[Q] [How to] Use *2767*3855# - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

How do i reset using *2767*3855#. I type that in the dial pad it connects me to verizon. I am trying to get Voice and Data back. I just odin'd back to stock.

That doesn't work on 4G phones, it actually can 'hurt it' somehow (if we're talking about the same thing) download phoneinfo from play store and that should help you, set the mode to lte/cdma/evgo(whatever it says) pril auto

Many people fixed the problem caused by the new cm 10.1 update, using that after odin to stock.

You can use it, but you need to go back to VRLF2 stock ICS. Newer builds disabled the code.
Here is a link to Root66, a ROM you can use the re-provision code on:

No data randomly

Just got my GS3 yesterday. Rooted before I paid for it I'm running the stock OS with root but I seem to lose my data connection constantly. It stays lost until I toggle airplane mode. Any way to fix this? Thanks

I have this same problem, but it happened to me after I had lost my IMEI and then manually injected it myself. I've ready tried reprovisioning about 3 times, but to no avail. Idk if our problem is caused by the same thing or not, but it is extremely bothersome, isn't it? I wish some genius could help us

I didn't do anything with the IMEI except back it up using the terminal emulator and the "reboot nvbackup" command. Not even sure if it did anything or not. How do you reprovision the phone? What does that even [claim to] do? A google search shows a lot of people complaining about this. I hope someone comes along and helps too.

If you reprovision, it will wipe all your data and such. Idk if you wanna try it. I only tried it because someone suggested it, but it was pointless. So, if you were gonna try that, you would want to nandroid backup first. The way to reprovision if you're interested is dial *2767*3855# that'll do the trick for you. I hope someone comes along to help as well. After a while some fix usually comes around. Just gotta be patient sometimes

Interesting. I wonder what the reprovisioning actually does. I didn't flash CWM yet since I'm running the stock bootloader, and it is locked. I heard that unlocking the bootloader can cause trouble if an OTA update changes things on it.

I would suggest that you just download ROM Manager from the app store, open it up, and at the very top it will say flash clockwork mod recovery. Hit that and it should be a done deal. Let me know if you have any problems

About data/signal issue, that's not your IMEI. It more than likely is your sim card. I had to get 2 replacements from Verizon due to a weak signal. Another simple thing to try is to be sure data roaming is ON in the settings menu, and restart. That is known to work. Rooting prob did not cause this to happen, the S3 has signal issues to begin with. Do not start running scripts to attempt to fix without going through the verizon fixes first. Stay on stock rom, hide your root apps and bring in to get sim card. They won't check for root.
Plan B is to call *611 and speak to someone, they can push a signal code through to fix. Don't say your rooted!

Oh but we shall see what happens when I change towers. To compare, and diagnose this issue, how is your phone setup. Mine is as follows:
Purchased at: Small business authorized reseller
Contract: On contract
Purchase date: 9/5/12 (opened a new account, not adding a line)
OS/ROM: Stock 4.0.4
Rooted: Yes
Bootloader: Locked (had it unlocked temporarily to see if I could do it, but I relocked it to diagnose the data issue)
Recovery: CWM
ICS Encryption: Not turned on (I don't think I can use it now that I have CWM installed anyway)
Apps that run at boot: Call Recorder by Skvalex
Root apps installed: SuperUser (duh), Rom Manager, CallRecorder, Terminal Emulator (used it to execute "reboot nvbackup" as a supposed IMEI backup method)

So far all I've done is "reboot nvbackup" to supposedly backup my IMEI, but I have no idea if it did anything. I'll double check data roaming, but I don't want to rack up a roaming bill. Also I don't have to worry about my store finding out if I root. The sales guy helped me root it before I even paid for it.
The guy I dealt with helped with root questions for me too at actually vzw store... Funny! Sim should do the trick. And yes, that script you ran backed your IMEI correctly, so it's not that. Data roaming is to see if it improves issue, if it does, your having network issues that are not phone related. There is no reason to keep that option on unless your lost in the woods and need data!

Best way to update??

Okay, I read on here every day on my cell and can't find the answer to my question. I, like alot of people have a stock, rooted, unlocked phone and want to update to the latest OTA. I would like to, if possible, do this without Odin.
I was wondering if they're was a file like Scott's stock Rom that could be dirty flashed over stock without any problems? If there is no other way, I plan on using Odin to get back to stock after I relock the bootloader, take the update, and then reroot, unlock, etc.
The big reason that I would rather do it without the computer is that I am on the road 90% of the time and don't have access to a computer. I depend on my phone for GPS as well as entertainment, so being without my phone isn't an option for me. Are there any options?

I am the same way and would like to do it without going completely back to locked/un-rooted/stock. I was able to find a ROM that Scott just updated with the new VRALG7 from verizon here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892670
This will apparently update your phone to the new baseband and leave you stock/rooted.
Hope this helps!

