[Q] Active Apps / Task Manager - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey peeps. Does anyone know why in the stock Android task manager, the 'active applications' show nothing? I know there's active apps showing in 'applications manager'. Wonder if it's a JB bug.
Went from: Stock > OTA LK3 > ODIN no wipe Root LK3 > TWRP > LK3 Bootchain > Triangle Away (didn't unlock bootloader, just root)

ICS Update problem

Hey guys,
Im trying to update to ICS. I checked for the new firmware, it found it. So it started downloading it, then about half way through the download, it failed and said it was reverting back to its original state. So I restarted my device and I am trying to restart the update. When I go into settings and go to the check for updates tab, it says "there is a system firmware update for your device. Please check notifications"
Now when I open up notifications, nothing is there. Is there any way to restart the update? I cant seem to get it to retry.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Go to Settings - Applications - Manage - All - DMClient - Force Close then Clear Data
Next Settings - Applications - Manage - All - CMClient - Force Close then Clear Data
Reboot
Check for update.
Thank you so much!

HOW TO: disable OTA update notification

Requires root
Firstly go into settings > more > about device > software update, and disable the Auto Update option.
Use an auto start or boot manager to disable both processes for "Software Update". You may need select a setting to show system apps on your list.
This should cause the system to not check if there is a downloaded OTA update on your phone.
Note: If you have more than one Software Update app then open the notification in your notification bar and postpone the update further and go back to your boot manager to check which of your Software Update apps were running. This is the one you will need to disable.
Should you need to install the OTA update later, go into the Software Update settings and click check for update OR go back to your boot manager and enable the processes again and reboot.

Lollipop( not testest).
You can try, if you have lollipop version device.
Now Firstly, Go-to this link : https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.google.android.gms
Enter into Beta version of Google Play Services.
After Beta Version installed.
Go-to Device's Settings > Application >Google App > Storage Data > Clear all Data and Cache.
Back to home screen and hold the home navigation button, got it.?

Brand New Pure XL cannot download from Google Play or OTA Update

Hi guys,
BNIB Pure XL cannot download from Google Play or do an OTA firmware update.
I've tried using LTE to download but no luck. Here's what I did:
1) Booted up device.
2) Selected language and added Google account.
3) Device successfully synced Google account and all associated apps were listed in the Google Play Store.
The download bar in the Play store keeps running without downloading anything through either WiFi or LTE.
I've tried clearing the cache of Play Store and Google Services to no avail.
The current firmware is 2015-11-23 and I can download the 2016-03-22 update but it gives an 'Unzip error' after downloading.
I can send and receive emails and use the browser without issue.
I only want to flash the stock firmware as a last resort. Surely, there must be an easy fix to this!
Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
Cheers,
Andrew
When you try to download something from the play store, does it show up in your notifications?
If not, do the following:
Settings > Advanced Settings > Apps > All > Download Manager > Clear data
Settings > Advanced Settings > Apps > All > Download Manager > Force stop
Settings > Advanced Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store > Force stop
If it does show up and always shows that the download is "Paused" or "Pending", try installing a VPN application like Hotspot Shield, turn it on and do the above steps before attempting to download something.
A word of warning, don't do anything else other than download what you need from the play store once you turn the VPN on. Turn it off after downloading what you need from the play store.
As for your firmware update issue, I can only imagine that the update zip was somehow incomplete or corrupted.
Use the installed File Explorer app to navigate to Files > Phone Storage > adupsfota and delete "update.zip".
Then try downloading the update again.
I do not know if updating will fix the play store download issue, but if you want to try it, it's up to you.
