i tied that already. its partitioned with ext4 partition & Linux swap partition would this affect it

I believe Ext4 should be fine, I'm not sure, I know more about Tipo, which uses ext4 as far as I know.
About swap, I am not sure if J or XJ supports it, as tipo or miro support it neither...

just tried a clean sd card unpartitioned still the same. i think this is a problem with the phone. ive updated to the new 7.5 firmware but still the same ):

U able to format it from phone?
Sent from my ST25i using Tapatalk 2

yea i clicked the (blank sdcard or unsupported file system) notification in the draw and it asked me if i want to format i clicked ok but its still the same. its defiantly formated as fat32.

If you have any more SD cards nearby, try them. Or, try this SD card in another Android friend, even a friend's phone for 1 minute. This would help isolate whether it's the SD or the phone. I agree with the user above, I think it's likely a format issue, even though I can see you've tried a few things. On the rare occasion that this has happened to me, it was a format issue.

Increase internal memory using sd card?

Hello
I just bought an Xperia L.
internal memory disappoints me.
it's 1.57 n 4gbplus sd card.
can I use sd card for game data as 4gb
isn't enough for me. While buying I thought it'll be 6 n sd. I have 16gb card. How to I install three to four games of about 1.2 gb each? (4.8gb)
There is a tutorial on the forum how to swap internal with external memory which will make your 16 Gb SD Card as a Internal memory.
But be careful and do not format the internal one (will be know as a external after swap) as this will brick your phone. Just swap, do not formate and here you go
link2SD worths a look too

afaik the only difficulty you could find is the sdcard partitioning, but it can be easily performed from the recovery

Thank you for being detailed. I exactly know what are you talking about. It takes just two minutes to setup Link2sd if you are rooted.
The reason I do not like Link2Sd is that once you factory reset your phone, sometimes it corrupts your system files. It happened with me a couple of times. It's just I had a bad experience with it.
Cheers again

I repartitioned my internal SD card and my userdata to use for cm12. I used it, and then I decided to flash stock. While flashing, flashtool gave me an error.
After that, only thing that works are Flashmode, Fastboot and Recovery with adb.
I can't flash anything on recovery, as it says E:/ can't be mounted.
I also tried fastboot flash system system.sin, but it failed.
I took the advice of an xda member to use gparted, but my device isn't recognized, or so I think.
Please help me, I have no warranty over this device, and I also have no knowledge.

I be very brief because of my exam tomorrow. Google /Check XDA posts/ quote me back after google/XDA
Get flashtool for Sony Xperia
http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Install drivers from flash tool
Download ftf for your phone c2105 or 104 . check settings about for this information.(XDA Xperia l general section) @Joel16 he has wonderful guide for all this
Use flash tool to flash stock ROM. Clear portion/cache etc (google how to use it)
See if that works!
Or yoy can use Sony's own tool PC companion(find on Sony mobile website) to repair your phone!
Next Tim use folder mount app to install many big games to sdcard1.
Good luck
Is there any way to increase my Device memory(2gb) by merging it with Internal memory(4gb)? Even though I have 191mb free in device memory, the google maps and all are not getting installed in my rooted phone.

[Q] SDcard format

Has anyone tried to use an ext2/3/4 formatted external sdcard? Which of these formats can be used in our Xperia E3? I know that windows will not be able to recognise the card if I insert it in the pc but thats not a problem since the card is always on the phone and MTP doesn't care about the format...

AFAIK It wont be directly readable in the phone.. you need a mount script to be able to view it
I might be wrong..

That is the case with other xperia phones like Ε. I just hoped that things might have changed regarding E3.

Use a computer to format as above especially if it's a new card and try again the xa will take upto a 200gb sd card no problem.

Format in FAT32 with Gparted an Ubuntu if it doesn't work, working for corrupted card too.
the thing is... that the card is working on other devices..

Have you tried multiple sd cards in the xa, if so and they all refuse to work on the xa but work fine on other devices it could be the card reader is defective.

What brand of SD card is it? I'm having the same trouble with my Samsung Pro 64GB, whether it's formatted with FAT32 or ExFAT, and of course the card works in other devices and other cards work in the phone.
8GB here and no problem !
For me the only working way is to format again in Fat32 with Gparted and Ubuntu. Everybody will have this problem when disabling Adoptable Storage, formatting with the Android/TWRP/Windows will not solve the problem. And it seem to be the same with some cards "out of the box".
same as mine when i rooted my phone before haha

U11 SD card read issue

First time I tried to use sd card on my phone today. It doesn't read the card. Card is working fine. I tested it on pc and on another phone. I formatted it on pc and nothing changed. Phone is us unlocked and running stock oreo. Anyone has the same problem? Or solution?
Edit: problem solved when I format the card through my old phone but not from my pc.
I've had the issue before.. Back up everything on it and format it through your phone, not from a PC... I know it's a well known fact, but in case you don't know, if you ever format a card from your PC, don't use the format tool that comes with Windows, it doesn't format correctly and could damage the card... Also, before you put the card back in the phone, try wiping the terminals on it before re-inserting it

What file system are you using on the card? Try formatting with a different file system to see if you can get it to read.. I had an Android set top box that wouldn't read exFAT but if read NTFS without any issues

For the heck of it, try FAT32.. If you can get it to read in the phone then, reformat it again from the phone.. If it still doesn't read, try another card in the phone to make sure it isn't the phone itself or the rom you have installed.. If the other card works, maybe contact the manufacturer of the card to see if you can get a replacement.. I've done that for a few SanDisk cards already and their customer service is pretty good from my experience
*Edit* I also have had luck with the format tool on SD card.org
