Hi everyone, i have just recived my at&t HOX (im on the border of mexico with the US).
I taught that configurating the internet services of my provider Telcel would be kinda easy, it turns out that it isn't or im doing something wrong.
As soon as i insert the micro sim from telcel there appeared a logo of 4G at the top of the phone, but when i tried to go online it said i didnt had any connection.
So i tried to set a new VPN network (dont know if im doing it rigth, i saw it on the web) as following:
name: Mexico: Telcel: Internet
type (default) : PPTP
Server address: internet: itelcel.com
selected by default: PPP encryption (MPPE)
and when i selected it gives me the next dialoge that i filled like this:
username: webgprs
password: webgprs2002
And i also tried diferent vpn names and they cannot conect, i dont know what im doing wrong.
Try finding the correct APN then make sure you enter all the right info for that provider and remember to save it.

Is there something else i need to know? i also tried with diferent internet configurations in the *#*#4636#*#* menu but i still get the 4g simbol but no internet at all :S
You need to set the proper APN for the carrier you use that's it
System settings > mobile network > access point names > menu > new apn > add the right info for the carrier and then just remember to hit save

You need to have the correct apn before you mess with all the other settings you mentioned. If you have the correct apn then I have no idea what the issue is.

never mind, i went to technical support of telcel and they sorted it out... thanks anyway guys.
What was the issue? Maybe you could help someone with the same issue in the future.

Ok the problem is I am on GTA network here in guam (the company uses at&t phones) I have a unlock HTC Sensation and the data is not working on the phone. When I place the sim card in another phone it works perfectly. I have taken my phon to the support office and they cannot figure out the problem...Any suggestions??
Have you checked to see if you have the correct APN (Access Point Names) in your settings. To check them go to Settings/ Wireless & networks/ Mobile networks/ Access Point Names. You should shed your carrier listed in the Access Point names touch on it and right down your settings. Then Google to find the correct APN settings to check and see if they are correct. If you do not see you carrier listed then you will need to touch the menu button and then touch New apn to add your carrier's APN settings. Again Google for the settings I am sure you will find them.
Also you have to have also when you go into Settings/Wireless & networks you will see a Mobile network with a check box beside it make sure it is checked. Without this checked you will not get as mobile data connection.
Thank you for your reply. According to GTA i have the right APN and everything is checked. The phone GPS thinks im in Sparta TN. when I really am In guam. I dont know if that has anything to do with it.
any other suggestions?

You are supposed to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The leprechaun will tell you all you need to know.
It's very easy. I had the same problem here in Pakistan. What you do is take the APN settings you get from your provider and fill them in the usual place (Settings->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names).
Fill out everything that the operator tells you to, except the last entry APN Type. Set the value in this field to "default". Save and exit this screen. You'll see radio buttons next to your 'New' APN. Just select it and your phone will recognize mobile data.
P.S. 3G/2G is used whenever the phone's radio detects the presense, so it doesn't matter what type of network you're on, as long is the APN is there.
the operator here just tells me mpulse for the name and mpulse.gta.net for the server.
Hi,
i've got a HTC titan 2 which was given to me as a gift by my gf in States. the phone is at&t but unlocked. now i am in Uk and using t-mobile uk on the phone. everythng works fine but i cannot use mobile data on it. i downloaded the htc connection setup but that doesnt work on the phone either, it gives this error "the carrier doesn't exist in database".
i've tried to add APN manually but the add apn settings on the phone does not allow me to setup APN completely as it does not give me full options which it should to setup apn. it gives following options
APN , User name, password, Proxy server/URL, proxy PORT.
it doesnt ask me MMSC MNC, MCC and all that.
so if someone could please guide me what to do.
your help would be really appreciated.
thanks
I have 2 N5's, but under settings>more>mobile networks I dont have Access Point Names. All i've got is Data enabled/Data roaming/ Network mode/ system select/ and carrier settings. So now I would like to put my AT&T sim in and actually use LTE, but no APN menu. These are Sprint N5's not that that should change anything. Thx for any help.

I wish, just Update PRL, and Update Profile. so far I have not been able to find it anywhere
Now on my Samsung Galaxy Note LTE, it's easy to find lol.
by the way, just to help someone help me, I'm on kit kat build version: KRT16M. Baseband M8974a-1.0.25.0.17; Kernel: 3.4.0-g9eb14ba
On my Nexus 5, it's located under "Settings", then right under Data usage there is a "More..." tab.
That takes you to a new screen and under "Mobile networks" is the APN.
I'm on Telus, if that makes any difference.

I also think you have to have a sim card in place for the "APN" to be visible or active.

Yep, that's right where I'm used to seeing it. I'm guessing that Sprint has "hacked" the 4.4 OS and hidden the APN menu or something. I went into the store today and asked where it was and they didn't know (no shock there), but when they tried to update my tower settings they did a *#*#72786#*#* to reset the phone, and then did the *#*#8232#*#* and did some stuff that they wouldn't allow me to see.....
Anyone have an idea if the T-mobile N5's have been "molested"? IE APN menus and such are where they should be?
ok, after some more digging, it looks like the APN settings are all under the data menu using the *#*#3282#*#* to access it. It's all broken up instead of being in one list like in 4.3 and prior, but it looks like it's all there. now to find some apn settings for Sprint and AT&T to do some testing.

