[!!] Totally bricked? - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
After flashing ZIP with latest P500 recovery from Jenkins CM server I have serious problem.
I cannot enter recovery or fastboot, computer doesn't see any device connected. After turning on the phone I've got LG logo and then a brand new CM logo. Nothing else.
I was thinking about flashing by LG tools, but - as I said - PC doesn't see any device.
What can I do? Are there any keys combinations to enter fastboot/recovery anyway? I've tried Home+Vol-+Power without success.
PS: I'll try emergency mode in few minutes, it must work!
PS2: Flashing with KDZ updater + emergency mode worked!
a little off-topic question: should I have old or new baseband to use CM10.1 nightlies?

You must have new baseband - v20x to use any custom rom based on GB 2.3.3 and above
Means,
Old baseband - v10x
New baseband - v20x
Old baseband roms based on v10x baseband version.
New baseband roms based on v20x baseband version.eg.all ics +jb and some Gb roms.
Hope you understand this and don't forget to hit thanks if i helped you!

@Taranis, even if you are on old base band you can still flash cm10.1 (or any other new roms) by flashing the "old bb fix" after flashing the rom.

Hi guys,
I flashed CM10.1 successfully! It works quite good

Very good

OT:
It isn't good idea to flash a girl's phone with latest version of Android.
They won't notice it in any way. They can't even differentiate between froyo and gb. Or between Ics and jellybean.
Rather than being happy with latest version of Android she will complain of having low battery life...

I was on Gingerbread 2.3.3 for a day or two before my LG P500 got bricked and I agree the battery life drained out very quick. Does anyone know if there is a list of differences between 2.3 and 2.2?
Also, I'm planning of getting another LG P500 but a used one of course, anyone know roughly how much is worth paying for one? Ty.

you are right, the best android rom for girls is the stock one non rooted, having latest android on her phone will give you headache, but... if the girl is an android geek the latest version is the right one and that supose that she can do it herself

baseband question.. i'm confused!!

hi
im struggling to understand something. I followed the procedure to upgrade my baseband to gingerbread and had v21a for a couple of months. A few problems have occurred with ghost calls etc so i decided last night to use the lg update tool again and flash the 20b.kdz file instead. Finally got it to work and my phone said it was running software 20b. I then rooted and install a backup i had of thiaiz 0.1. When I looked at the phone info again, it says software version 21a...baseband is L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00. Is this still the 20b baseband?
just confused me because the software version changed back to 21a?!
ideally after either a v20 baseband or maybe a froyo baseband with cyanogen
thanks

Thats not a problem mate whatever kdz you flashed the baseband will be the same when people make rom and thiaiz makes excellent roms we do not edit that part but rest assured that your still on 20b baseband..
If you don't believe me install Cyanogen mod on your phone and ur baseband will say 20b... Cyanogen mod always tell you your right baseband. Normal devs like us don't edit that bit so whatever rom we use that roms buildprop stay on the rom..

is the battery stats fixed in it too if so my next rom will be based of the german 21D i suppose...
Thanks the info all. Thought i was going mad. Think i may well give 21d a go then. Its just the voicemails and some missed calls plus shocking battery life that bugs me
so to make sure i get this....if i flashed the kdz of the 21d firmware...then rooted it and restored a thiaiz rom backup through CWM....that will leave me with the same rom i love but with the 21d baseband+without any problems???
struggling to find a download link for 21d that works.... can someone please post one?
thanks

Congrats you already have new baseband (v20).
If your software version starts with v20 you have the new baseband, if it starts with v10 you have the old baseband

Ofcourse a downgrade is possible *Maybe do a little bit more research*
If your phone is rooted and has a Custom Recovery you could search for an android 2.2 rom for your phone, But if the phone didn't release with android 2.2 or lower it isn't possible.

Means if the oldest version of Android the phone was released / sold with --> you can't install a older rom bacause it doesn't exist and no one would ever starting develop a android version lower then the first stock rom the phone ever had!
Why do you want to install Android 2.2???

this phone released with android 2.3.5 then i think i cant put 2.2 .
this phone net speed is too slow and battery drain quickly when net browsing. that wise i thought to go to an old android version to solve above problems.

Not really. 2.3.5 performance is better than 2.2 as far as i know. Phone was released with 2.2 first.
There is a custom Jellybean rom available. I'd suggest trying it and UNINSTALL all non needed crap and deactivate non needed background processes. Especially google's apps love to drain your battery. Also Jellybean support virtual memory. 256MB is pretty low, so setting up the Jellybean rom may help. You can go back to stock at any time flashing the stock firmware.

