Hi,
I saw the phone also on dx.com and bought it I just told myself it's quit cheap so I'll try it. And I have to say it's perfect. I'm not sure if you can root it. But why it should not work? If you have any question, just ask me, I'll try to answer you...

x21 cwm
Dear Members,
If you need a Bedove X21 cwm recovery, I made one based on bgcngm scripts and you can reach it here.
This is the second version, with proper product information (derived from stock rom)

Original Rom dump needed for Bedove X21 ICS 4.0.9 / Wayestar A822 JB 4.1.2
How r u doing guys?
Just bricked my Bedove x21 ICS 4.0.9 trying to root it.
I'm trying to use the SP Flash Tool v3.1236.0.sn43 (available at the dropbox link at the first page of the "Tutorial sobre como instalar ROM rooteada y con Gapps Bedove x12" - google it!)
I've managed to flash a Zopo ROM in META Mode (Vol Up + Power, while connecting to USB port, after pressing Download button in the SP Flash Tool).
The trick is to change the Options>DA Download All>Speed to "Do Not Switch Speed" in the SP Flash Tool before clicking on the Download button.
Unfortunately, my Bedove X21 still bricked.
The only thing I need to put it working is a complete RomDump of Bedove X21 which I don't have.
This is a good guide to do it: http : //d-h.st/d8a
It shall work with the bedove x21 mt6577 as well...
I've just noticed that it might also exist a JB 4.1.2 version of Bedove X21, re-branded as Wayestar A822.
Is it possible to make one or both Factory ROMs available somehow?
The JB 4.1.2 might be a good update!
Pls help!
Thanks

Did someone manage to root Bedove X21 with JB4.1.2?
Root many devices and mtk droidtools are NOT working on the JB firmware.
If someone does find a way, please share. Thx in advance.

I've ordered a Bedove X21 in China and waiting for delivery.
Not sure about rooting yet but will try when delivered.
Can you tell me were to find JB4.1.2 ROM you're talking about ?
Stock Android is 4.0.9 so probably you found a better ROM.

I have bought two of these phones. One came with stockrom jb 4.1.2 and no known root methods are working. The other one had ics 4.0.9 and rooting that one was a piece of cake.
So to answer your question : the jellybean rom was preinstalled and as long the phone is not rooted I wont be able to share the rom with you guys.
In case you have the jb rom too when your phone arrives and you find a succesfull and safe rooting method, it would be greatly appreciated if you'd share your findings.
Thx in advance.

Perhaps you can make a Nandroid backup of the JB ROM using the following steps:
01. Download Fastboot:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/54398839/Fastboot+ADB(20206).zip
02. Unpack 'Fastboot+ADB(20206).zip'
03. Connect USB cable
04. Hold the Volume+ and Power button until it vibrates and shows you a menu.
Select 'Fastboot' using Volume+ button.
Press Volume- button to confirm.
05. Open cmd window and goto directory \Fastboot+ADB(20206)
06. Type the following command and press enter:
fastboot boot CWM-6.0.2.8_Acer-E1.img
07. Device will now boot to CWM
I used this method to create a Nandroid backup of my wife's Acer Liquid E1 before rooting or changing stock recovery.
Perhaps it works for the Bedove X21 or you can try to use another .img as recovery file.

How exactly did you do it?
I mean, did you have to enter download mode (pushing the power button plus volume up/down, whatever) or removing the battery before?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I did it!! I installed the proper ADB drivers on a Windows (>_<) XP PC and, using Bin4ry's Rooting method, I succeeded to root it!!
Now I don't know what to do because I ordered a Star B94M / B943 Quadcore with plenty of ROMs ready to be flashed because I thought that I couldn't root my Bedove X21... anyway, if someone tried to flash a ROM and succeeded in doing so, please comment. Maybe not everything is lost and we can squeeze more our Bedove X21

Has anyone tried this? Maybe somebody has tried to flash this image and suceeded. Have you tried any non-custom ROM?
I think that the way of flashing it is using some Flash tools or something like that, isn't it?

Do you know about any custom or official ROM other than the stock 4.0.9?

I succeeded to root my Star S7180
Look for
"Cwm Recovery S7100 by Angelobiz"
and flash it using the last part of this manual "MT6577 CWMR Root Updated V2"
Then you can boot into the clockwork mod and install a "su" root zip.

