Hi,I have some questions regarding my wife's phone.first,am I in the right forum? I am a razr user and she is coming from a bionic, she bought the Samsung used. Next,is there a way to get the led light to flash on notifications like the razr or bionic?if not will rooting and flashing a rom change this? Thanks in advance for helping or directing me to the right forum

There does not appear to be one on XDA.

WRONG SECTION!!!
Here
Verizon S3 has a locked bootloader.
No root yet.
Any words or rumors from devs ? Really like the phone but no root might be a deal breaker for me

What would be the safest phone to get to use for developing custom Roms? Currently my phone is a Samsung galaxy S3. I would like to play with custom Rom development on another phone where the risk of bricking it is low, and won't have to worry about messing it up.
My guess would be a phone/tablet with an unlocked boot loader? Or a nexus?

Um there's no such thing all android phones/android software is built on a Linux kernel so go with the official developers phone Samsung galaxy nexus

I don't think any of them have unlocked bootloaders.I would be nice if they did.

I am new to Motorola devices and bootloaders. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S 4G. The entire bootloader and fastboot methods are completely unknown to me. I am asking for the advantages and disadvantages of the UXR vs LAIO methods of everything encompassed in installing a custom ROM. All I could pull out of these forums is that I have what is referred to as Stingray I think. (Original Xoom with 4G) I have never used a adb type method ever, so I am uncertain where to even begin. Any insight you could provide for me would be wonderful.
Thank you in advance for any help you may provide me and hopefully, I will be able to help some other newbie when I figure it all out.

LAIOT is pretty useful if you are not a DOS command line superstar or you don't have the time to reinvent the wheel.

I looked and I am sorry if I missed it but what I would like to do is...
RAZR HD stock.
Freeze the bloat. VZW
Flash a faster kernel to further improve performance.
Still maintain full function.
Any help is very much appreciated.

You could if there were other blur kernel options and you were rooted with an unlocked bootloader.

I recently bought this Pantech burst and rooted it. The battery life though is terrible. I wanted to know if anyone has experience with this phone and what my best route would be. I thought about installing CM 10 and the gapps from here :

But i'm waiting for feedback first.
