See this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016774&highlight=usb+charge about USB charging.
I recommend this battery http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002D4IHYM/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01
I use this technique to charge my Note 10.1 and my Galaxy S3 on the road, works great.

You have plenty of options to choose from. There was a discussion here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044175.
I was able to grab a ravpower 10000mAh brick on amazon a couple days ago fro $30. The deal was posted here http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/858...-2x-usb-ports-rppb07-w-usb-wall-charger-pouch , keep in mind that the deal runs for a limited time each day (December 12th through December 31st from 5:00PM - 8:00PM PST (For EST 8:00PM - 11:00PM). The thing is a monster, but it works well charging my kindle and phone.

More powerfull bateries for nexus

I've Been using my nexus and realized that the battery gets empty after 4 or 5 hours if i'm lucky.
I don't believe that i have a faulty one. The thing is that i do a intensive use of my N1 (even stop using my laptop for a wide range of tasks ). So i'm not surprised this is happening. So, I'm wondering if there's a more powerful one that gets me through the full day without messing with garanty or the phone.

But if you're using it so heavily that you empty it in 5 to 6 hours, even the 3200 might not get you through the day.
I see... i'VE be watching the distribution of the battery use, and realized the 80% of the charge goes to the touch screen, and the other 20% is enough to all the apps and services... Sent from my Nexus One using the XDA mobile app
thank you Paulk for your input. Made me realize that
i really don't want a more powerful battery (because it will be necessary also to change the back phone cover). Instead I'll be buying a spare battery (or 2). Sad is the fact that there aren't chargers to the spare... you'll have to put it inside the phone to actually charge it. This is true right?
Sent from my Nexus One using the XDA mobile app
Some phone docks do include a spare battery port for charging the spare. I don't believe that the official N1 desktop dock has this feature. Otherwise, yes, you'd have to charge it inside the phone itself.
Are you rooted? I swear, after 50/80 text messages a day, 2-3 hours of music, and 12/30 emails per day, I get home with about 40% battery. I do however use SetCpu profiles
yeah. I'm planning to buy a spare one and the car dock. and yes it only charges the phone it self. so i think is something Google and HTC should look into. but it's not a disaster. if you start the day with 2 fully charged batteries there's the possibility to get to the end of the day. then to charge those too batteries you will need about 4 or 5 hours i gess - a job to do during the night. It could be worse.

No, you can find chargers on eBay that will charge just the batteries. I've also seen an auction which has a battery charger and 2 batteries (might be the one in the thread U$20 *delivered*: "2x1400mah battery + charger for htc google nexus one")
i could. only wish. during Saturday, from 2pm (when i started using the phone) until 8 am on Sunday i charged twice my N1 (plus the full charge made during the Friday to saturday night). so in about 24 hours i've wasted almost 3 full charges... i see your point, but do you really surf the web or is just msg e mails you send. if i listen to 2 h of music, i bet the batery will get empty before that time. i also use the N1 to remotely access my home and work pc. my wireless card e working 24/7 and the gps no (only when needed ) So you guys tell me if i should worry about this, or not.

and no, i'm not rooted. doesn't exist software like that to non rooted phones. i do not wich to break my warranty. ..

Perhaps you can check the inbuilt Battery Use section under About Phone and see what's using your battery so much. You could also install the application Spare Parts, which will allow you to see what's using the CPU while your phone is in standby.
Other than that you might want to use the auto for your backlighting if you don't already. And try to set any auto updates to an hour or so between updates? And disable auto login for Google Talk if you don't use it. If you're using a task manager, I find that constantly running task managers don't work well for my battery life, though your mileage may vary.
Hope this helps!
I find that using Advance Task Killer will help with the battery life. When I had the Motorola Cliq, it didn't last me very long (not sure why, I even fully charge it, go to sleep and wake up next morning with the battery drained at 1%). But ATK did help a lot even with the N1. That's one of the widgets I have up on my home screen

I think this is what you are looking for: -
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...one-1600mah-extended-replacement-battery.html
You should probably read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649770 before you decide on buying any batteries though. But keep in mind these results only test around 1 battery from each brand.
Re: solution found to my problem
after long research and testing tweeks and apps without real results i went another way and buyed a non-official house dock with possibility to charge also a spare battery; plus a official spare battery. made the buy at expansys webshop, and now I'm living a dream. with 2 batteries i no longer have to be restricted in using the N1. strange is the fact that the original battery i get worse times comparing with the one i buy after. it's a big difference. the first last usualy 6 to 8 h depending on use, and with the spare I'm making 10 to 14 h of use. the best is having allways another charged battery to put in the phone when the gets drained.
Has anyone purchased the Mugen 3200?

I am wondering if that or the Seidio Would be a better buy.

