File Manager for SD and USB - Asus Transformer TF700

So I flashed CleanRom Inheritance last night. But now I can't figure out how to view the SD and USB folders. I opened ES File Manager and I don't see where to choose those storage options. I also have root explorer and can't find these storage locations. It seems like when i fashed the new rom that it removed the file manager that came with the Infinity. Any help would be appreciated.

During the install, did you select file manager? If you do it should be there. To verify, tab on the sdcard icon in your dock it should launch file manager.

In ES File Explorer, go to settings, root settings, and check Up to Root. Go back. Press UP and you will see a folder called Removable. Your Micro SD, SD and USB devices will be found here. You can create a shortcut as well.

Make sure install the stock file manager when installing CROMI

Just to add to your confusion: I absolutely love Total Commander -- it has user-defined shortcuts, and shows links to mounted storage by default in the starting screen (microSD, SD and USB). You can find it here:

+1. I have been using it since the beta, about 3 months now, and I absolutely love it. I didn't gripe when it went to a paid model, i bought it immediately. Well worth $2 to have a nice dual pane file manager, as I have just purchased and installed dual 64GB UHS-1 micro SDCards (on in micro slot, other in the dock's SD slot using the adapter).
Also, you can get to all storage devices by clicking the home icon in either pane, then selecting the devices tab. Presto.

SD card hierarchy?

Is it just me, or does anyone have a messy folder structure?
Ex, my SD card is named HTC 16GB and under it I have about 50 folders.
I've seen on several threads people mentioning system/app, yet I don't have those folders, my system folders are scattered a bit.
Is there any specific hierarchy I should follow, would organizing my folders screw up my phone when it tries to retrieve data?

Well it's in alphabetical order...
DO NOT TOUCH THE FOLDERS
Reorganising them could stuff up your SD card I strongly recommend you leave them they are all in their place for a reason.

What? You aren't going to brick you phone meeting with folders on the sd card. In fact I've deleted, renamed and done just about everything else with folders on the sd card.
Oh, and to the op. To find your system/app folder, you need to use a file explorer on your phone, like es file explorer, and access the folder from your phone, as system folders are in your phones memory an not the sd card.

Problems transferring files to sdcard

I'm having trouble copying files (primarily music) to my sdcard. Either entire folders that are copied will show as empty, or only some of the files will copy. I also routinely get the message "your device might not be able to play this file", which I'm assuming is due to the fact that most of my music is in flac (does HTC assume most players don't know what to do with flac?).
Anybody else experiencing these bugs?
That's because kit kat doesn't support it. You have to use the xposed app "handle external storage" to be able to move stuff to your SD card

Thanks for the info. I'm still learning my way around KitKat (and Xposed).
Ok... after doing some more research (and playing with xposed and other things), the issue is not resolved. I've already edited the platform.xml file to enable writing to the sdcard, but it doesn't help with transferring files from pc to the device via usb. Additionally, files that I did successfully write to the sdcard do not appear in Root Explorer, even though r/w is enabled, and various other apps (players) can identify the files. Either I'm missing something obvious, or KitKat is really screwy. I'm starting to miss Jelly Bean on my old Rezound.
Or just use this and reboot once you use it.

Thanks, but I've already tried that. It only implements the same changes as manually editing platform.xml. Once that's been done, NextApp will display this message:

It works perfect for me. I go into app settings and moved Google Music and everything else I could to the SD card.

I think you're misunderstanding what my problem is. I'm trying to move music files from my PC to my SDCARD. Not data from apps to the sdcard.

Stock player, Poweramp, Neutron player all will show something different for available files in the specified folders. Root Explorer won't show files that I put in a folder labeled "Audio Books", even though I drag-and-drop the files there using my PC, and the PC shows they're there. I put four audio books on my sdcard in the last coupled days (in mp3), and the files are all missing. Now, plugging it in to my PC, the files are nowhere to be found. They were there (at least some of them) a day ago. WTH?? The folder is there, but it's empty. So empty I can hear an echo in there...

[Q] Empty folder in the storage of the Nexus 5

Hello, this is my first post on XDA. I noticed yesterday that all the files and subfolders in the folder /storage/emulated/0/download
are apparently disappeared.
Three file managers, Total Commander, Astro File Manager, and X-plore, display that folder as empty.
Instead, that folder contained many eBooks, PDF manuals of several calculators, and some other documents.
The app Device Inspector, choosing the option "Storage & Memory", displays the following data:
Device Storage, Used 12.54 GB, Available 11.16 MB.
Memory, Used 1.44 GB, Available 379.23 MB.
Thus it looks like the download folder is still holding all the files I have previously stored in it,
mostly from my PC via WiFi.
The problem is not only due to the fact that the files are now non-accessible,
but it is also impossible to install new apps, due to the lack of available memory.
The first thing I tried was to power off the Nexus 5 and then power it on again,
in order to reset the system, but that didn't work.
Then I googled looking for a solution, but with no joy.
All I was able to find is the advice to re-format the storage and to copy all the files
into the storage again.
I found also the advice to use TestDisk, a software for the PC, able to recover data from
SD cards, USB sticks, and so forth.
In both cases it is needed to use a PC, and I have two at home, but now I am on Summer Holidays,
and the only other device I have here is another smartphone, a Nexus 4.
Anyway I have the backup of all my data, of course, both at home and on an USB stick I have taken with me, and by now I would like just to know how to free the storage space in order to be able to install some further apps, to store some other photos and/or videos, and so forth.
Thanks for any explaination.
check /sdcard/ in the root filesystem using root explorer. i bet thats where all your files are, not in /storage/emulated/0/download

By now I cannot either install nor use Root Explorer, due to
a lack of memory and the fact that my phone is not yet rooted. I will try when I'll be back home.
In the meanwhile, I have seen that Total Commander, too,
can display the folder /sdcard/ under the folder Root of the Filesystem, but it looks like my files are not visibile.
Anyway, thank you for the reply.

[Q] Cant delete files from SD card (jellybean)

I'm cleaning up my phone, PHOTOS only shows photos stored on the phone, it doesn't include photos on the SD card.
So I downloaded the SD card photos via Airdroid FILES and now want to delete them
If I right click on EXTERNAL SD CARD, I'm given the delete option, but if I dive into any subdirectories, all delete options are greyed out whether it's right click on directory or file, or select and click the trash can.
Any ideas? This is a Note 3 running Android 4.3

And here you can see no delete option
Has nobody run into this before? I posted the screenshots that were requested. Was kind of expecting a response.

If AirDroid doesn't have the permission to delete files on your external sd card, the delete option will be greyed out. Or would you please give it a try on the phone: AirDroid--->Tools--->Files. Try deleting one photo there just to check if AirDroid has the permission. Thank you in advance
I think you're on to something. Using AirDroid on the phone itself, I attempted to delete a file from the SD card. The delete option was there, it said the delete was successful, but nothing was actually deleted.
What might prevent this from working?

AirDroid does not have the permission to delete files on your SD card
right, we determined that. my question was WHY would it not have permissions? What should I be looking at to fix that problem?
anyone knows how to fix it ?

Hello,
I have a Nokia 3.1 phone running Android 8.0 Oreo. I am not able to move files from my internal storage to my SD card. Whenever I try to do this I get an error message that says: You must perform the certain steps to grant Samsung SD card card access rights. I click OK and do the steps but nothing happens.
I am trying to move video files to my SD card. I selected the file that I wanted to move, and then selected the “Move To” option. I then selected: Move to MicroSD, and I selected the Documents folder. And the following screen came up to move the file to:

And it sent me right back to the previous screen.
What am I doing wrong here?
