I am unable to write to my system partition on LC4. I flashed the superuser zip. Am I missing something?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Yup, if ur using the original UCLA4 leak u need an unsecured kernel, mohan_kr or romracer unsecured
Well, I flashed both and still can't write to system.

Then u need a custom rom

What are you using to write to /system ? Root explorer ? Make sure you mount partition as R/W.

Mount as read/write doesn't work.

Was unable to get it to work no matter what I did until I flashed the Alien Base and am going from there. Decided to stop wasting time and just use that as a starting block.
Here try this.. It has worked for me many times. Now i dont have any problems with losing root. It seems that when you wipe data/cache/dalvik and install a custom rom, or if you try to flash a custom rom without doing any wipe and get FC or any issues and you boot into CWM and do a wipe of any kind, this inculdes using any type of wiping program.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24740309&postcount=35
I know many people will say that this is not the problem, but i have tried numerous things to keep root with no luck until i did this and it works. This problem keeps popping it ugly head up every now and then (when i try to install a custom rom and have to do a wipe of anykind, but i just do what is in the above post and problem gone. What developers should do is when posting a custom rom, tell the people what version/type of root they used, and what version of busybox they are using, so that everyone can be on the same page and setting as the developers. Just my 2 cents. ( Flame On - if you want to build your post count or have nothing better to do.)

Is it possible to flash via odin and cwm and some gremlins still lurk. I ask because i've flashed 3 roms today and each one seem to have the same issue with missing market app and such. I don't know if it's a app i'm using, but it seems wierd. I went from Gingerbread (where it started) back to froyo and flashed 2 froyo roms with the issue
Try RaverX3X's KC1. Unfortunately, I don't have the link, so look for it on this forum. That should clear up all gremlins you have.
Yeah i tried that the last time. Possibly I should do my flashing straight from that with the required stuff to get root?

im getting the same issue, I've Odin stock kc1 without root then gained root, installed cwm. Then proceeded to install Audiophile Series: Redux. Still has the same issue. I've even odin gb Kg4, KG5, KH1, & KH2. All gave me the same problem. Everything works perfect up until I shutdown my phone and reboot it. Then I get the grey android icon with these apps:
com.amazon.venezla (Amazon Appstore)
com.monotype.android.font.felbridge (felbridge font)
com.quoord.tapatalkxdapre.activity (XDA premium)
com.touchtype.swiftkey (swiftkey)
net.everythingandroid.smspopup (Smspopup)
org.projectvoodoo.controlapp (Voodoo)
& of course my market app does not work either, even when i install the new market it force closes.
I have also not dont ext4 conversion, so that cant be this issue
Anybody know how to fix this problem?
Try flashing the KC1 Cleanup Rom first. That's at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1129933
Then flash KC1 etc.
i figured it out. Thanks!!

What worked for you? I have the same problem -- lost marketplace app and not sure what to do besides reflashing.
Curious that not everyone else is having this problem as I used the "Step by Step on how to flash any Gingerbread rom". Maybe it's occurring when EXT4 is done.
Lol I'm sitting here and reading all the posts and lolling XD.Just reboot onto recovery and go to mounts there normally should be MUUM but when apps are missing there is MMUM (i think i got that right, the unwanted mount should be data ) after you unmount data reboot and voila none of the apps are missing.

Mounts should always be UMMU. You got it the other way around.

If you just want a Froyo cleanup only flash the KC1 ROM, if you want the GB cleanup, follow all the steps in the guide.

From my experience over the past couple weeks and through dsextons posts, I believe the issue is that your phone was still partially ext-4 when you flashed.
Big problem I just discovered with Titanium Backup that everyone should be aware of... We all know not to backup/restore system settings between Roms...
Well now TB has rolled out a new feature that let's you move the DEX information into the system folder to save space on your data partition. Sounds good, right?
However, if you do so, make sure you don't plan on ever flashing a theme, no-wipe update or any other kind of mod to your phone.
See, with those odex files now in the system partition instead of the dalvik cache, flashable updates that used to wipe the dalvik cache to prevent force closes now can't. Even doing a factory reset won't solve it, because factory reset doesn't wipe /system. You've effectively re-odexed your ROM, preventing ANY changes.
If you've already used this feature, you'll need to either flash a full-wipe ROM to remove the odex files (factory reset isn't enough), or go in and manually delete them through adb shell. If you don't, any time you flash a theme or update to your ROM that doesn't do a full wipe, you'll have force closes.
Good post. (I always avoid odexed roms) . I've used TB for 18mo., and still dont know what 70% of the features do lol. Like market doctor. What is that?

Doesn't that attach your apps to the marketplace, in case you downloaded a file that was not on the market? Im not exactly sure, but that is what my guess would be.

Well if you wipe system, you would have to re-flash because you would have no system.... which is essentially the same as re-flashing a full-wipe Rom...
The point is it breaks modding system files through normal methods (just push/flash without wiping)...

