Congrats you already have new baseband (v20).

If your software version starts with v20 you have the new baseband, if it starts with v10 you have the old baseband

baseband question.. i'm confused!!

hi
im struggling to understand something. I followed the procedure to upgrade my baseband to gingerbread and had v21a for a couple of months. A few problems have occurred with ghost calls etc so i decided last night to use the lg update tool again and flash the 20b.kdz file instead. Finally got it to work and my phone said it was running software 20b. I then rooted and install a backup i had of thiaiz 0.1. When I looked at the phone info again, it says software version 21a...baseband is L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00. Is this still the 20b baseband?
just confused me because the software version changed back to 21a?!
ideally after either a v20 baseband or maybe a froyo baseband with cyanogen
thanks

Thats not a problem mate whatever kdz you flashed the baseband will be the same when people make rom and thiaiz makes excellent roms we do not edit that part but rest assured that your still on 20b baseband..
If you don't believe me install Cyanogen mod on your phone and ur baseband will say 20b... Cyanogen mod always tell you your right baseband. Normal devs like us don't edit that bit so whatever rom we use that roms buildprop stay on the rom..

is the battery stats fixed in it too if so my next rom will be based of the german 21D i suppose...
Thanks the info all. Thought i was going mad. Think i may well give 21d a go then. Its just the voicemails and some missed calls plus shocking battery life that bugs me
so to make sure i get this....if i flashed the kdz of the 21d firmware...then rooted it and restored a thiaiz rom backup through CWM....that will leave me with the same rom i love but with the 21d baseband+without any problems???
struggling to find a download link for 21d that works.... can someone please post one?
thanks

Optimus 3D Will Not Update

Hi,
I recently purchased a new LG Optimus 3D which has no network branding or boot logos. It is running Android 2.2.2 with V10k firmware which I believe is "Europe Open". However, when I connect my phone to the computer to update I am told there is no updates available?
I feel a little bit upset as I thought this was a good phone with the opportunity to upgrade to a newer version of Android but it seems that the phone can't.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you.

I just checked the website and translated it and I have found out that my phone isn't actually Europe Open but is from Meteor Ireland.
I wonder why they haven't released the update!

You can download firmware from here:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=2
then flash it using kdz tool in development section.
Thanks for your reply!
I did read a guide and I followed it the best I could but the software just crashed when I tried. Then I found another LG tool which looked easier and this said the KDZ file was incorrect. Please could you help me to flash the device to Android 2.3.5? I'd really appreciate that!

Guess you probably managed to upgrade it but here it is step by step..
Before we start i suppose you know about the ghost calls issue that OPTIMUS 3D gingerbread based roms have and you are sure you want to upgrade iy..
Step 1
download
V21a from here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP920/AESOML/v21d_00/V21D_00.kdz
or
V21d from here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP920/AESOML/v21d_00/V21D_00.kdz
Step 2
download this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=887870&d=1328537753
Step 3
make sure you have installed your lg phone drivers before continuing to the next step
Step 4
unzip LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.zip
you will find a filename Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs
run it
if everything runs ok it will take you to the upgrade tool if not it will probably show you a windows script host error
if that happens try running it manualy from folder
LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN
KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
as soon as KDZ_FW_UPD.exe select Type: 3qct and PhoneMode: Emergency
select your downloaded kdz file connect your phone and press
Launch software update
It will take some time to decompress the files but if everything is ok it will start.
You will see the progress with various messages the last message ends with 0
That should do the job..
2 b honest, i think u should keep staying in froyo, until lg solved the ghostcall issue. i updated to gingerbread weeks ago, and messed up by the ghost calls.

Thank you for your replies!
I am starting to consider staying with Froyo as I do not want to miss calls or SMS. Particularly the SMS. That would be a very big problem for me to miss a SMS!
I am wondering as this is a Meteor handset and they haven't even released Android 2.3. If LG releases Android 4 for this phone, would I be able to flash it with a Europe Open KDZ just like I would for Android 2.3? Unless of course they officially release the update but I think that is unlikely considering they haven't released 2.3!
Is the ghost calls and sms a big problem with this phone and the Android 2.3 update?!
Cheers!
2.3 gingerbread is really a nice firmware, u can use the 3d button as the camera shutter button during the camera mod.
there is some new playlist in the music player for you to sort all the songs.
theres a 2d to 3d tool,u can use it to turn the softwares or games into 3d, but not every app works.(froyo can install this tool too, but i havent try it yet)
also 2.3.5 with a longer battery life.
not everything become better, u will get some laggs everyday, which wont happen in froyo for weeks without reboot.
then the ghost calls issue! this issue just can not acceptable! u dont know when or where it will happen. and while it happen, it ruin ur reputation. your boss, your friends and family ,they all considered u ignored their calls on purpose. ≥﹏≤
and the credit card company can not notify u every debit event via the message. it might cost u if someone created ur copy card ,or picked it.