[Q] Razr Maxx HD - Need to go back to stock or a stock-based ROM

My dad has a Droid Razr Maxx HD and I currently have the bootloader unlocked and a custom Recovery and Rom on there.
He keeps having problems with whatever ROM I put on (forgot by now) and I'd like to put him back to stock or a ROM that based on stock system.
What version of Android is stock on now? I read that they will be rolling out a 4.4 upgrade sometime soon.
Any advice on which ROM to use or how to restore to stock?
Thanks

Ah, that's a useful site. Thanks.
If you had to choose a 4.4.2 ROM, which would you choose?
Also, what version of RSDLite?

I am partial to CyanogenMod myself. I think CM 11 is at a point now you could use it daily. They have an "M" build out there for it currently which they consider as stable as can be at the time and they allow bug reports on it.
One thing to take into consideration about these roms is they are all using the drivers from the 4.1.2 build thats official for the phone. All of them are waiting on the 4.4.2 update being released to have current Android 4.4 drivers tested to work for the device.
In a nutshell expect some sort of buggyness on roms but especially with custom roms on devices that are using old 4.1 based drivers.
Thanks again. I'll stick with Stock for my dad. I told him to get the HTC One M8 since he can't get the Nexus 5 for Verizon.
He'll be happy soon enough!

Help unrooting and flashing a new rom

Hello, it's been some time since I've last rooted and flashed kernels on my devices. My device is having problems with certain apps and I feel it's time to update my root or change my rom or flash a stock rom etc. Here is what I am using now:
Build: MOAR v6.1 OA6
Software: G900PVPU1BOA6
Hardware: G900P.04
Android: 5.0
Kernel: 3.4.0-3859396
Would you recommend I unroot then flash a stock kernel? What is a new root I can use with this phone? Thanks
I would recommend Odin a fresh stock MM rom. Then boot to the desktop, by pass set up. Go to dialer ##72786# it will do a reactivate and update prl and profile.. Then Odin TWRP, and flash a new rom or your choice.. If you like MOAR then Odin a LP stock rom, and do as mentioned and flash MOAR 7.0 it works best. Right now, I'm running crdroid 3.8.5 baset off of Nouget with 7.1 gapps and it works very well You need the latest MM firmware to run it, and at least TWRP 3.2.1-0-ktle.img If you do flash crdroid download ktledv

First off, thanks for the reply. I really appreciate the help. What's the battery life like on MM compared to Lollipop?
I would prefer to use something like a stock rom but just extremely debloated. I also want to be able to play pokemom go without problems and super su keeps giving me problems when trying to play. Do you know of any setups that would allow for pokemon go and are fast, battery effecient, and debloated?

How's the mm baseband? I know the obvious response is updated is better but I experienced better LTE on the firmware I currently have, no idea honestly other than it's lolipop, maybe ok4? I want to upgrade phones but having trouble finding one with sprint newer that can be customized how I like so I'm also looking at playing with this one prior to and after getting maybe a pixel unlocked

I would stick with Lollipop OK4 and flash MOAR 7.0. I to find better LTE and all around connectivity on Lollipop than MM.. I once again, went back to MOAR 7.0 from crdroid.. Crdroid is a great rom, but battery life, sucks, as well as connectivity on calls and data. When in aroma and you get to the point about the kernel, choose don't touch kernel, and finish from there. I never like MM and those are the reasons why.. Crdroid I flashed was 7.0 but naturally on the MM base band, but it was still the same.
Thanks sir nobody could really answer that for me. I found the ok4 of all lollipop got the best LTE where I live, plus I'm on sprint so I'm a bit restricted on ROMs, unified dev leave some bugs with sprints network but not too badly!!

You probably already know, but I will ask anyways. Are you using the KLTEDV version of the unified ROM? KLTE roms does not work very well with sprint.

Thanks! I'll make sure to read which I should use. My daily is still on MM while my old one that's kinda beat up is now on N as it us now the practice phone. Playing with it before Oreo, may stay for a while. And I installed kltespr on both devices as there were still options available for specifically this device with the spr tag. My CM 13 network is fine, no worse than just regular sprint...
Haven't tried the move to either N or O on my daily, worried about the signal discussion. I'll use an old kltespr to test before the newer maintained kltedv if its there probably to see how it goes.

Unfortunately my sprint s5 is one of the phone with that signal issue. I was in the process of changing carrier so to try and fix that issue wasn't worth it for me. My new S5 did not have that issue, when i went to verizon, its a really weird bug.

I think it took a bit to stat with the sprint APN, changed some settings, messed with some stuff, and it seems fine now, I'll have to remember to check back at that before upgrading. I'm on the ok4 baseband