If it is a Star / HDC / UPAI Note 2 clone also known as a N7100+ S7100 and S7180 then there is a spanish forum which has instructions and fixed versions of the stock rom
http://www.movilesdualsim.com/foro/forums/128-N7100-S7180
there is a moderator there who has deodexed and fixed some of the problems with the stock rom
Installing and flashing CWM for this phone is not for the faint of hearted. Using the MTK flash tool and creating your own scatter flash file and even your own up to date CWM is advisable. There is a thread on here which explains how to do the flashing and creating your own CWM recovery.
Or you use the CWM by the spanish forum and their instructions
good luck!

OK, I've looked on the spanish forums and I really cant get my head around it. Ive had some rooting experience via Odin when rooting my HTC One X and Galaxy S3 but nothing like this. Anyone care to do a guide in proper English as opposed to google's translated guide? Ideally I want to gain root access and install an improved rom. The one which is installed with the phone is pretty lame.
Thanks guys, any help appreciated

Further to my last post, if this is any good I keep getting the following error when I try to flash recovery.img to the handset:
BROM ERROR : S_FT_NEED_DOWNLOAD_ALL_FAIL (4050)
Need download all images!
.................I havent a clue what the hell that means. Grr, its doing my nut in
I tried translating the spanish forum to no avail.
I also tried using the method for the NT6577 chipset, nadda.

Thanks for the pointers guys, I was unable to escape the bootloader!
its not a guide as such but might help in giving more pointers.
I managed to replace the existing recovery and replace it with my own generated CWM recovery.
In order to do this I followed this guide!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923764 which has a link to a tutorial
I went and installed the droid kitcen and MT6577 plugin as well in order to create my own recovery as that was my prefference. use any files of the internet at your own risk or lower the risk and DIY it!
This is curtesy of yuweng who did all the hard work writing it up.
Regarding to my phone which is classed as an S7180 or N7100+
I found this website
http://gt35pro-mobile-gadgets.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/hdc-s7100-note-2-is-now-renamed-hdc.html
He also gives out the links to which packages to download inlcuding a CWM recovery.
**************************** disclaimer *************
Don't use a scatter file that you did not create using the tools that yuweng is referencing to in his thread and tutorial!!!!!!!!!
if you use the wrong scatter file you flash the recovery into the wrong section of memory and therefore run at a HUGE risk of bricking the phone
***************************** disclaimer end *************
In essence the order I did things in
Backed up my original recovery using the Flashtool
Created my own CWM recovery using the Android Kitchen which needs the MT6577 tool and plugin installing as a mod (search XDA for the guide as to hoto do the install and yuweng also has a tutorial on how to add the MT6577 recovery generation for this)
Using MTK Droid tools to generate my own scatter file. ( a scatter file is like a memory map as to where the start and is and in this case the map for the CWM)
then using the Flash tool i flashed it using my scatter and my previously created CWM. See yuweng tutorial.
Again Gregg has provided a CWM, I can't comment on it as I never tried it.
anyway the moment i had CWM, I flashed the ROM that was on that blog page. Which came of the spanish forum originally. And they are now on version 1.2 las time I looked. 1.0 fixes a few things, i am using 1.1 as 1.2 removed the touchwiz look a like launcher and my 3D sheep widget
TIPS
* Driver installation is crucial to succesfully flashing with the FlashTool
- Switch phone off and remove the battery, then plug it in. Complete that driver install
- Re-insert battery and check without booting it you will notice that it does not have the same behaviour as with battery...very odd...still do it just in case
-boot it up and once ready put it in USB debug mode and connect usb lead and let the driver install complete
* READ THE TUTORIALS - Seriously i spent 1/2 day nonstop checking things
* Don't do this if you are not sure about what you are doing at all.
* Check your scatter file values for where the recovery is going to be flashed at least 4 times before commiting them into the flashtool. It pays to be safe!!
* Dont get freaked out by Hex values when you put them into the flashtool. if it looks wrong then check again. Only when you press the download button in the flashtool with your phone attached will it start.
stupid question
Hi ! Im following yuweng tutorial to make my own recovery ,but im stucked in starting android kitchen. Hey everyone,
After spending hours toiling through the different methods listed above (thanks to everyone for posting those), I've found a much simpler way to root the S7100, not sure about the other ones.
Go to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
and download the Framaroot 1.6.1 .apk to you phone. Install it, and wham, rooted. Or at least thats how simple it was for me: Hope it works for anyone else trying to root.
Note: This root exploit also works on many other types of phones as the thread explains.
It doesn't install the recovery or anything, but it's certainly a start.

