[Q] Unable to establish a Mobile Data Connection - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

Hi,
I have a HTC 8x, which was unlocked, but Branded 3. I have Put my 02 (Uk) Sim in the Phone, and whilst everything else appears to be working fine, I am unable to establish a mobile Data connection, when a wifi connection is established.
I texted 02 Activate, and the response was unable to send settings contact your Corporate Support team.
I have tried the settings they have provided, but they do not appear to work, however they are not familiar the with the device and are unable to assist.
Can anyone else, confirm what the apn settings should be?
Do I need to set up the mms apn as well ?
Are there any other settings I need to check/Change ?
I have Data on my 02 account and it should work
Normally I can get these things working, but alas I have failed miserably on this occasion.

I have the same issue with my at&t branded 8x after connecting to WiFi I have to power cycle the phone to get it to connect to a mobile network most of the time.
Sent from my PM23300 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

mda mms

hey i seem to have a problem with my mda's mms
i set it up yesterday after updating to WM6 and it was fully functioning this morning up until about 5 oclock. then when i soft reset my phone it gives me an error saying :
Dialed: wap.voicestream.com cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change if needed tap settings. If the problem continues reset your mobile device according to your manufactures doc and try again
can anyone help me out on what to do?
i was having the same issue. I cheated and called cust service and had them resend the configuration back over. worked like a charm.
so all i have to do is call cust service and tell them to send me the MMS settings?
or u can just change wap.voicestream.com to internet2.voicestream.com or you can try internet3.voicestream.com all of these are valid but only internet2.voicestream.com works for me...but all are used by t-mobile...check em out
I'm on Faria's wm6 rom and in the MMS server tab i dont have a place for the APN to be punched in.
The fields i have to fill are
server name, gateway, port, server address, connect via, sending size and wap version. i have these to the t-mo spec but am wondering where i would try the internet2.voicestream.com method mentioned above.
----------- Found it

Change the name of your connection.
If you've accessed mms and internet, your settings are correct.
This has happened to my several times and this was the fix.
its still not working ive used...internet2, internet3, and also wap.voicestream
can someone please help me out!
did you change the name of your connection like stated above?
i finally got it to work last night and then i restarted my phone and then tried it this morning and it was back to not working
any help??

can't download using mobile network

Hello all.
My first post here, even though I have had a lot of benefit from using this forum.
I have just updated my HTC magic with this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552274
and now I canøt connect to the mobile network anymore. Whenever I try to refresh the weather or create my email account, I get the following message: This application requires network access. Enable data connection or Wi-Fi to download data.
I currently do nt have access to a wi-fi network, so what do I do?
FYI I have no problem calling my phone, so I must be connected to the network.
Hope anyone can help.
Kind regards

Guess you have to manually set your APN settings. Look for info at your providers homepage.
That worked perfectly. Thank you very much.

No internet when using Rebel sim card

Hi friends,
I recently bought a HTC HD2 locked to T Mobile in UK. I used a Rebel sim to unlock it and I am now using it on O2.
However I am not able to start internet, neither can I receive settings from O2.
The message that gets displayed tell the phone as pre set T Mobile internet settings and these cannot be changed
Is there anyway I can bypass these? Anyone else faced same thing before?
Thanks
Metal
can't you manually change the apn to that of o2?
Rudegar,
Thanks for your reply.
I cannot change the apn as all the settings are for T Mobile and I cant change them.
I tried using all the settings but no use. I can start the internet using Wifi but not through operator internet.
When I go to the new connection set up I am asked to select country (i select as UK), then I am asked to select operator and only option I have is T - Mobile.
Besides when I click on any browser, I get the T Mobile flash screen and then the browser starts.
I get an error as I am not a T Mobile customer. I have a link for settings there. When I click that it says -
This connection is pre configured. It cannot be modified.

email account does not recognise wi-fi

I have a HTC HD2 unit and after setting up my email details it fails to recognise that I am connected via wi-fi at home and work. when ever I try to send/receive it tells me that there is no service. This problem has only started after updating the ROM to 1.72.841.0 (this is the Telstra version as I am in Australia). Telstra have an agreement with HTC to have a number of default settings installed which direct you to use their pay for services. I have been able to bypass most of these.
I have asked my phone service provider to block data services so that my only connection to the internet is via wi-fi at home and work.
I have tried to go to the settings/advanced and set the network to My ISP but still have no result.
I am able to send and receive emails on my work email account as I have installed the certificate required.
Can anyone give me some idea as to how to fix this problem?
I have found a way to resolve my issue

[Q] No 4G/LTE/3G connection

I have the D6633 and the phone works great except that it won't connect to the 4G/3G/2G/LTE network. I can make calls, send sms normally. It even recognizes both sim cards connected. But internet only over wi-fi.
I called my operator, they say the phone is configured correctly, I tried my brother's sim card from another operator and the same happens.
So, the phone is clearly unlocked, if not it wouldn't recognize the sim cards at all. But no connection to the internet...
Any suggestions? I already did four factory resets, I recovered the Rom using sony software... Starting to get anxious here

Despite what your operator says, check your phone is configured correctly. Check the APN - copy it from someone else with the same phone on the same network. Which one are you on? Go into the network options and select 4g, or 3g, etc, one at a time. Select the network to connect to manually; you might have a 2g, 3g and 4g connection to chose from; try all of them.
If that fails, especially with what you said about your brother's sim card, it does sound like it's faulty.

Download Internet and MMS. Under settings, More, Internet Settings.
Double check that you have a tick box in Mobile data traffic under settings, More, Mobile Networks
If that doesn't work, then select Mobile networks, Network Operators, note this is quite slow, but should show a list of carriers or bands. Select the one for your sim, which will re-establish with the carrier (and should download the APN's) Access Point Names. If not talk to your operator what these should be and add them if they don't exist (they normally will have info about them on their internet sites.

That worked. I could not configure APN manually, it would not save no matter how many times I configured it. SO I used an APN APP from plaster and it worked. Thank you for the enlightenment!
good to hear it worked out
