Problem formatting data - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just flashed liquid smooth and was playing sword and sorcery the tablet locked up and when I rebooted it hangs. Tried formatting data and it can't delete the folder for that game. Is there any way I can format data that will work? Trues re flashing ROM still won't boot

try the following: install X-plore, config, choose superuser rights, go to the folder and delete. Good luck!:good:

Can't even get into android is there a way to do it through adb? Or is there another way like nvflash?
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2

Found and tried the super wipe zip and it does its thing says its OK but when I try to format data it still can't delete that game folder. I'm not sure what else to try
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2

If you try to delete it through adb what's the error you get?
adb shell
cd /to/the/dir/just/above/the/one/you/can't/delete
rm -rf directory
Make sure you're in the right path, the rm -rf command will delete all subdirectories and files without asking you.
Even if it doesn't work, with the exact error message more help can be provided.

What recovery are you using? Use easy flash and go back to stock, then root, and flash TWRP recovery.. TWRP allows you to delete internal memory..

I finally got it took a few tries with easy flasher but its running again. Thanks guys

[ROM] (2/28/13) NANDROID Restore Stock FR 2.22 V10f / GB 2.33 V21e and 2.34 V21y

Stock Nandroid Restores for 2.22 Froyo and 2.33/2.34 GingerBreadfor T-Mobile G2x LG P999 only!
(These Nandroid restores are not rooted and are in complete stock condition.)
Instructions:
1. You must have ROM Manager installed and or ClockworkMod Recovery flashed and an external sdcard installed. Then have the directory and file contents of the "LG-P999-V10f.zip" or "LG-P999-V20e.zip" file extracted to your external SDCard in the /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/LG-P999-V10f directory. If the directory does not exist then create it.
There must be a directory called "LG-P999-V10f" or "LG-P999-V21e" or "LG-P999-V21y" in the "/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup" subdirectory and the files must be directly in that directory, not in another nested directory or Nandroid will not find the files. (Note: If you have any spaces in your directory name. You will get a md5 check some error.)

2. Run ROM Manager and choose Reboot into Recovery or boot phone into clockworkmod recovery.
3. In recovery go down to backup and restore, choose restore.
4. Select LG-P999-V10f or LG-P999-V21e or LG-P999-V21y and choose Yes - Restore.
5. When the restore finishes do not reboot yet. Do a "wipe data/factory reset" from the recovery menu (just to be thorough).
6. When it completes choose Reboot.

By clean do you mean that all of the bloatware and T-Mobile apps are gone?
Not to thread jack but how do you backup stock g2x rom with rom manager?
I tried it and it didn't do anything.

I used Rom Manager to flash Clockwork Mod, then rebooted into recovery and backed it up. You need a micro SD card of course.

Just to clarify a bit. Drop the folder into clockworkmod/backup/ on your SD card. Made no sense when I first looked at the file path.
Tried this as a restore since my connectivity still sucks. I am getting a MD5 miss match. . . . What ever that means, I have no idea.

[Q] Unable to write to "/system" on rooted LC4

I am unable to write to my system partition on LC4. I flashed the superuser zip. Am I missing something?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Yup, if ur using the original UCLA4 leak u need an unsecured kernel, mohan_kr or romracer unsecured
Well, I flashed both and still can't write to system.

Then u need a custom rom

Was unable to get it to work no matter what I did until I flashed the Alien Base and am going from there. Decided to stop wasting time and just use that as a starting block.
Here try this.. It has worked for me many times. Now i dont have any problems with losing root. It seems that when you wipe data/cache/dalvik and install a custom rom, or if you try to flash a custom rom without doing any wipe and get FC or any issues and you boot into CWM and do a wipe of any kind, this inculdes using any type of wiping program.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24740309&postcount=35
I know many people will say that this is not the problem, but i have tried numerous things to keep root with no luck until i did this and it works. This problem keeps popping it ugly head up every now and then (when i try to install a custom rom and have to do a wipe of anykind, but i just do what is in the above post and problem gone. What developers should do is when posting a custom rom, tell the people what version/type of root they used, and what version of busybox they are using, so that everyone can be on the same page and setting as the developers. Just my 2 cents. ( Flame On - if you want to build your post count or have nothing better to do.)