I really want to go for the Android 2.3 update for this phone by flashing the rom but I am nervous about the ghost call issue.
Is there anything I can do to see if I would be affected? Anything to do with the network or something? Sorry for my misunderstanding, I just am curious if theres a way around the matter.
Chances are you will be affected.. maybe you will not notice it but it will happen.
Reagarding ICS i guess LG is not gonna give it soon.
Froyo is ok BUT its too old.
There are also plenty of ROMS over here in XDA that you can try.
I am currently using:
Rom:ThiaizO3D 2.6.1 Prada Gingerbread + Real3D ICS look
Cpu:Overclocked 1.22 (Antutu Benchmark Score 6228)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3ee...DvjVQa1PpcFNhr2pTgwIdtRMI2jRQla0DEXDWXrsqDrY=
I do not think the update, I would point to the custom rom. Because the LG seems to have no intentions of taking this team rom
I am going to email LG now!

update baseband?

is it possible to update baseband on this phone?
my phone was shipped with 0.15 and i think thats why i've been having the wifi issues. (rebooting nonstop anytime i connect to wifi)
Is there a newer version than 0.15 ?? I havent seen it..
And at the moment its not possible to flash radios with S-ON it can brick your phone. If you get it via an OTA update you will be ok

There has been at least 1 update but I think it went out before the phone launched. I picked up my phone on launch day with a 0.16 base band. Another user on this forum reported getting an OTA to the latest (current) build of 1.53.531.16 which I assume also updated the base band to 0.16
You could try a manual check in by dialing *#*#2342546#*#* in case your wondering 242546 spells "checkin"

Unfortunately i'm not on the stock ROM anymore so that isn't an option.
After doing a bit of research, it seems like the only way to get the baseband update would be for me to somehow revert to the prerelease TMO ROM, then wait for the OTA that was sent out to the prerelease devices which has the baseband update included.
Which is basically impossible, because no one is going to be running that prerelease ROM right now.
So i'm basically clueless at this point. probably just going to see if i can warranty swap it through HTC and hope they don't care about the bootloader being tampered.
Any input from anyone is definitely appreciated!

i'd have to find a prerelease ROM, then wait for the OTA to the release version.

Once the base band is updated you could flash a stock rom or even restore your own personal back up. The international phones use the same chips as the TMOUS phones. How come you don't want to update it if your having problems?

I definitely want to update, but I doubt i'll receive the OTA to update the baseband since i'm on TMO US..
Looking through the thread looks like no US people have tried. I might give it a shot just for kicks. Hopefully it works.
edit - it looks like it definitely won't work if you're on TMO US, because the update has not been pushed out through TMO's servers. The update comes from the carriers, not HTC directly.
anyway problem solved.
ended up getting a replacement from HTC. should be fine.
edit - LOL the replacement came with 0.15 baseband and the kernel from march 29th. retail release versions came with a april 6th kernel and 0.16 baseband.
now i'm clueless. just wait a couple weeks and maybe process another exchange.
haha well my replacement phone came....
still had the same 0.15 baseband as the original pre-release version.
i assumed the replacement would be updated, apparently i was wrong. I might just hang onto this one for a month or so without rooting or unlocking the baseband just in hopes they push an OTA to update my baseband.
can someone teach me how to upgrade my baseband to .15

[Q] LG P999 info

Hi guys. Yesterday I got brand new LG P999 (T-mobile i think, On the box is LG-999,not G2X), although I live in Europe In settings options under about phone tab are following details: android version 2.3.4, kernel 2.6.32.9, built GRJ 22, baseband m6600a-scautnz-2.09720t (may212012)mp:trulge_08.09.02r_mdm, software version lg-p999-v10c-usa-xxx. When I try to update firmware through LG Mobile Support Tool it says that there is already latest version V10c. I dowloaded app GetRil form google play and it says that RIL is not compatible to existing Baseband. So my question: is there another/newer version of software version (like v20 or something), do I need to install adequate baseband and which one or just sit back, relax and wait for official ICS?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english
"sit back relax and wait for official ics "

[!!] Totally bricked?

Hi!
After flashing ZIP with latest P500 recovery from Jenkins CM server I have serious problem.
I cannot enter recovery or fastboot, computer doesn't see any device connected. After turning on the phone I've got LG logo and then a brand new CM logo. Nothing else.
I was thinking about flashing by LG tools, but - as I said - PC doesn't see any device.
What can I do? Are there any keys combinations to enter fastboot/recovery anyway? I've tried Home+Vol-+Power without success.
PS: I'll try emergency mode in few minutes, it must work!
PS2: Flashing with KDZ updater + emergency mode worked!
a little off-topic question: should I have old or new baseband to use CM10.1 nightlies?
You must have new baseband - v20x to use any custom rom based on GB 2.3.3 and above
Means,
Old baseband - v10x
New baseband - v20x
Old baseband roms based on v10x baseband version.
New baseband roms based on v20x baseband version.eg.all ics +jb and some Gb roms.
Hope you understand this and don't forget to hit thanks if i helped you!
@Taranis, even if you are on old base band you can still flash cm10.1 (or any other new roms) by flashing the "old bb fix" after flashing the rom.

OT:
It isn't good idea to flash a girl's phone with latest version of Android.
They won't notice it in any way. They can't even differentiate between froyo and gb. Or between Ics and jellybean.
Rather than being happy with latest version of Android she will complain of having low battery life...

I was on Gingerbread 2.3.3 for a day or two before my LG P500 got bricked and I agree the battery life drained out very quick. Does anyone know if there is a list of differences between 2.3 and 2.2?
Also, I'm planning of getting another LG P500 but a used one of course, anyone know roughly how much is worth paying for one? Ty.

you are right, the best android rom for girls is the stock one non rooted, having latest android on her phone will give you headache, but... if the girl is an android geek the latest version is the right one and that supose that she can do it herself