Its my understanding these are the same model phone. You might want to try just putting in your AT&T SIM if you haven't done that already. On my previous phone (Verizon Note 2), that changed carrier specific settings and loaded the APN automatically. You shouldn't have to do any dialer menu magic for GSM service. When I activated my Nexus 5 on AT&T we just stuck in the SIM and the AT&T rep configured stuff on his computer, nothing more needed to be done on my phone.
Yup, it worked without a hitch. Soon as I put in the AT&T sim the APN menu was right were it should be. Service was fast and clean. Putting the sprint sim back in proved problematic, but nothing a system restore couldn't fix. Thanks for all the help

For those that already flash H810PR but wanted to get LTE access like stock..
Dial 277634#*# in dialer
Open the menu
Go into Field Test > Modem Settings>LTE band Selection>Band 17
Back
Then go to RAT selection
Select GSM/WCDMA/LTE
You can check the status by
about phone>network>Mobile network type...
It will shows you LTE..
cheers
Updates:::: luckily we now have LTE auto choices within our preferred network selection..

I think, that's all what we need to enable lte from our device using 810pr FW..
What i noticed is when we're calling, the connection will drop from 4g to 3g..I guess its the same as Verizon Variant
Dennisg34 said:
With the fact Verizon purposely drops your coverage from 3/4G to 1x while making a phone call? I've seen in the General G4 forum the "fix" for this is to setup advanced calling (which costs money). Anyone know if there's another fix? Possibly something to edit in build.prop (very highly doubt that)? Perhaps I'll have to wait for custom ROMs to come out in the future and have them enable this along with the Mobile Hotspot.

Wow, it works! Thank so much!
Unfortunately this isn't working for me . I'll keep trying after some updates finish up.
EDIT:
To clarify, my connection works but it shows 3G. This might be due to my poor signal at home. I'll check it again tomorrow where I know I usually get 4G.
This works, but we do drop to 3G when making calls.
I was wrong, these changes didn't make any noticeable difference (terrible LTE in my area).
I tried changing target_country to US and target_operator to ATT in BuildProp, but that killed 4G completely.
I posted ATT and H810PRa build.prop files here.
What does the LTE icon look like? I'm getting a 4G logo
That is LTE, you'll see "H+" for the fake 4g

I'm getting really crappy 3G connection if anything. What are you guys using for APN? Maybe that's my problem?
---------- Post added at 03:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:13 PM ----------
I tried using the default APN and the phone has all sorts of issues trying to connect to anything. I have to put the APN in manually to get anything.
What are you guys using for ATT APN?
---------- Post added at 04:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:06 PM ----------
I did a combination of changes on top of the settings suggested here and got 4G finally. I did the settings the OP suggested and the following:
Defined a new APN based on info from here:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...-t-lte-apns-network-settings.html#post3301622
I also went back into the modem settings, LTE-A Carrier settings and hit the top option "CA Enable /SupportedBandCom" which also says All-enable under it. This resets things and boom, 4G.
Hopefully this helps anyone else that's having issues. Although I managed to back to HSPA trying to get the settings for you guys, doh.
@sorozco Here's the APN from my ATT version:
Name ATT Nextgenphone
APN nxtgenphone
Proxy Not set
Port Not set
Username Not set
Password Not set
MMSC http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port 80
MCC 310
MNC 410
Auth type None
APN type default,mms,supl,hipri,fota
APN prot IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming IPv4/IPv6
However, here's a thread that suggest we should use a different APN.
One more step for settings to work
Actually did not work for me there is no where to select Lte in network mode. just gsm and wcdma. followed the instruction and it did say success. But no 4g lte.
Worked for me, thanks for posting. Now we just need the ATT official files.

View attachment 3446193Hello all, after doing this I had LTE from activating it in RAT selection in the hidden menu.
In mobile network > Network Mode, it was still GSM/WCDMA auto and was driving me insane. I looked around and found out the LteConfigs.apk for the International versions did not have the AT&T MCC MNC added in, not letting us select GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto.
I took the app, decompiled, added it in lteready.xml and recompiled, now I can select it and it automatically selects it when reboot.
enjoy.
Put in system/app/LteConfigs/. Folder permissions 0755. LteConfigs.apk permissions 0644.
Remove the old apk and .odex
Take this apk and just replace with original. Set permissions to 0644. Reboot.
Can leave arm64 folder.
I took an edited lteready.xml file and replaced with the original one, no decompiling, just swapped with 7z.

Thanks for the update! It's working for me now on H810PR 04.
My friend received an Xperia Z3 from Telstra as part of his plan and I got an iPhone 6 as part of my iiNet one. I hated the iPhone 6 and he hated the Xperia, so we swapped after looking up online that they are both unlocked out of the box. Everything seems fine except that my mobile data doesn't work, in the upper left corner it shows iiNet (the right carrier) but I cannot seem to get my mobile data to work. Is this a problem with the unit itself or with the fact that we swapped phones?
You'll need to configure your APN settings since Telstra phones only come with their settings.
Visit iiNet's website for their APN settings then head to Settings -> Mobile Network -> APN and add them there. Save then enable.

Yeah it is... For the apn type for the inter net one, do I type "default or internet"? Or just one of them?
I got it to work in the end but thanks for all your help
For anyone interested in how I did it, continue to read:
Firstly I went to Settings > More under Wireless and Networks > Internet Settings (note you need WiFi to do this) and then selected Optus because iiNet runs under Optus and then the APN settings were changed automatically and mobile data now works
Sent from my D6653 using XDA Free mobile app
Ahh yes, the Optus APN, slipped my mind.
FYI for anyone else, the Optus APN works with all MVNO's using the Optus network (Virgin Mobile, iiNet, Exetel etc.).
Glad it's all sorted out.
