is it possible to update baseband on this phone?
my phone was shipped with 0.15 and i think thats why i've been having the wifi issues. (rebooting nonstop anytime i connect to wifi)
Is there a newer version than 0.15 ?? I havent seen it..
And at the moment its not possible to flash radios with S-ON it can brick your phone. If you get it via an OTA update you will be ok

There has been at least 1 update but I think it went out before the phone launched. I picked up my phone on launch day with a 0.16 base band. Another user on this forum reported getting an OTA to the latest (current) build of 1.53.531.16 which I assume also updated the base band to 0.16
You could try a manual check in by dialing *#*#2342546#*#* in case your wondering 242546 spells "checkin"

Unfortunately i'm not on the stock ROM anymore so that isn't an option.
After doing a bit of research, it seems like the only way to get the baseband update would be for me to somehow revert to the prerelease TMO ROM, then wait for the OTA that was sent out to the prerelease devices which has the baseband update included.
Which is basically impossible, because no one is going to be running that prerelease ROM right now.
So i'm basically clueless at this point. probably just going to see if i can warranty swap it through HTC and hope they don't care about the bootloader being tampered.
Any input from anyone is definitely appreciated!

thanks man i saw that! but i need something similar for the t-mo US ROM.
i'd have to find a prerelease ROM, then wait for the OTA to the release version.

Once the base band is updated you could flash a stock rom or even restore your own personal back up. The international phones use the same chips as the TMOUS phones. How come you don't want to update it if your having problems?

I definitely want to update, but I doubt i'll receive the OTA to update the baseband since i'm on TMO US..
Looking through the thread looks like no US people have tried. I might give it a shot just for kicks. Hopefully it works.
edit - it looks like it definitely won't work if you're on TMO US, because the update has not been pushed out through TMO's servers. The update comes from the carriers, not HTC directly.
anyway problem solved.
ended up getting a replacement from HTC. should be fine.
edit - LOL the replacement came with 0.15 baseband and the kernel from march 29th. retail release versions came with a april 6th kernel and 0.16 baseband.
now i'm clueless. just wait a couple weeks and maybe process another exchange.
haha well my replacement phone came....
still had the same 0.15 baseband as the original pre-release version.
i assumed the replacement would be updated, apparently i was wrong. I might just hang onto this one for a month or so without rooting or unlocking the baseband just in hopes they push an OTA to update my baseband.
can someone teach me how to upgrade my baseband to .15

Hi... I am here in the Philippines and wanted to flash my DS using the RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8_Radio_20.4801.30.
0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_225161_signed.exe found on the stock shipped ROMs. I just want to ask the following:
1. Since it's a Europrean release, is it compatible for my DS in the Philippines?
2. Will I still be able to receive and install future official OTA updates after flashing this ROM?
3. What's new with this release compared to the prior 2.3.5 release?
I am thinking of flashing since HTC hasn't released the official OTA in Asia yet. I heard it might be end of December. Couldn't wait no more... TIA.

1. To flash a version for different region you will have to use a goldcard. Once installing it, there is no more warranty for you even when it is Stock, since you bought your phone in the Philippines with the local stock version on it. Using the European can also affect the performance, for example the baseband of your mobile carrier can be different, and the radio can have some differences accordingly.
2. You will receive and be able to install all future updates for Europe. But to repeat again - even using Stock, but for another region if you have problems with the device this is an indication that you have changed the software = no warranty.
3. There is some change in the libraries. Up to this moment the reported imporovement, as far as I know is a working Exchange synchronisation
In general if you insist on using Stock software on your phone is better to wait for an official update for your region.
Thanks for that information. I guess I'll have to keep on waiting. Thanks a lot
I am l little crazy about this ,sorry ,anyone who can tell the date, thank you!
knowing AT&T, you may never see an update, unfortunately.....they are notorious for that.

At&t does not push the update, Google does. As far as I've read only the 9020t (T-Mo) version has started to receive OTA updates. Google's announcement stated that the entire roll out will happen over the next month so it could be mid-January before all NSs get on official OTA.
There are ICS ROMs, based on the 9020t OTA, in the development section that work fine on the 9020a, just use a 9020a radio.
So as some of you may know the S4 had it's exploit fixed and since then we haven't been able to get away from Touchwiz based roms.
Before I go get the G3 I just wanted to be 100% clear that even the latest firmware hasn't fixed Bump, and I will be able to do other AOSP roms. From my quick research it seems like it's fine, but I only have 20 minutes left to get it friday instead of monday, so I figured I would just ask to be safe.