It will flash...but don't expect video (and whatever else it breaks) to work...
It is based off of the latest AT&T leak so it has to have the stock kernel for everything to work.
Yes any Infuse modem will work.
Fonts
Are there any fonts or themes for this rom? I was under the impression it was based on MIUI, and could therefore be customized. the only MIUI element I see is the lockscreen manager. Am i missing something?
Its a work in progress, give it time, Nop seems to have a lot in store for his new Rom!

After flashing, Superuser is disappeared from App drawer and become "unrooted" but superuser is already installed as reported by Market.
Uninstall and reinstalling, no problem but still now shown in App Drawer and reported "unrooted" whenever useing apps which need root access..
Tried re-root with SOC, stuck with the messeage "waiting for device" and would not be continued..
Any idea ??

Odin/heimdall flash a custom kernel. then download the su updater for cwm I think the link is in the open of caty rom or something. reflash the rom (sometimes su gets corrupt and causes all sorts of issues, best to format /system and reinstall the rom for good measure) and flash the su updater immediately after. make sure you do this before a reboot and that voodoo is disabled on your phone. there should be a folder on the root of the SD card named "Voodoo" the V is capital and in that rider should be a text file or folder named "disable-lagfix" if this is not there before you flash the voodoo/cwm enabled kernel and lagfix gets enabled you must disable it and reboot before you flash the rom.
this leak is really secure, you need the custom "insecure" kernel to root it and there seems to be an issue with the build of bionix causing people problems. read the thread but don't get too confused on all the different advice.
also if you can use heimdall I posted a heimdall flashable dump from my phone in the bionic thread. it already has updated superuser and su.

no Voodoo exists but the disable-lagfix file/folder doesn't. it is usually a file but if you create it as a folder it works.
if you have no Voodoo folder you should create it as well as the disable-lagfix to speed up the process and avoid issues. or you can install bionix from my heimdall package. your choice.
I cant tell fron the screenshots....does this rom have the lockscreen that allows you to choose unlock, phone, sms, or camera?

The symptoms can easily be described as lag. After a reboot, I return to square 1 with speed and response. Has this been happening to anyone else?

I notice quite a bit of lag after trying the included adfree apk.
You can try uninstalling adfree from tibu
If that doesn't work, you may have to try to figure out how to fix permission, wipe dalvik and wipe cache.

I just installed this rom ontop of the old V2 bionix iv been running for months, figured it was about time I upgraded lol. Iv been playing with it a bit, and am getting used to the new layout. Maybe this is intentional but where did the battery info and pulldown task bar ontop go? Also some things seem to be not fitted to the screen correctly, like my contacts list and the lock screen is cutoff 3/4 way thru the clock on bottom. Ill keep playing with the settings when I wakeup I just wanted to check I didnt miss something or install it wrong, like a lingering file between the 2 versions caused an incompatibility. Other then that its pretty sexy sofar
Running untouched JB leak 2.
ROM is the stablest, smoothest I've seen, but all 3 root explorers I tried after flashing Mohan's insecure kernel and the SuperSU-0.93-Busybox-1.20.2 zip gave that error when renaming most apks.
The cleanup and unroot procedures in the updated Su app left me wondering too, with no apparent effectiveness.
Is it all that different in JB where I shouldn't expect to debloat this way? ...or did I miss something in the rooting process?

At one point I wiped caches, but that made no change. Data wiping shouldn't be necessary here, so I didn't.

Much appreciated, thank you Vincom. I'm keeping my SR as close to stock JB leak2 as I can.
Everything's already there when I need it and this rom is as stable as the ICS I was using, a dd for on the job that's low maintenance.
I want to take a subtractive more than an additive approach to features, so I'm trying to figure out why, for example, in my rooted app folder only one of the Accuweather... files could be successfully renamed.
My other question is whether a different su app might function more fully in JB, since the 2 commands I mentioned in OP seemed ineffective.

the reason you cant remove or rename something is because it is being used by android, its like trying to delete a file on a computer while its being used by another program.

Thanks again Vincom! I'm not a tibu fan but I spent a few more minutes at [HOWTO] THE ULTIMATE NEWB GUIDE and tried again. For my needs, I
Flashed Chainfire's CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip,
verified root using Root Checker,
quarantined using App Quarantine what I hadn't already disabled using stock methods.
Explorer+ still can't rename the files you said were 'locked', but my phone boots 5 sec. faster.
Hello I need some help here.. I don't have Any idea what to do or how to unlock a Motorola or I would've done it by now... I have a triumph and its losing in phone storage space. I'm not sure? If it q build up cache? Or a build of left over system file. Like data logs or something. Please help!!!

It's most likely the alog files that are eating up all your storage. The only way to fix it is to either root the phone and use a file explorer to delete them or do a factory data reset.
Rooting this phone is incredibly easy and safe as long as you follow directions. There is a decent selection of Roms to choose from with all kinds of added goodies.
If you want to stay stock, there is a script that you can flash that automatically deletes the alog files upon reboot. (requires root though)
If you need any help understanding all of this stuff just ask.
