboard and case, I would recommend it to anyone on a budget as long as u don'tmind using a pen

Horn for GN10.1?

Hey all. Like many others, I was excited about todays release of Horn by Phosphor on the Play Market.
After some research, I found out it was only for Tegra 2 and 3s...? But on the Play Store website, it says it is compatible with the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Has anyone purchased it? Does it work?

Considering I managed to get Dark Meadow to work on the Galaxy Note 10.1,, I am somewhat convinced this may be able to work as well. Really not into coughing up $7 to try though... >.>

no it doesn't work. I bought it for my N7 and installed it on the note 10.1 also. It will not work on the note.
Yep, just tried it with Chainfire 3D in various settings. it simply exits out. Fortunately was able to get a refund. Oh well. Too bad. Looks interesting. Too bad I don't know the first thing about hacking up the apk file to make it work in the same way Dark Meadow does. But yeah, Dark Meadow from the market crashes just the same way this does, but the fixed apk works. Meh.

exactly its a dual core go in reality isn't the galaxy faster with its quad Core? I don't care about resoultion I Care about Power and speed which ;g why I bought the galaxy note 2
Well,
more cores doesn't directly means that it has to be faster 100%. Apps need to be coded properly so they are scaling good with more cores, and I think all you will get is just more points in some Benchmarks, thats all.

Actually its dual core is better than a quad-core cause it has a different architecture, for overall smoothness I will suggest you the nexus 10 but for gaming I wouldnt go for this cause the resolution will kill all the performance in games(cause the gpu is not good enough) and expect poor support for tablet on android.
If you really care about gaming I suggest you an iPad 4 as it has great and more optimised games plus it also has the best gpu on any portable devices such tablets and smartphones.

FWIW, the versatility of the TF700 w/ the keyboard dock is very unique. It has replaced my laptop for sure. But, out-of-the-box performance was lacking. However, there are some excellent devs on here for it, which have negated any lag/performance issues.
That said, I was going to wait for the Nexus 10. The TF700 was a gift. I wouldn't trade

If it's a snapdragon and an adreno 320 then it's already failed because there are loads of phones like that.
They surely wouldn't advertise the octa chip if it wasn't going in the GS4. However the A7 mixed with the A15 seems like a little bit of a cheat, I bet it uses the A7 95% of the time or the A15 cores are heavily throttled because it looks like they drain battery like mad, especially in a smart phone.

I'm not gonna bother upgrading, both HTC and Samsung aren't exciting, was just disappointed between them.
Exynos = 3G only
Snapdragon s4 pro = LTE
Only LTE isn't coming out till the end of the year in this region.......... wtf were they thinking?
The HTC One is another no micro sd, no removable battery, ****ty camera, sense mess of a boring phone. People say how good it looks........ looks like any other boring HTC phone to me, just like the GS4 looks like another boring Samsung GS3 variant.