Hi,
I've purchased a 1200 mAh battery which has name a brand of "Momax" (from eBay). It's price is about USD 10. And it's performance is equal to 60-65% of original nexus one battery. Not good but you know "if you pay peanuts you get monkeys"
I am wondering if that or the Seidio Would be a better buy...

if you don't bother to get a bigger phone than probably is a hood buy. but if worry the keep the phone looks as it is than i would advise you to go with the standard ones (official). More: are you going to charge the spare in the phone or are you going to have a charger for it? that's really important. .. if you also buy a way to charge it while you use the other battery than you have no reason to buy a extended life battery. that's only my opinion. hope it helps you
this is the "ora charger for the nexus one" i buoyed from expansys web site. my spare battery is in it already charged and ready for when the one i have in the phone gets drained. there's really no need to have a extended on in this conditions. but if you plan not to buy a charger than is quite different. for what i read about the extended ones, they don't give you twice the life. at most 30 to 40% more, and for me that's no enough.

Anker 1900 mAh - One Day Sale

For those of you who missed out on LaptopMate's $10.00 price on amazon,
they are currently running a sale on eBay for $9.99 + FREE shipping!!

(It says on the ebay page that the sale ends in one day, but maybe it will last longer.)
Hope this helps.

LaptopMate must love this forum by now, with all the business they're getting.
I ordered mine last week from a seller who was selling them for $9.99. The price has since risen to $11.99 so those of you without them better grab them now

I bought a pair and charger for $28 total. Batteries are working great! You MUST buy this.

Your welcome guys. Glad this helped.
20hrs left on this sale.
Grab 'em if you want 'em cuz they are going for $16.99 w/out free shipping on Amazon now.
I've seen this sale up for a few days now. Been feeling conflicted about the value vs. practicality of the purchase, and then finally bought it. Aside from that, thanks for the notice!
Mine should be arriving soon. So since this is the first time I'm using an aftermarket battery, I've got a question: how should one properly cycle this battery the first few times?
I've been looking for a better/2nd battery for my Sensation since the one that comes with the phone is kinda weir. Sometime I can get 20hours out of it and still have 15% left that will last me the rest of the night but sometime it will get to 10% in 14-15 hours of average use and less if I watch movies on it. Hopefully this batter will last longer and be my main battery. For $10 if it doesn't last as long as I hope it isn't a bad price for a back up battery as well.
Thanks for the heads up, just ordered mine. By the sounds of it I might be able to get some use out of my sensation without having to be near an outlet.
thanks for the heads up i appreciate it. $7 bucks shipped with the few ebay bucks i had to spend. good stuff

After doing some research, I think I've pulled the most logical info from a number of different places and put it together below. However, I'll be doing more research and post here again if I notice something different.
-Insert Battery
-Charge up the battery 100%
(Some recommend doing so while the phone is powered off because the booted Android system may stop charging when your new battery reaches your old battery's capacity)
-Boot to recovery and wipe battery stats
-Boot to system and let it drain through normal usage until phone shuts down
-Charge up to 100%
(Again, some recommend doing so while the phone is powered off, just to be safe)
-Boot up and use as desired
Anker 1900
Mine has performed really well. It lasts about 15% longer than my stock.
I ordered mine about 4 days ago from the same seller for 9.99 just got it yesterday and my battery life has doubled! If not Tripled

Halo Pocket Power 2800 mAh power pack

My wife got one of these for everyone in the family for Valentine's day.
She didn't say where or how much but she's a QVC fan so I'm guessing she got it here:
http://www.qvc.com/HALO-2800mAh-Poc...Cellphones-&-Electronics.product.E223301.html
$30 each + S&H, but cheaper if you order several
More info here:
http://stores.halo2cloud.com/-strse-17/Halo-Pocket-Power-2800/Detail.bok
and here:
http://halo2cloud.com/resource/pdf/PocketPower2800UserGuide.pdf
The good things:
When you press a button, an LED lights Green for almost full, blue for half-full, red for almost empty
Delivers 1000 milliAmps while charging phone... should charge it 20-100% in about 1.5 hours.
The bad things:
The usb port on the powerpack is a female USB (just like on your pc).
So when charging your phone from the powerpack, you can use any old cord (which is fine) BUT....
.... when charging the powerpack (from your pc or your normal charger), you need a special female-to-female USB cord. The supplied multi-purpose cord fits the bill, but if you ever lose it, you'll have a hard time finding another. The typical USB cable has male on one end and female on the other. I guess I'll rubber band the cord together with the powerpack so I always have the cord handy when/where I need it.
I previously bought 3 Feipusi batteries for $5 each. That seemed like a good emergency/backup plan to me. A spare battery is actually much smaller and easier to carry around than this power pack plus the cord. I guess this is handier backup plan since you don't have to power down the phone and pull of the back. Also if you want to help out a a buddy with a different style phone, chances are your battery won't fit his phone but this powerpack will work.
I prefer to extend tu life of my phone . I got a 2100mah battery for 7$ on ebay to replace the stock 1750mah . It goes up to 3500mah but at the cost of increasing the phones back cover in size making all phone cases unable to fit. Also i use juice defender and Aeon custom rom makes my infuse around 30+ hours of battery time in normal use. Saves the trouble of switching battery for only a 7$ investement