I also tried to root it myself under linux with adb... I successfully copied all needed files, but when I tried to run ./psneuter i got this "failed to set prot mask" and nothing works again....
I'm noob in rooting world but how coul'd this be possible, that nothing works on my device??!!! I searched all web and there is no root.

Hi guys. I have this device too. This is using an AMLOGIC AML8726-MX chip. Got my device rooted using the instructions here in JBolho's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146226. Glennski's kyros was rooted using this method too.
Regarding GApps, I don't know if it will work for everybody but I got mine to install GApps by first changing the model info and fingerprint in the build.prop after I rooted the device. I used a Google certified device. But I suggest to backup your build.prop first. Then I downloaded the latest universal ICS package in http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps. I'm new at this so I placed the zip file in an external SDCARD and tried to update from recovery same as the rooting steps. But it didn't work, so extracted the gapps zip file on my SDCARD, copied the files in the system folder, and then pasted them on my root's system folder. Restarted the device and that seemed to do the trick.
Anyway, try at your own risk.
I'm currently looking for the build.prop file of the Kyros MID1065. The 1060 and 1065 seems to have the same hardware but the 1065 is Google certified.
I have stock 1060 files.contact me on privat and give me mail and i will send you file.

Hi Global, if you know a way of copying the original rom can you tell me? My coby got wicked and sent it to warranty, they changed everything inside. Now I've got a completely new tablet with original software.
If you know a way of backing this all up tell me how and I'll share it with you

Hello! I've a backup from other MID1060, but after restore, the tablet only turn on with light on, no image. I have image only, when a put the sd card with the recovery, the tablet full restore the update.zip, but after reboot only have backlight, no image.
I've tried several roms with usb burning tool, but is the same, no image. I need a stock rom MID1060 to flash with usb burning tool.
I need the correct u-boot-orig.bin, usb_spl.bin, uImage_recovery, update.zip, and correct config_progress.xml. I tried mix several u-boot-orig.bin, usb_spl.bin, uImage_recovery, and correct config_progress.xml, from other roms, but after flash with usb burning tool the tablet don´t turn on. The only rom i can turn it on and went to recovery is the stock rom of Viewsonic VB 80a PRO. I go try find the ViewSonic VB100a Pro stock rom and flash it, to view whats append.

[Q] [How To Root] Acer Liquid E1

hello,
I want to root my Acer Liquid E1 but the super one click is not working, are their any other tools?
Frank
You might want to give Bin4ry's rooting tool a shot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Also, make sure you have installed the correct ADB drivers for the device. I couldn't find any specific drivers for this device, but you might want to give these a try:
http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Acer_Liquid_E
Please let me know if you manage to root this beast. I have ordered it myself and would like to know.

but thanks alot for you replay
Have you tried Bin4ry's rooting method? he has made it to work on ICS/JB devices, and the E1 gets shipped with an next to stock JB rom here, I'll try it myself tomorrow and let you know what I find

didn't work for me, hope that you get more luck
let me know if it worked for you
Too bad this device isn't that popular yet. I believe it's one beast of a phone, there really should be more serious dev's, I don't know much about it all. I'll play with the adb drivers and see what i can come up with.
Hey I was thinking. Do you have flashtool installed? and with proper adb drivers that come with the install package (they can be found in for example C:Flashtoolrivers). I don't know about your experience with rooting and such, but you just might need to install the ADB drivers manually. If you want me to I can break it down into a few steps.
Brick3d
Ok I'll post what ive found so far now.
Recovery mode can be entered by powering the phone off, then hold volume + button and power button untill it vibrates.
how to get through menu's is self explanatory, and the recovery menu looks alot like CWM.
I have tried both SuperOneClick and Bin4ry's rooting tools, none with succes. Also have I tried to root it by using zip files and trying to flash them, but all said 'installation aborted', so no luck. I've found a chinese rooting tool for 4.1.2, I'll try that now.
If someone reads this, and is more experienced in system editing, cooking roms, and all other dev stuff; please leave a message and or try to get this one to succesfully root...