Did you just wipe cache and dalvik cache or do a full wipe?
What I ended up doing was a full wipe and flashed CleanROM 2.5, which is based on the new VRLG7 updates. Then I flashed the new VRLG7 radio form here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-of...zon-sgs3-sch-i535-odin-or-recovery-flashable/
Titanium backup took care of restoring all of my apps and settings.

Can I ask why you guys want the update anyway? I'm also on stock/rooted/unlocked and all I did was freeze the apps called 'sdm' and 'fwupgrade' and there's no chance for it to update to the OTA. I hear all it has is dumbed down search and a Verizon remote-help sort of thing.
It blocks a security issue and is different framework from what I understand. I would lock the bootloader, unroot, OTA, and then redo everything but will not be around a computer until tomorrow at the best.

After reading the posts on Scott's CleanROM 2.5, that's what I am going to do this weekend. I will feel a lot better knowing I received the most up-to-date software from Samsung as the framework and then customize my phone the way I want. Plus, that's what a lot of the more experienced posters have been recommending, and for a noob like me, it would be dumb for me to not take their advice.
Thanks for getting back to me about the cache wiping question!
No worries, good luck!

Just got back into cell phone range. Thanks for the info. I flashed an unofficial cm10.1 build. And did what was suggested. Thankfully I now have a fully working phone again. However beware that some of your data maybee lost. I'm not sure why. I think it is due to the way android 4.2 deals with multiple users. Make sure you back up all data off your device. A backup with titanium did not work for some apps, the XDA developer app amongst them btw.

I'm going to go overboard and deep NOOB, and ask if i have restored to stock, and still have this issue, do I need to re-root and then flash CM10.1 to get the radio portion working again?
Once i have it working correctly, how do I flash a different ROM {AOKP} to prevent this from happening again?

Why Dont Programming Codes Work for SCH-i535 / i535.10 ?

Verizon Galaxy s3. Had rooted & installed CM10 but having the "Can't Connect" to camera issue. Seems like this is a firmware issue? But first step per below is to enter a programming code to determine the camera fw version. Only problem is these codes are not working on my phone. I suspect its in a issue with this version of the phone or firmware where they may have changed the codes? Is there another code I can try or another way to find out camera fw?
I flashed back to stock ROM but the code does nothing when hitting dial after entering it, just says your call cannot be completed....etc..
instructions for upgrading camera fw
Please dial in stock dialer the following: *#34971539#
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006128
none of these work
http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Secret-Codes-Android-Mobile-Phones-76373.S.96857331
I thought these were supposed to be generic codes for Android phones?
factorytest.apk?
After some more reading it looks like this may have to do with the lack of factorytest.apk? Is that right? If so how can I install this temporarily and where can I find the apk? Can't seem to find anything via Google.

Try it on an older modem, I know for sure dialer codes are blocked on JB modems. I will say this though, I'm on Beans VRBLK3 TW rom (with VRBLK3 modem) which includes the factorytest.apk and the dialer code you provided does not work for me. That's about my only suggestion.
So not the phone dial, you mean download a modem app? There is no way to pass these commands via virtual terminal?

Honestly, in my experience, if you want a completely stable, fully functional rom for the Stingray, stick with stock. EOS and CM10.1 both randomly lock up on me, and by doing the BigPart partition and moving into the KitKat roms, you run the risk of being in the group that lost data functionality (myself included). If I can find a solution for the data issues myself and others are having on KitKat, I'll post back here, though.

I was one of those that lost data capability when I set up bigpart on my Stingray. How did you flash back to stock after trying bigpart?

I haven't. I've been bouncing back and forth between EOS4/CM10?1 (both of which have data BigParted, as long as you use the ElementalX kernel) and CM11/Omni 4.4 (neither of which I've been able to get data working on).

I'm sorry I just misunderstood. I have done the same thing... switched back and forth from Omni and CM11 on BigPart, and never had functional data service. I switched back to EOS and I now have 3G data, no LTE. My Xoom shows no IMEI number. I'm assuming the same thing is going on with yours? I've been reading up trying to figure out how to flash back to stock because the internet in general seems to agree that method is the only way to restore a lost IMEI. I'm going to try it this weekend if I have time.

Using either the testing menu or the LTE On/Off app, I'm able to get my IMEI back on EOS, CM10.1, Omni, and CM11; however, I still can't get 4G on EOS or CM10.1 and I can't get any data on Omni or CM11. If you want to go back to stock, you'll need to undo the BigPart first. To do that, just follow the steps to BigPart it, but in the first step, flash the regular RAH TWRP and not the BigPart one. From there, I'm not entirely sure. I'll do some research and post another reply if I find anything.

Any rom that says "Stingray" in the title of the thread will work. There are several of them in the Xoom Android Development forum. Just be careful you don't try to install a rom that says BigPart unless you do the BigPart repartition.