Why can't I edit build.prop or push to /system/app?

Odd.
In the original firmware I was able to edit build.prop to change my dpi to 120 but now I cannot. It won't save any changes. Also, I tried pasting an .apk into my /system/app folder and it blocked me. Then I tried pushing it with adb and it gave me a read-only error.
I know I am rooted - can run Titanium Backup, etc.
Anyone have any idea?

Did you try another root explorer?
Root explorer can be finicky.
Also try clearing it out of super su and and reallowing it. Or wipe app data.
But from my experience with root explorer, I have always hated it!! Try File Manager HD, It is great and has root explorer and system mountable all the time

Downloaded File Manager HD. Tried replacing the Snotes.apk. No dice. All attempts do do anything with that .apk fail. Seems pretty well locked down.
Same thing with build.prop. No changes will save.

You don't have proper root. Reroot and try again. Works like a charm! See below.

Custom Recovery, root.zip, TriangleAway. Although root access is being granted, there may be an issue with permissions on "/system". Tried fixing permissions yet?

I was wondering if you have resolved this issue because im having the same problem now. Do you recall doing anything that may have caused this issue? Everything for me started going heywire once i installed init.d support just a second ago. I Can r/w and r/o in certain parts of the system but i cant paste anything anywhere. I also noticed increase cpu load afterwards. Might i add this is the second time i have had these issues after installing init.d support script. The way i solved this the first time was i had to odin stock firmware and this solved everything. Id like to refrain from doing this again though because ill loose all my stuffs and have to set everything up again.

How did you achieve root? In other threads, problems with write access to /system are reported when a rooted firmware was flashed. Only the method with CWM (install CWM, flash SuperSU) did work.

Oh the first time i rooted with the CWM method. But the second time, i did odin a rooted firmware Now that i think about it, the first time i was able to write to /system but now i can't after a rooted firmware flash. So the init.d script wasnt the problem. I just made an assumption because before, i havent touched anything in /system but when i installed init.d script it was actally the first time i tried to edit /system after the rooted firmware. So yes looks like im going to have to odin a stock non-rooted firmware. Thanks man! Makes alot of since now.
edit: couldn't i just try the cwm method and see it it overwrites, cause the only UEALGB firmware i can find is prerooted. I don't want to switch to UEALH2.

Try Root Explorer(or ES File Explorer) & enable R/W for system files
Check your SuperSU/Superuser app.
See if your access is granted & not denied.
If SuperSU/Superuser asking for update, update it (usually binary update)
If your SuperSU/Superuser is gone, re-install it from Play Store & run it for the first time to update binary.
Retry modifying your system file(s)

That is not correct. wiping data only clears the /data partition. The files that bootstrap leaves are in /system/bin.
To the OP, the correct way to fix this is noted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29423719&postcount=24
You basically have three files that you need to do some work with:
/system/bin/hijack
/system/bin/logwrapper
/system/bin/logwrapper.bin
You need to remove the hijack file (it is a linux link), and also remove the logwrapper file then rename the logwrapper.bin to logwrapper. If you do that and reboot, then you should not have any issues with the OTA installing.
Another link describing this too:

successfuly updated to 4.0,thanks for everyone's help!

My phone was frozen?!?

My HTC VilleC2 was unlocked bootloader, using rom cook JB 4.1 and has flashed SuperSU.zip. But when I use Titanium Backup to uninstall a few apps aren't used in the system such as Google+, Stock, FriendStream, ... it's ok, but when I restarting the phone everything returns to original, the apps wasn't uninstall. But some apps I don't uninstall that only Freeze then when I reboot the phone, it's fine, it's still frozen. I also use Root Explorer to delete some audio files in Notification, Ringtone, Alarm directories... but when I rebooting the phone, everything back to original. Does anyone know what that is the cause? Pls help!!!
P/s: Sorry for my bad english
i remember some talk of deletions not taking, forget where and why. maybe google/search
we have plenty of system memory, just reflash rom with full wipe to include system and don't delete anything
