I just recently purchased a 32gb class 10 micro sd card for my skyrocket, and it works perfectly fine.
The only issue i have is that the microsd card won't be read unless i use a file manager such as astro.. Apps like gallery or mxplayer won't read the microsd card.
This didn't happen with the 16gb class 4 micro sd card, so what is happening?
Anyway to fix this issue?
Thanks

Are you running any kind of custom ROM I would try formatting via PC with a different format if that fail go back to stock and see if it does the same thing if it does maybe something wrong with SD coding don't see any reason it would partially work

Mini Tools Partition Wizard is the program to use if you are on windows. Use it to format the card to fat32 primary. If that doesn't do it replace the card.

Is there anyway to make the paths so the phone can determine its correct location?
Could it be the difference in size of the card itself too?

Yes, i am rebooting.
Only issue is that to view images in apps like gallery or mxplayer, the folder has to be on the root of the sdcard. Before i had a group of folders in one, and now it won't let me do this.

Why do you have to find a spare SD?
Procedure says process will make SD card a golden card for S-off. I might be wrong but it appears that the S-off command needs to get put on the SD card before it gets activated and allows root. Or is that wrong?

ok, there´s no need to use a different sdcard. The hack kit does not touch the information in it and after the whole process is done it wipes de goldcard from it...you don´t need to keep either.
I have run the kit with my current sdcard and there´s no need to change it...make a back up just for precaution, but it does not format it....

Yep, the only fact that u have to take into consideration is that the sdcard needs not to be corrupted...otherwise it will fails to work as a goldcard.

I'm not running CM10 but I can say that ROM is probably at least 150MB. Every nightly you download and don't delete is taking up space on one of your SD cards.
The updater app should tell you where it is downloading the files to.

OP: I'm not positive but I believe there's a directory made on the internal sdcard called cmupdater or something to that effect. I haven't been on CM10 for almost a month.

Certain basics
You don't have cwm in a Rom zip
/data.. internal memory
/system... system memory.. this is where your Rom is
/boot... kernel is here
/recovery... independent of all other partitions and can be flashed either in Android using flash image binary or fastboot..
Google what other recoveries you have for your phone.. it should be in index /sticky for your phone in your forum thread.

you have answer ur own question..lol
think..memory card own do not supply own power to operate. the phone does. why your memory card broken? the phone brack it. why still the card be use in normal, thats complicated. intermediate current or voltage supply to the card may cause this. same principal as some phone can oc 1.3ghz some can't.

I've tried regular factory reset via settings, also I tried flashing the stock ROM with Odin, both seem to work fine, I'm not getting any errors or anything, but when I reboot the phone afterward its still exactly the same, all his apps, accounts, data is still there. I also tried to install cwm via Odin which also said was successful, but then the stock recovery is still on the phone any help would be greatly appreciated, I've had a few sammys in my day so I know my way around Odin / heimdall etc... Yea that's what I was thinking, its like the whole system is set to read-only. Some sort of chip failure maybe. Bummer cause the phone looks like brand new, not a scratch or knick on it

I might be wrong but this sounds like what happens when you have a corrupted emmc. If I am right, this is a hardware issue. One quick way to check is to flash the latest official firmware via ODIN. If I am right, either Odin will fail or you will have the exact same ROM you have now even after Odin install.

Topprospect posted a long complicated thread when he had the super brick. If I remember correctly, it involved some ROM code changes to use external SD card as the primary memory. I don't remember if it worked for him. Maybe worth a shot if all else fails and you really really want to use the phone.