$7???? went to ebay and they were all $34+ except for one from China that didn't say what it was. I have the OEM and a 3500mah but that extended back is a killer (slippier). Someone suggested a couple of coatings of liquid rubber for the back would work. Haven't gotten to that point and if I can find a battery at the right price like you did, I might never get to that option.
I just went on ebay . Do a research "infuse 2100mah" cheapest one was 7.35$ and its the same onr i got

It is a myth that you need to drain a new battery. Modern li-ion batteries do not need this and actually hurts battery life. Do a google search for "drain new battery myth" and you will see many articles on the subject.
After all the research I've done, it seems that any time you let your battery get below 65% or so, you are actually hurting battery life and will have to get a new one sooner than later.
Well this new battery and running Avatar 0n my phone it lasts me from sun up till after sun down every day with lots of use on my breaks at work and beyond. Totally love it. Way better than b4 when it lasted maybe 6 hours

Standard Qi Wireless Charger (China made)

Hi guys,
I'm relatively new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone here have had any experienced with a standard generic Qi charger from China. I'd recently purchased one online and have been using it for over 2 days now without any problems.
My intention was to actually try this product first before I get a charger from reputable brands such as Energizer or even the Nexus Orb. Is there any difference between these charging pad or should I just stick to the one I have now?
Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
it would be helpful if you can mention the brand name or post a pic, if you still cant provide url. i'm recently ordering fasttech wireless charger too, still waiting to be delivered.
As long as it is charging the device, and it doesn't feel like it is getting too hot, then I would stay with what you got.
I think the benefit of the orb is that it holds it at an angle so you can see it while sitting, but that is just a small benefit that normally doesn't matter.

Just got a fasttech charger, figured Id give it a shot. Makes me appreciate the orb more and makes me feel better about spending twice as much on the orb. The orb uses micro USB (aka universal), secures the phone and doesnt have the obnoxious blue LED on it. Also, the fasttech seems finicky about charging, you have to get it just right. The orb doesnt seem to care.
Something weird happened to my charging pad last night. Apparently, I wanted to gauge how long will it take for the pad to charge my Nexus 4 to 100% from 10%. So after making sure that my battery was at 10%, I left it on the charger and went to bed.
However earlier this morning, I find that my battery was only at 84% charged (after nearly 5 hours of charging). A quick look at the battery stats shows that it charged normally from 10% to 80% and then dropped down to 70% (on battery and pad did not charged, I reckoned). After that, it was charging again to 84% and stayed flat at that percentage till morning. Weird right?

was your phone vibrated sometime during the night that caused it to move?
I don't think so because I set JuiceDefender to switch my device to Airplane mode at night. It's really weird...

rev 10 and wireless charging

The first run (rev. 10) has poor compatibility with a lot of qi chargers so I have steered clear until now. Now that prices have come down and it isn't quite as niche a product as it was a year ago I'm thinking about it again.
There are a lot of them to sort through so I figured I'd ask the forum while I continue my own searching. What name brand (not ebay generics) qi chargers have you found that work perfectly with a rev. 10 n4? I'm definitely looking to avoid charge/not charging loops and not keeping the phone topped off.
Particularly I'm interested in the new Nexus Wireless Charger and the TYLT VU but I haven't been able to find specific examples of them with rev 10. Feel free to make other suggestions.
Sorry I'm lost .. what is rev. 10? (and how do I check what rev I have)
Are there listed differences by rev as well? Never nind.. found them here http://celltraderonline.com/showthr...e-Difference-Nexus-4-REV-10-Vs-Nexus-4-REV-11
I did high tech manufacturing for over a decade and many consumers don't realize that cost reductions, part changes, improvements etc occur all the time and are tracked by the manufacturer in many different ways. The worst way is by serial number... other ways include revisions, product codes, release numbers etc.
I've been using the Panasonic charge pad with my Rev11. Beautiful device.

The early revisions 10/11 are known to be particularly qi picky (especially with the old nokia chargers). You can see the revision in the bootloader.

My usage pretty much requires a full charge when I wake up so while I agree the Panasonic seems to be a great charger it just isn't for me.
I took a small keep of faith and used the 30% T-Mobile discount to experiment with the TYLT VU. Happily I'm able to report that it works flawlessly with my picky rev.10 model. I've yet to pick up my phone and have it read anything but charged or 100%.

i use LG WCP-300 to charge my rev10 nexus 4, works really well, really small too. bought it from the verizon online store.
1 thing to note is not to worry about the heat or overcharging, it will automatically stop charging when it reaches 100%.
review from our fellow member:

Mine DOESN'T fully charge to 100% it slows at 95 and stops at 98 and I have to pull it off and wait a few minutes before putting it back on and it cuts off at 100% and that's not practical for me as it drops to around 90 overnight unlike my nexus 7 2013 which charges to 100 and stays there. That's why I charge nexus 4 with cable and nexus 7 wirelessly.

My N4 is a Rev 11 and I've had the TYLT VU for a couple of weeks now. The first several days it would only charge to 93% but lately it has started to charge to 96% or 98%, only once has it given me a full charge to 100%. I emailed the folks at TYLT over a week ago and have yet to receive a response. I'm not sure if it's the charger, the phone or if the battery stats are just wrong. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I do like the charger though.