Rooting
Another message to everyone having this beautiful phone and willing to root it....DON'T!!!!
Really, don't even try the stuff i've mentioned here. Somewhere in the process I managed to brick my device and I can't do anything due to no other developers for this phone. Just wait.....
Follow the guide made by Paul from Modaco for the Gallant (SuperRecovery part) but use this package. (Include updated flash tool, repacked recovery for E1 and right scatter file)
Vache, the tutorial on that part says to pull out the battery, then connect the phone, then install usb. I did this, installed the mediatek blabla drivers you provided, clicked recovery, then used the recoE1-superuser.img, then clicked download. at this point im stuck because now the program keeps saying 'Loading'
Thank you
Perfect. Acer Liquid E1 rooted. Thanks and gratitude to Paul.

URGENT - Stock ROM for Gionee Pioneer

Hi Everyone,
I have a Gionee Pioneer and I tried rooting it using advice from this forum but it didn't work. Rather, my phone went into an endless bootloop, just showing the boot image. So I want to ask if there is anyway I can get the stock ROM and how do I root it next time. Also, how do I flash the generic android OS to it if I can't find the stock ROM? Thanks.

Can you enter the bootmenu? Press volume key while power on? There are some option to reset the device. I have rooted my device with superoneclick and MTK 6573 ADB drivers. These are the original Google drivers for Nexus One, etc. There are many MTK 6573 ADB drivers package to download for free. Just try anyone and superoneclick. Otherwise it can be your device is brick and you need a special cable or so. But that's on top my head.

Root RK3066/ Rockchip 3066 easy method

USE THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK!
Rooting your device can void device´s guarantee.
Follow the steps:
1. Download the files in the attachment and place them in the root of the sdcard.
2. After the first step is done a window will pop on your screen. Select yes and the device will reboot short after in CWM.
3. Now, according to your options you can flash superuser+busybox or supersu. I recommend superuser because we can uninstall the root with this choice. Go to install zip from sdcard and choose the zipfile from the card, press enter then yes when you are asked if you are sure you wanna flash.
4. Reboot device!
*DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING
Success! Your device is rooted.
Now because I didn´t figure out how to access the CWM, we need to keep the update.zip file but is enoying to have the update popping all the time so we will rename it from your favorite file manager. Whenever you want to uninstall the root rename the zip again to update.zip and place it on the root of the sdcard, run the update and flash the unroot zip.
To check if your device is rooted download Terminal Emulator and enter the su command.
Please stay tuned because I have a debian port for this device with working sound and drivers in deb bootstrap.
You can find me on my youtube channel and subscribe for the latest news!
Thank you! If you appreciate the tutorial and the job done please don´t hezitate to donate! ( every penny counts and will develop new apps!)
Please leave a reply if this works for you!

What version of android it is running?
Maybe you have an installed version of CWM on it. Turn off the phone and press volume down on power on, take the finger off the power on button but keep pressing the volume down untill you can see the CWM. From that you can flash the root zip as described.
Thank you, your instruction and installation went really smooth and works 100%. I rooted RK3066 (MK812) with Android 4.2.2. It's the easiest method for Android stick. :good:

I clicked on update.zip the update was successful but there was no option to flash anything. Could someone make a youtube video? This guy says he has a youtube channel but he did not leave a link and I can not find channel or video under his name.
My Q8S (http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Q8S-...M-4G-ROM-1-6GHz-Tablet-PC---Black-315345.html) finds the update but then decides it not valid...
Also, since it does not have a volume rocker, I am not sure how I would go to/use CWM either way?
Help with rooting Sumvision Cyclone Voyager (on 4.2.2)
Hi,
Thanks for this, - don't know much about this stuff, and have been looking for a straighforward root process, - this looks like the one!
But, I'm also getting the 'not a valid update package' error message.
I tried the holding down vol. - on re-start, but doesn't work on my Sumvision Cyclone Voyager tablet.
Would be grateful for any advice, thanks
