I am a new Android user (this is my first android) and would like to root my phone but i am totaly lost as what i am supposed to do.
I was hoping you would be able to help out as to where to start

Thank for the link but i had read that earlyer and appears for firmware of a differnt build to mine
If you're sure that method doesn't work the only option would be a downgrade-root-upgrade method.
Follow the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014188
But replace the things with Xperia J ftf's etc. Should work.

I have search and try everything and every tool but with no luck.
Below I'm attaching you 2 pics. First is for my attempt with the flashtool. Second is with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18.
As you can see for yourself my phone has Android version : 4.0.4 / kernel version : 3.0.8+ / Build number : 6.1.1.B.1.100
If someone can help me I would be very grateful.

You just need to find a jelly bean kernel for the D2302. Or the 4.4.2 kernel if it is vulnerable to Towelroot. I don't remember if [just] the rooting worked with the attached kernel for D2303. If you have any question use that thread, more people are following it.

@Vtrendzzy, have been trying to find the JB Stock and also the 4.4.2 Stock for the D2302 (M2 Dual) and haven't been successful.
Would you please help point in the right direction?