AT&T released firmware Build number: KVT49L.D85010f to patch root exploit. Read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/d850-software-update-t2937550
When Android Lollipop rolls out to G3 in the near future, rooting will be harder to accomplish. Same for other brands.

But that is recent enough that a phone bought today will not come with it out of the box, so I'm not worried about that.
And in theory I can just flash a bumped lollipop build later anyway right?
I just want to make sure it's not in the same current state as the S4 where you have to have touchwiz and match roms to bootloader version and what not.
I know there isn't too many roms yet with bump being fairly new, but as long as I stay on the current build I should be fine going forward no?
And I guess on that note, the stock rom isn't nearly as bad touchwiz is it?

Cool, I went for it, thanks for the quick clarifications. I can read all about everything now while I impatiently wait for UPS friday.
with LG phones you can always downgrade the software to a version where you can root.
I am sure there will be a way to get official lollipop while keeping custom recovery and root.
Once again, LG locked the door but forgot to close it before locking like what they did on the G2. So we were still able to upgrade while keeping custom recovery and root by mixing and matching partitions from upgrade and previous versions.
Well, my phone has the following specs.
Baseband Version: MSM8626BP_1032.390.81.01P, TELUS_CUST (im guessing this means its a bit modified by telus aldo the phone is unlocked)
Build number KXB21.14-L1.50
My question is, if I change this rom to the US Stock retail rom, will I get OTA updates from the US builds?

Yes, if there is ever a problem you can also just come back here and download the ota update and just place it in the root of your sd card and then update like that.
Very well, in that case, i'll wait a few days to see if the update arrives, if it takes too long or I don't see any news about that, ill just change to official lollipop from US RETAIL, thank you for answer
Wondering if any Canadian Users have received an update yet? I'm with Telus, build number 7SQ8-UD80.
I'm running one I bought from Koodo. I'm on that same 7SQ8-UD80 build. Wondering if Alcatel pushes the updates, or if it'd need to go through carrier testing first.
If it needs to go through carrier testing, might take a while to get an update...that's if that carrier decides to bother putting money into testing an at all. Kind of early to know for sure though.
Might not hurt to ask Alcatel or your carrier via Twitter.
Any Canadians have update yet? I still haven't!
Just picked up one from Bell yesterday for my wife.
It didn't download any system updates. I didn't check the version number but she did experience that lag issue when clearing recent apps and wasn't too impressed with the camera quality. Hoping the update comes soon and at least fixes the camera quality. She also experienced a couple of FC's when trying to change the default notification sounds... Reboot fixed that.
I'm fairly certain the device is unlocked so I'm hoping the update can come directly from Alcatel and not have to go through the carrier.

Still no updates on mine. As for the Bell one being unlocked...it'd be best to verify it using a non Bell and non virgin sim card to test it. It'd be highly irregular for them to not lock it.
I bought mine unlocked from Amazon.com and use it on Wind mobile up here. Got the 7SQR-UER0 update OTA around a week ago.
Generally I have found it to be more responsive, scrolling lists in apps are smooth now instead of stuttering every time. Haven't really tested the camera quality though.
My DTTW is awful I hope they push the update soon!
I have emailed telus and Alcatel at PR.NA(at)alcatelonetouch.com to see if there's an ETA or update coming anytime soon
Hopefully we hear something back
Hope we hear something back to. Seems like everyone else has the update already!

In the system updates checker what firmware does it show you having? I'm asking all these questions because if it's similar to the usa firmwares then you could download the twrp backups provided of the os with all updates and flash to your device. Details on the project are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/general/want-to-able-to-install-ota-updates-t3163745 You'd be booting twrp and doing a restore instead of a backup but same basic process.

When it comes to emailing TELUS, you'd be better off asking their social media team..so Twitter or Facebook. Email probly won't help, or will get you a very generic answer.

I've used twrp before with root and custom ROMs but am I able to use it to flash the 6045i firmware without rooting or using twrp as the recovery?
If so has anyone else tried it?
Does Alcatel have software similar to Odin where I can load other ROMs without rooting?
So any updates yet Canadians, still nothing for me on Telus.
Still nothing on Koodo (same as Telus)
Any updates yet Canadians??
Nothing on Koodo/telus yet (not surprised)
Has anyone gotten a useful reply from their carrier yet?
